Amazing Rental!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this house for the New Year. The house was very clean and had all the ammenities a person could ask for. Our kids we entertained both inside with the amazing playroom and out sitting by the fire and playing in the snow. The owner of this rental was so accommodating!! I cannot wait to return! This is by far the best rental I have stayed in!

Absolutely wonderful. Everything was as advertised.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house as a base for our annual family Thanksgiving reunion. The house is perfect to accommodate a large group for dinner. It was furnished very well. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, great stove. The kids enjoyed making s'mores down at the fire pit. Since it was November, we didn't take advantage of any of the watercraft. Hope to go back in the summer. Matt was very attentive. He emailed right after arrival to make sure everything was fine. The kids loved the hidden room. Great stay.

Fantastic Lakefront Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband, mom and I returned a few weeks ago from a week-long stay at this lovely lakefront house and have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay. From my first inquiry about the place, until the day we left, Matt was extremely responsive, kind and helpful. And the place is absolutely beautiful! So big and clean with all the amenities you could ask for and the most amazing views. Such a wonderful place to enjoy relaxing with a good book, taking a nice, long walk or a lovely trip on the lake in the kayaks included in the rental. We also spent a good amount of time sitting around the firepit enjoying good conversation, the beautiful lake view and yummy s'mores (from the complimentary fixin's left by Matt). And, if you feel like taking a break from all that relaxing, downtown Portland and the breathtaking Portland Head Light lighthouse at Cape Elizabeth are a short 30-minute drive and definitely worth the trip. We had a wonderful week on Crescent Lake and highly recommend this lovely rental.

Spacious House, Perfect Little Lake

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful property and location on a perfect lake. All you have to bring is food and fishing poles, otherwise this gem has everything you need for a relaxing and fun vacation.

There were 3 kayaks, a large canoe, a paddle-board, floats, and plenty of life jackets in all sizes. The dock is equipped with mooring cleats, and there is a nice public launch next to the public swimming area on the southern tip of the lake. There was a full backup canister for the large Weber gas grill. The kitchen is fit for a chef and is fully equipped. The refrigerator is large, but if you are staying with a big group or multiple couples you may want to supplement the space with an extra cooler or two. You will not need salt, pepper, or other basic spices. There were plenty of trash bags, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. on hand. Some of our party did not like the flavor or the cloudiness of well water, so they drank store bought water. However, the house water was suitable for drinking and our group of 6 adults and 2 children never experienced any shortages of water even while showering and doing laundry simultaneously. The house is situated on a hill providing good views (wooded) of the lake from the main floor deck. A bald eagle even perched in a branch several feet above us to survey the surroundings. The deep fire pit is down near the water, several steps from a dock that is well suited for boating, swimming, fishing, sitting, or sunbathing. Note that the dock is down a hill, and there are multiple stone steps that must be navigated as shown in the pictures. This may be difficult for elderly or injured/disabled without some assistance. The provided watercraft all had good handles and were easy for two people to manage down and up the stairs. Stores, restaurants, mini-golf, ice cream, etc. are all within a short drive. If it rains, there are three TVs (with DVD players), books, numerous games, and plenty of space and comfortable chairs for hanging or spreading out. The TV has multiple HDMI hookups. There is also Wi-Fi available throughout the entire house. The kids loved the hidden playroom and had fun on the sturdy playground out front. As indicated, there is no AC. There are multiple fans (ceiling and stand fans) that help considerably on hot days.

Matt made it clear that he was available to assist us with any/all needs - but it turns out that we did not need a thing. I would definitely stay here again. 5 out of 5 stars.

Big beautiful modern lake house

  • 4 of 5

This is a beautiful and comfortable house with much attention to detail. It has a great "cooks" kitchen which is well appointed. Loved the large open floor plan and wrap around deck that overlooks the lake. The fire pit was great in the evenings for making smores :) It is a great vacation place for families with young children.

The only draw back to this otherwise lovely property was the close proximity to the noisy summer camp next door with their loud speaker announcements.

Great family vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

Really wonderful. Our extended family (5 adults and 5 grandchildren between 18 and 10) had a relaxing and totally enjoyable time on Crescent Lake. The house is beautiful with everything you need for preparing food, playing games, quietly reading, and spreading out. We loved the deck – spacious, airy, and almost always able to find a shady spot. The lake itself is perfect for swimming (great water temperature in late July), kayaking, canoeing, fishing, especially learning to use the paddleboard. There are plenty of life jackets. Matt is a totally responsible and responsive owner – checked in with us when we arrived and quickly got back to us with answers to questions. The surprise package waiting our arrival with fixings for s’mores was enjoyed by everyone. Did I mention that there’s a great campfire spot? Everyone agreed that this would be a fine place to spend another week next summer

Car: necessary

Crescent Lake is situated in the beautiful Sebago Lakes Region and this elegant, modern home is located on the desirable southern shore of the lake. This smaller, quieter lake is suitable for children of all ages. Enjoy all of your favorite freshwater activities, fishing, boating, water skiing, tubing, kayaking, etc. (rental comes with two kayaks and a canoe!). For the nature enthusiasts you may paddle or motor your way up the Tenney River where wildlife abounds. This river connects Crescent Lake to the larger Panther Pond. Close proximity to Freeport and Portland offers a multitude of shopping and dining experiences.

The fall is our favorite time of the year on the lake; apple picking, hayrides, and nature walks. Located just a few miles away is Rattlesnake Mountain which offers great family hiking activities. In the winter months we are within easy driving distance to some great skiing including Shawnee Peak, Lost Valley and Sunday River. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, skating, and snowshoeing are all available at your front door, and all the attractions of Portland are only 30 minutes away!

Like all homes in the area, the house has well water. The supply of water is adequate for normal, reasonable cleaning, cooking and bathing. Despite close proximity to the lake, excessive use of water may cause the well to run dry, resulting in the need for time to recover. Note: Dirtbikes, ATVs and off-road vehicles are strictly forbidden by the road association.
