Charming Southern Beach Home with amenities for all age groups. Our family hopes you will find the home to meet all of your needs and we hope you have a wonderful stay on Isle of Palms, in Charleston, SC!

Bedroom Breakdown:

1st Floor: One bedroom with King bed. 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds. These two rooms share a connected bathroom which is between the two rooms.

2nd Floor has a total of 3 bedrooms. The first is the Master bedroom has a King bed, porch access, and a large bathroom with shower and separate jacuzzi bath tub. The next bedroom has 2 double beds with a private bathroom. The last bedroom on this level has a Queen bed and private bathroom.

All bedrooms have windows and plenty of natural light, ceiling fans, comfortable mattresses, and at least 300 thread count linens.

Decks/Porches:

The main and second floor both feature large front porches spanning the width of the house. The main floor porch has an outdoor sofa, several large cushioned chairs, rocking chairs and tables. The second floor deck is partially screened with a hammock, rocking chairs, and views of the marsh and inter-coastal. There is also rooftop widows with great views of the inter-coastal.

Living Areas:

Both floors are designed around large, open living areas. Excluding guestrooms the entire main floor is a very large kitchen and living room. The kitchen has new appliances, granite counter tops, a large dining table, and an island with seating. The second floor features another large living room with wide leather sofas (1 sleeper/sofa.) Both living areas have plenty of windows, porch access, flat screen t.v.'s, seating and fireplaces.

Extras:

Because our house is not on the beach we provide a golf cart to make the short trip to the water (2 minutes) as convenient as possible. We also have 2 kayaks, and miscellaneous beach chairs, games, umbrellas, etc. There is a gas grill near pool. Propane tanks are available at the Wild Dunes Marina one block away.

This house is comfortably furnished and tastefully designed to entertain large groups of friends and family in an easy setting with plenty of privacy without sacrificing proximity to the beach, marina, and restaurants and bars of front beach. Great Vacation Home! Comfortable and elegant

I stayed in this home with my family for 10 days in April 2016. We were 12 people and we all felt that we had plenty of space to be together or to be separate. The house was clean upon our arrival. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is large and spacious and great for families hanging and cooking together. We loved the proximity to the beach. We also really loved the big, spacious porches on every floor! The porch behind the kitchen (overlooking the pool) is screened in, so its a wonderful place for a meal (no bugs) or to simply hang and chill. I don't think the pictures on the listing do the house justice. I was actually pleasantly surprised about how nice and comfortable and updated the house actually wise. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice relaxing beach vacation for a large group.

Impressive Beach House

My family of 12 stayed the week of Christmas.We were a little nervous upon arrival because these days you just never know what you are getting, but to our surprise this place was clean, comfy and plenty of room for everyone to spread out or hang out together. Nice views of the beautiful golf course and a few peaks of the Intercoastal waterway. Beach was easy to access with golf cart. Home had plenty of space. Furnishings were nice and we especially liked that there were two den areas, one on the first floor off kitchen and other on second floor. We found a fun restaurant, "Morgan's Cove" with live music (at the nearby Marina) and met some locals that were very nice. We hope to rent here again and would recommend the place to others.

Perfect Beach Getaway

i can't say enough about our stay. This house is perfect for large groups and everyone in our family felt right at home.

Having a pool on the property is a must, especially with children. The location is close enough to the beach for easy access, but far enough away from the busy traffic and tourists. The golf carts are an added bonus. You could always opt to stay in a condo or resort property, but honestly the vacation getaway felt like home.

Great House, location

This is a great place to stay on the Island. The space, bedrooms, kitchen, backyard and amenities are fantastic. My wife and I travel quite a bit and generally vacation in the Caribbean. We decided this year to try to reconnect with family that we had not seen in some time and stay closer to home. Seven of us stayed in the house and could not be more pleased with the home, its spacious layout, fantastic kitchen and yard. Our brother his wife and 4 children who live in Mt. Pleasant would come to visit daily and you could still find a peaceful, quite and relaxing area in the home. It's location on the island I think is better than being right at the beach. Traffic can be quite heavy. Even though the season had not quite started yet, Palm Avenue (main beach street) is extremely busy. This location is very quite compared to the other areas of the island but still has very easy access to the marina and beach. Having the golf carts made accessing these areas a breeze. It is difficult to assess all of the extras that come with this house because we only stayed I week. I would have loved to use the kayaks!! Bicycles, boogie boards, etc. were there for use. I did read a review of this house that complained of the insects and the stairs. Having traveled quite a bit, I can tell you honestly, in any warm climate unless you rent a 10th floor or above condo, you will experience insects. Leave a door open while you are unpacking or packing is all it takes. This house did not have any problem in this area. As to the stairs???? They are well lit and easily navigated. My 87 year old mother in law manged pretty easily. I would recommend this house to anyone that enjoys a convenient location, great kitchen, beautiful landscaping and wonderful amenities.

Nice house but needs some TLC

The house is large, bright and airy. Everyone in our party of 10 said it looked better than the photos. It is nicely situated and the views of the Intercoastal (and sunsets) from the second floor living room were very nice. It is also well equipped. We found everything we needed in the kitchen.

Word of warning - at weekends traffic to and from (and on) the Isle of Palms is really bad - we were in a backed up line of traffic for 45 mins waiting to get on to the island. And similarly were in a very long line to get to the grocery store after we had checked in.

With two living rooms it is good for large groups who want to spread out. But if you want to all sit comfortably together at night not so good. And the dining room table only seats 8 so two people have to sit at the kitchen bar.

Now for the TLC needed:

* There was a huge spider web on the ceiling in the master bedroom - at least 3ft by 3ft. We vaccuumed it up as no way I could sleep with it there! There were also spider webs on either side of the first floor fireplace we vaccuumed up.

* The shower control was broken off and lying on the window sill in the master bath. We called and the owner agreed to get it fixed - but why wasn't it fixed the week before (when the house was empty?)

* One drawer in the master bath was broken - it woudn't stay closed so we jammed it with a wedge of cardboard. Another had a toilet seat stored in it - so two of the drawers were not usable.

* The master bedroom door was warped and couldn't close. Given that we had someone sleeping on the couch outside this was quite upsetting. The owner said he would fix it after we left (when the house was empty again).

* One bedroom upstairs had three vaccuum cleaners stored in the closet - and they smelled badly of dog hair

* Another bedroom closet upstairs had a bed frame stored in it.

* There were no drawers in the twin bedroom downstairs so nowhere to put clothes that don't hang in the closet

* There were two vaccuum cleaners in the pantry - but one was broken.

One of our party fell on the hardwood stairs as he didn't see the last step. He hurt his shoulder quite badly. After that we warned everyone to hold tightly on to the stair rail and even then one more person slipped but was saved by the rail. In certain light (and maybe when you are wearing glasses) the last step is difficult to see - so hold on!

Summary - nice house and with some better housekeeping, tidying and maintenance could be great.

Great Family Getaway

I needed a place to house my family-wife and me, our children and grandchildren for our youngest daughter's wedding which was last Saturday in Charleston. The fact that we were able to rent Monday-Monday, being off-season, was perfect for the Saturday wedding. This house and the amenities exceeded our expectations. The layout is perfect for families or groups with varied needs. Babies can be sleeping in the upstairs bedrooms while the adults can be in one of many available spaces between the porches, patio, upstairs and downstairs living rooms, with no worry of disturbing them. There's plenty of room for everyone, the amenities are great, the neighborhood is quiet and is a great place for walking or biking and the beach is close enough to walk or bike to or access with the provided golf cart. The kitchen was a pleasure to use, plenty of dishes and utensils and a nice gas grill on the patio. The house is very tastefully furnished and the furniture is very comfortable. My only hesitation would be for elderly or handicapped folks - there are lots of stairs to climb. Other than that, I'd highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a great vacation spot.

Home is close to Isle of Palms Marina, Morgan Creek Bar & Grill, Dockside Restaurant & Marina Store. Good if bringing a boat as there is a public boat landing which cost $5 to use, parking lot at marina and off road parking available. Home is also close to a portion of the Wild Dunes Golf Coarse.
