Beautiful property inside and out!

  • 5 of 5

We are just back from a week's stay, along with our beloved pets, at this gorgeous property. Matt and Carissa have made every effort to make a stay there as comfortable as possible, in their beautifully decorated house with a to-die-for water front and deck. It is clear that they love their home and property and maintain it to very high standards and with numerous unexpected details, and impeccable housekeeping. By far and away, the majority of our hours were spent on the massive new deck overlooking the lake listening to the loons in the distance, or down below at the well-constructed deep fire pit. A wonderful place to make family memories; a hard place to leave. We are counting the days until a return next year.

Beautiful House on a Quiet Lake

  • 5 of 5

We had two families sharing the house and didn't feel crowded at all. The kids loved the bunk beds and spent a lot of time in the "secret room" once they discovered it. The deck was spacious and where was we spent a lot of time when not in the water. The paddleboard, kayaks and floats were all in good shape and saw a lot of use. The central air conditioning upstairs was a welcome relief as we ran into a few warm humid days. It would have been helpful if there was a window air conditioner in the downstairs bedroom as it was uncomfortably warm a few nights (the windows are on the same wall and didn't provide much circulation when we opened them at night in attempt to cool the room down.

The generator came in handy when we lost power on day six of our stay. Other than a brief interruption in electrical service the system powered the house for the duration of our stay. Matt was right on the situation and texted us to let us that the house was on generator power.

I would definitely recommend the house without reservation to anyone who is considering renting it.

Very comfortable and clean house with a great deck with beautiful views of the lake

  • 5 of 5

Great house with all the comforts, full linens package, high end appliances, viking 6 burner stove, back-up generator, air conditioned, large dinning room table, plenty of comfortable couches and chairs, comfortable beds and a great deck with new Adirondack chairs. Fire pit near the lake.

Nice dock with good swimming and boating. House comes with a kayak and canoe. Kids Camp next door did not detract from a great week on the lake.

Even better than last year

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at Crescent Lake. We liked the lake and the house so much last year (scroll down and read last year's review), we decided to return. We were pleasantly surprised that the house was not only as nice as we remembered, it was nicer. Matt and Carissa added central air and, because there were some very hot days, we really appreciated it. The house is very well cared for and Matt and Carissa are responsive and friendly homeowners. We (10 of us) enjoyed the lake, dock, deck, kayaks, and paddle board. It was hard to get the kids out of the water. This is a great place for large or extended families to spend time together. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved this house!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented this home with 2 other families. We have been renting a house together every summer for 5 years now. This was by far the best rental we have had yet. The house and property is spectacular. It is beautifully furnished and decorated, extremely clean and well taken care of. Such a spacious home with an open concept. All of the rooms are quite large and the kitchen has everything that you need. The house also has central air conditioning which is a bonus in my book! My dealings with the landlord were fabulous. Prior to our arrival, Matt was so responsive and answered each and every question I had about the house almost immediately. He was also very responsive during our stay as we had a couple of questions during the week. I am not sure who enjoyed this home more - the adults or our children. So much fun every day. Beautiful accommodations. Everyone was comfortable and had privacy. Plenty of room!! And the secret playroom was quite a hit with the kids!!! The lake is absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful. We spent countless hours in the water - canoeing, kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding. We also spent a lot of time on our boat and the kids went tubing every day. We even found a place that delivered jet skis to us which was a lot of fun. In the evening, we enjoyed a lot of time out on the deck and by the fire pit or laying in the hammock under the trees. We never left the house once the entire week other than to pick up some groceries. Crescent Lake is very quiet so there is not a lot of traffic on the lake which is ideal when you have children tubing and swimming out there all day. What a find! We will most definitely be back again next year. Thank you Matt and Carissa for opening your home to us!

Beautiful week on Crescent Lake!

  • 5 of 5

This Crescent Lake property is perfect! This was our second consecutive year renting this home and we will definitely return next year. The owners are very professional and personable and take pride in the home, which is apparent. The home is beautifully decorated and clean with plenty of room for everyone, (both open spaces for group time as well as space for alone time). The placement on the lake is ideal and the sunsets and stars are what summer family memories are made of. We rented a pontoon boat for the week which was great for tubing and trolling around the shores fishing and taking in the sunset and Bald Eagle sightings. They also have a canoe, kayak and a paddle board if those are more your speed. The surrounding areas are very accessible, locals are friendly and you can find whatever it is you are looking for. The great part is coming back "home" to your private lot and your beautiful view of the lake!

Car: necessary

Crescent Lake is situated in the beautiful Sebago Lakes Region and this elegant, modern home is located on the desirable southern shore of the lake. This smaller, quieter lake is suitable for children of all ages. Enjoy all of your favorite freshwater activities, fishing, boating, water skiing, tubing, kayaking, etc. (rental comes with two kayaks and a canoe!). For the nature enthusiasts you may paddle or motor your way up the Tenney River where wildlife abounds. This river connects Crescent Lake to the larger Panther Pond. Close proximity to Freeport and Portland offers a multitude of shopping and dining experiences.

The fall is our favorite time of the year on the lake; apple picking, hayrides, and nature walks. Located just a few miles away is Rattlesnake Mountain which offers great family hiking activities. In the winter months we are within easy driving distance to some great skiing including Shawnee Peak, Lost Valley and Sunday River. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, skating, and snowshoeing are all available at your front door, and all the attractions of Portland are only 30 minutes away!

Like all homes in the area, the house has well water. The supply of water is adequate for normal, reasonable cleaning, cooking and bathing. Despite close proximity to the lake, excessive use of water may cause the well to run dry, resulting in the need for time to recover. Note: Dirtbikes, ATVs and off-road vehicles are strictly forbidden by the road association.
