Bare necessities in convenient location

  • 3 of 5

This cute little house brings the bare necessities and a lower price to a convenient location.

Our notes:

* There is a washer and dryer - be sure to bring your own laundry detergent, etc. There are signs all over the detergent that is there that tell you you're not to use it

* a queen bed downstairs - soft

* two very hard and uncomfortable double beds in a "loft area"

* two queen beds in an upstairs room that are acceptable

* a living area with TV and cable

* Wifi (although it was a hunt to find the password)

* a kitchen with utensils, but no basic herbs and spices - we had to go buy salt, and several of the spice jars that were provided were old and lumpy, or empty. There is no dishwasher so be prepared to hand wash your own dishes.

* fans, most of them worked, and even on hot days, it cools off at night, but it's pretty warm during the day

* The shower is about 2 1/2' square and the showerhead is only about 5'9" off the floor - so if you're taller than 5'9" you are bending over in a shower that's so small you don't have a lot of room to move.

* parking is plentiful and easy

* the neighbors were very nice and quiet - we didn't see them but once, but they said, "howdy" and chatted with us for a minute or two

* back yard is very large and was well kept, the deck is very small and chairs were provided

* it was very easy to get to the beaches, downtown, golf course, etc. from here

In short, this house is small, clean, and convenient with the bare necessities for a moderately comfortable stay. Recommended if you're going to be outdoors and/or elsewhere for much of your stay and you need an affordable place to put your head at night.

great location and home

  • 5 of 5

My 2 friends and I rented this great house for the week.

The decor made our stay very comfortable. Walking and driving was convenient. We loved being on the this side of the river, giving us the river walk to access town or beach. This property is very well maintained.
