New plush king bed, 42' flat screen, wireless internet, tranquil river view
The love of nature and desire to be near water with peaceful surroundings has always been a dream of mine. After living in Massachusetts all my life, I moved here to the beautiful Adirondacks in 2009 with my husband Doug. Cheryl purchased this cabin in 2006
Cheryl purchased this Studio in 2010
Why Cheryl chose Northville
Doug and I enjoy the challenge of finding undesirable properties in dire need of rehabbing. It must have the right location though. We somehow have seen their potential, where most would have run away..fast! When we first looked at this neglected, overgrown property with a poorly laid out, run down cabin, we excitedly began brainstorming on how to transform this ugly duckling into the peaceful, charming beauty it is now. The bigger the challenge the greater our motivation. With a lot of ideas, hard work, some hired carpenters when the tasks were just too much. the dream was complete. The final result..a cozy, rustic, yet updated cabin with an exceptional view of the Sacandaga River. We did all that while our home, and jobs were in MA. We lived in MA, but our hearts longed for the day we could make Northville (Benson) NY our home. Well...long story short, in 2009 we sold our home in MA and moved into the cabin while our home next door was being built. Ten months later we moved out of the cabin into our new home. The cabin was just too special to not share with others so we decided to offer it as a vacation rental. Now into it's 8th successful year, our many very pleased, happy guests long to return. The numerous comments left in our guest book along with the rave reviews on the Home Away site speak for themselves.

Great weekend getaway!
My boyfriend and I had concert tickets on a Saturday night in Saratoga but were interested in staying outside of the city. Well, this location and home was perfect! We were able to enjoy some time kayaking on the lake (thanks to the help from owner Doug), explore the local towns and relax! Highly recommend!
Great little getaway on the river
This is a cabin-themed little studio apartment, over the garage in a larger house. Though it is part of a larger building, it feels extremely private and quiet. Beautiful river view, and a hummingbird feeder on the tiny balcony. Very quiet dead-end road that runs along the riverside. Convenient to hiking trails and towns, as well as wilderness ares.
Although our visit was short, our stay at this quaint and beautiful studio was one to be remembered. We enjoyed having breakfast on the deck watching the hummingbirds, who so freely enjoy their breakfast with us. There was a nice view of the river, and a short walk down the road was a hidden and beautiful waterfall. The drive to lake Sacandaga was short, where we kayaked and fished. The owners, Cheryl and Doug were very humble. We look forward to staying here again!
Wonderful romantic getaway!
This studio is a great place to get away from it all! Cheryl answered all questions promptly and Doug was very welcoming when showing us around. The place is spotless and adorably decorated. All of the country chic touches make it very quaint. The balcony is a cozy place to stargaze, watch deer, or just listen to the river. If you want to disconnect, this could be the place...the WiFi worked great for my boyfriend’s Android phone, but my iPhone struggled. With two people over 6ft, dining at the table as it’s positioned was a tight squeeze, but we were easily able to move it. Also, the gas fireplace was very romantic, but the heat was dry, so people with sensitive skin might want to bring a travel humidifier! Northville and Edinburgh are easily accessible and the locals are very friendly and helpful. Everywhere you look, there are gorgeous scenic views. We cannot wait to come back!
DOUG AND CHERYL's HOME WAS AMAZING! I would highly recommend staying at this lovey home. It was clean - beautiful - private and comfortable. Doug and Cheryl were extremely wonderful hosts and we will definitely be back again very soon! Would highly recommend
This studio was even nicer than we imagined. It was set up perfectly with lots of space and beautiful decor! The bathroom was big and beautiful, the balcony was so nice and cozy with a wonderful view (we watched deer come in every night) so peaceful! the private entry to the studio was very welcoming. This place is my favorite, it was beautiful, cozy and private. Everything in the studio was good high end stuff and it was so comfortable. When you walk in you feel welcome. We did not get to meet Cheryl but we met Doug and he is very nice. He talked to us a bit and said if we needed anything to just call. If you are considering staying you should because it is a great place and you will be happy you did. I was very sad when it was time to leave!

Located in the foothills of the Adirondacks in the town of Benson. This studio/suite has a great location over looking the Sacandaga River and is on a quiet dead end road.
