A charming cottage with breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic before you and Mount Nevis behind you. Nestled in lush gardens a top a quiet road in Gingerland a stone’s throw from Golden Rock Hotel, this idyllic cottage is built in a breezy, open style and is meticulously maintained. The cottage is furnished with a tasteful mix of vintage and new. Taj McCall, approximately 1,800 square feet, has two bedrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, several large fans, an on-deck swimming pool, and even a brand new ice cream maker.
The master bedroom has a Queen and the second bedroom has twin beds. The bathroom has been modernized and a brand-new kitchen has been added with dishwasher. From the new pool and expansive deck, one can hear the ocean waves crashing on Windward Beach and enjoy stargazing at night.
We arrange for easy complimentary pick-up in St. Kitts by our favorite driver, ‘Sea Moss’, who will deliver you to Reggae Beach where you will be taken on a 7-minute boat ride to Nevis. We also provide a welcome basket of groceries, wine and Carib beer. Twice-weekly maid service and all maintenance and utilities are included.
Nevis is a tiny tropical island formed around an extinct volcano with a rainforest around the peak. Though long since independent from its colonial past, it retains a unique British charm. Nevis has escaped heavy development as a tourism spot -- the key to the peace, quiet and leisurely pace that are its greatest charms. The countryside – and Nevis is mostly countryside -- has an untamed and rustic quality, as in herds of goats roaming the roads. The weather is a constant treat. Daytime temperatures seldom vary from a balmy 80°F and it’s comfortably warm at night. Nevis is a wonderful throwback: all the pleasures of the Caribbean, before the Caribbean was overrun with commercialism. A rare and beautiful gem of an island.
The property is absolutely amazing. My wife and I stayed for 9 nights and loved every single one of them. Taking a walk around the garden is wonderful. We had lunch under the mango tree on the property most days and found it incredibly relaxing. Millie was very helpful and arranged everything we needed. I can not say enough wonderful things about this property and we already have scheduled another visit.
We loved Taj McCall. Cottage is roomy, comfortable and well equipped with everything you might need. Interesting books and dvds abound. The grounds are gorgeous and the views from the large deck and plunge pool were magnificent. We enjoyed the natural hot baths (3 days in a row) and had delicious meals at Wilma's (in town), Indian Summer, The Gin Trap and Golden Rock. Transfer from the airport in St. Kitts was professionally done without a hitch. We enjoyed the monkeys frolicking in the trees nearby, the hummingbirds and the brightest stars we have ever seen. Lovers Beach was our favorite of several we visited. Truly a magical place we would like to return to someday.
Just returned from three weeks....
First -- believe the stellar reviews of this property. It was our first visit to Nevis and Taj -- the superlatives are each/all deserved. There was a real magic in the synergies of the island and Taj. We really can't think of one without the other -- marvelous places and definitely on our return asap list.
The cottage itself has all the creature comforts of home. The DVD and book library were wonderful surprises. The deck/pool and seascape views were constant highs -- changing with the time of day and mood of the sky. Really worth the trip in their own right.
The position of Taj on the island is perfect: sunrise/sunsets, close to the best restaurants, close to beach options, close to busy town or quiet rural. Taj is private and quiet. Sublime/serene -- easy to forget home
Highly recommended -- superlatives on all fronts. No negatives.
The Taj McCall is a Nevisian hidden gem. The photos are nice but do not do this private cottage justice. Complete privacy, luscious gardens & 180 degree view of Nevis. Hang out in the pool, look at the dormant volcano & the night time stars. Natural & beautiful in a way that is not pruned or pretentious. Everything you need right here. Rented a jeep & took it around the island a few times. Visited local artists & ate at Bananas & Golden Rock. Oualie beach is a must. Came as close as I've ever come to taking a photograph of my food...didn't do it, but it was a close call. It was that good. Nevisians are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Quiet, pleasant & really seem to listen when others speak. Still trying to figure out why I came back to 5 degrees & a boatload of snow in NY. Think I left my 💜 there.
We greatly underestimated the loveliness this cottage has to offer. From the photos we were expecting beauty but the photos truly don't do this gem justice. Don't think of this home as a vacation rental. It is much more like staying in someone's private, tastefully appointed, fully-stocked little home while they are away. The experience was outstanding, from the initial booking with Millie through our week long stay in this lovely home. As charming and comfortable as it is indoors though, we spent most of our villa time outside on the huge, well-furnished deck or in the pool. The views are gorgeous, and the landscaping is lush and fragrant. It is quiet, private and romantic. This was the perfect spot for me and my new hubby to enjoy a dreamy caribbean honeymoon.
