The Founders Residences at Coco Beach Golf Club have spectacular views of El Yunque rain forest and the Atlantic ocean. It is perfectly located just 25 minutes east of SJU airport, 10 minutes from all of the activities of the rain forest, 30 minutes from the marina in Fajardo and easy access to all of the stores, restaurants and history in Old San Juan.
Located on the spectacular atlantic ocean, the only resort in Puerto Rico to host the Puerto Rico Open, the pga tour event, with 7 restaurants, 3 pools, 2 golf courses and more beach than you can imagine.
Inside the resort is the Gran Melia, A kid friendly hotel the Yhi spa for the honeymoon getaway. Try Passion restaurant inside the hotel when you’re here, it’s been winning awards since the day it opened.
When you want to be entertained, relax with great views and play golf, the Coco Beach golf club is fabulous! The greens lounge, practice facilities, championship course, international course and 19th hole snack bar are there for you. Don’t forget, when you’re renting this villa, unlimited golf is included. Owner has a full membership which can be used by renter, including bag storage and the only thing you pay to play a round of golf is the cart fee, instead of per round.
Come and enjoy a beautiful property with a great location!!
Everything about this penthouse condo was as advertised or better. Perfect fit for our family of 7. Very clean and in working order upon our arrival. No problems at all during our entire week. Met Lino (maintenance gentleman)the second day... Very nice, but didn't need him except to work on a bicycle. The resort pool, just a short golf cart ride away, was great...kids really enjoyed both the golf cart and the pool. Only draw back is the beach is not very good either at the condo or at the resort. But Luquillo is only a short 10-15 minute car ride, and it's beautiful...plus you get to enjoy eating at the kiosks after a few hours at the beach. The views all around are amazing...spent a lot of time on the large balconies/ decks. Location is excellent to visit, El Yunque, Fajardo, Luquillo, Old San Juan, horse back riding, etc. Great, very casual places to eat or take out nearby...Verde Barbeque, the Puertorican Bakery. Leiliana, the owner was very nice to work with, responsive, and accommodating a couple of special requests. If we come back to this part of PR, we would very likely stay here again. Unless you want to stay beachfront at a very nice beach, we recommend this unit for everything else. Thanks for sharing your place with us.
Spring break vacation 2016. The Condo is amazing. Spectacular views of Rainforest, ocean, golf course, sunrise & set. Comfortable and spacious for our two families of four. We enjoyed the pools and restaurants at Gran Melia, golf (excellent course great conditions) bike rides, searching for shells, spotting Iguanas, trips to El Yunque rainforest, Old San Juan, and a trip on the SS Tobias to Culebra island. Our favorite foods were from the casual and local: El Verde BBQ, Don Pepe cantina, Richie's, plus sandwiches from Pan Rican Bakery. Our only complaint - not enough time to do everything we wanted to do. Looking forward to renting this condo again.
The condo is stunning--it definitely lives up to the image of beauty and comfort portrayed in the pictures. Unfortunately, I think we reserved it at a bad time, which was the week directly preceding the Puerto Rico Open (the date had not been solidified when we booked the place). Whatever the case, the maintenance schedule was not conducive to a relaxing stay. Workers were directly outside our windows with excessively loud machinery as early as 7:00 a.m. As if being awakened every morning that early weren't bad enough, we couldn't even totally relax with a cup of coffee on the balconies because the noise continued for several hours. And this was not merely golf course maintenance; the building and immediate grounds were being worked on as well. Another issue was with the Gran Melia Resort. There was no entertainment going on the week we were there, and only one restaurant was open for lunch (another was closed altogether). They simply couldn't accommodate in a timely fashion all who were wanting to eat there. This was inconvenient since other options for lunch were several minutes away (the resort is about five minutes away from the condo by golf cart). So, the bottom line is: this is a fantastic unit, and I would recommend booking it. But, if you hope to sleep in, relax on the balconies, and eat your lunches out, I would check into the maintenance schedule and the availability of the Gran Melia's amenities before making your reservation.
The villa/condo is great! There are views on both sides and it is very comfortable and clean. We liked having the golf carts to drive to dinner. That was fun!
The only suggestion our group had was we relied on our smart phones to get us to the resort and the phone wasn't too smart. If you type in the address the owner gives you, the phone takes you to downtown Rio Grande. Type in the Grand Melia resort for a more reliable map/directions. Other that that, we loved it. We plan to return!
Beautiful property. Great beds and pillows! Loved having access to the pools at the Gran Melia. Leilani was very responsive before, during and after our stay. Highly recommend this place!
My family stayed at this property in August and while we agree with the owners descriptions of views views views we did have some concerns. When we arrived at the property we found the place to be unswept and unkempt. I took pictures which I sent to the owner. The great thing is she responded promptly and had housekeeping there the next day to do what should have been done in the first place. We also found all the linens scattered throughout the various rooms so we were on a wild goose chase to find linens and towels for each room for a while. This is not what I would have expected from a property with a 5 star rating not to mention we paid a premium for the rental! When we got all that sorted out (amidst walking on dusty floors and seeing dust covering all furniture surfaces) I uncovered my bed to find and unmade bed underneath! By this time I had just about had enough! i had already spoken to the owner 3 or more times and I decided i just had to start making the best of a not so great situation. The owner does a great job at attending to whatever concerns you do have though including the Wifi not working for the first two days of our stay and the fact that the dishwasher never worked for our entire stay there. Honestly I just did not want to phone her again so we washed all of our dishes by hand. For these reasons I cannot give this place 5 stars and I am surprised that so many others have done so before. I believe this place has the potential to be a five star location but in my opinion I will reserve that rating for a place that pays impeccable attention to detail. We also did not have the best experience with The Gran Melia Resort...the guards stopped and questioned us upon entering the property one day and were very rude. Also the music stops at the bars at 6 pm and the pool gets very quiet...very interesting. Again the property itself is beautiful both the Hotel and Trump Founders Residences. However at the Residences you will notice a lack of maintenance around the property itself. The maintenance gentleman Lino was a gem he was very helpful with whatever we needed. He did say that ever so often a company comes to wash down the building and it really needs it. The entrance/ drive up to the building needs some cleaning as well. The funny thing is I am not a clean freak but I couldn't help but see all of these things. I would really have loved to give this place a great rating but unfortunately I can't.
I would recommend renting a car because there is so much to see on the island. Driving is safe and similar to the us. All roadways are in english and spanish. Waze is a great navigation app that I found works better in Puerto Rico than google maps or anything else. It is real people that report in on roads and conditions, constantly updating.
