The Summer House is located in the village of Dark Harbor on Islesboro, a historic Maine island thirty minutes by ferry from the mainland. Islesboro has a year round population of about 600 that grows significantly in the summer months, and is not so small as to feel isolated or to large and feel like the mainland.
Local attractions include a community Sailing Center, public tennis courts and fitness center, many art galleries and antique shops, community events (concerts, picnics, dances etc.) and miles of ocean front roads for hiking and biking. The house is a 5 min. walk from the Dark Harbor shops and restaurant.
