Overview

Utah Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, sleeps 8

This incredible log cabin is nestled among the huge pine trees of Brighton, Utah. It is surrounded by by the beautiful Wasatch mountains, which make skiing and snowboarding in the winter extremely amazing. Brighton Ski Resort is 10 minutes walking distance, and Solitude Ski Resort is only a 5 minute drive. The snow up here is the greatest snow on earth! The Nordic Center is a 5 minute walk, and offers snow covered trails for cross country skiing or snow shoeing in winter, or hiking in the summer. Silver Lake is located here at the Nordic center, and offers amazing hiking trails, and great fishing. Trout abound in this beautiful mountain lake. The cabin itself is secluded, and off the main road. It is a total gut and remodel with no expenses spared. All is new inside and out with the exception of the two story fireplace, and the full log walls. This beautiful cabin is full of charm. There is nothing more cozy than sitting in front of the fireplace on a frosty winter day.

Moose and deer are a common sight right outside of the cabin as well as over at Silver Lake.

P.S. No television or internet.

About Mark Richardson

We bought this old family cabin about three years ago. It was in extreme disrepair. We have completely rebuilt it, keeping the parts that had tons of character like the two story stone fireplace and the whole log walls. We added dormers, a new roof, an entirely new kitchen and bathroom complete with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and granite tub surround.

We have filled it with all the amenites that anyone would want in a mountain getaway.

Mark Richardson purchased this cabin in 2009

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin truly offers the best combination of the rustic beauty of a hand hewn log cabin with all the modern amenities. It was literally torn down to the four log walls and the chimney and rebuilt. In addition to being walking distance to the Brighton chairlifts and Solitude Nordic Center, you can ski back to the cabin if you don't mind taking a brief shortcut out of bounds from Brighton.

perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This cabin worked out great for us during our ski trip in Utah. It is situated right between Solitude and Brighton ski resorts-less than 5 minute drive to each. It is a short walk to the Nordic center to cross country ski and snowshoe. If you'd rather spend your time enjoying the outdoors than driving or riding a bus to get to where you're going to ski, then this is the place for you! The cabin was clean; the photos represented the cabin well; the kitchen was well-equipped; the fireplace was great (and plenty of wood), lots of games to choose from. In short, we had everything we needed! The owner's directions from the airport led us right there without a problem. We rented a 4WD vehicle from Rugged Rental (we had a very good experience with them). I would NOT recommend trying to get there without 4WD. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for this great cabin!

Cozy Cabin Review

  • 5 of 5

The Cozy Cabin was everything we hoped for and more. It was tastefully and comfortably appointed. The hosts were incredibly generous with their provisioning, including a well equipped and stocked kitchen, firewood, and local area information. The location was fantastic for skiing at Brighton and Solitude. I'm not sure how, but they also arranged for fresh snow on two of our four days!

Comfortable and homey

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stay at the cozy cabin and will likely not be our last. It was in a perfect location and had a rustic feel but with modern amenities. We had everything we could possibly need and the owners were quick to answer any questions we had. Our son is stationed in Wyoming and this made a perfect place to meet for a family vacation. There are not enough stars to rate this quaint cabin. I would highly recommend a stay at this home away from home.

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we walked in the door we knew we were in for a treat! There was wood for the awesome fireplace (had fun watching the city-men chopping wood!), super comfy lambskin-like throws for mornings with coffee & a fondue surprise! I want to go back....soon!

Brighton Gem

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time at Mark and Jami's Cozy Log Cabin. Both visits were awesome! The house is charming and cozy. It is outfitted like a home rather than a rental - kitchen equipment, condiments, snowshoes, hand warmers, and fondue setup. More like staying at a friend's house than a sterile rental. My son's birthday occurred during this visit and I was able to throw together an apple crisp with apples we brought and baking ingredients available at the house. We arrived early and met Mark and Jami and learned some interesting history about the cabin. Super friendly and welcoming hosts! I've recommended this property to several friends. I'd give it six stars if I could!
