You are in Luberon. The city of Apt is 9 km away. The villages of Bonneux, Ménerbes, Lacoste, Roussillon and Gordes are located less than 20 km away.

In a quiet but not secluded area. In the shade of the olive trees, the house is part of a houses estate on a 5000 sq.m ground, each with a private entrance.

The automatic gate reveals the two parts of the single storey building, linked through a veranda facing the enclosed private pool (4mx7m). The sleeping area is composed of 2 air-conditioned bedrooms (bed of 180 cm and 160 cm), each with their own private bathroom and toilets.

In the living area, two steps lead you to one spacious and bright living room, with an Internet area, lit up by two large bay windows. This room opens on a third bedroom (2 beds of 90 cm), a third bathroom with toilets and a self-catering kitchen, fully fitted (refrigerator, oven, wine cellar and even a piano).

The kitchen has an access to the covered terrace and the pool.

It is the countryside; the charm and the beauty of the old stones and pools must not distract the parents from watching the young children.

An outstanding property

This is a beautiful, very comfortable and spacious house in a lovely tranquil situation. It is located on a large plot with lots of different seating areas outside; the roof terrace has particularly stunning views across the valley to the mountains on the other side. The house is furnished with great style and taste mixing contemporary and antique pieces and the kitchen is superbly equipped.

The village centre is a few minutes walk away along a private lane and we used both boulangeries, the boucherie and the general dealers. We often had a mid morning coffee at one of the cafes and spent a pleasant time people-watching. It is well worth the effort to walk up to the chateau and dam above the village and also to the windmill.

We visited lots of the hilltop villages in the area as well as going further afield to Arles and Avignon. Everywhere was lovely and the scenery was enhanced by the lavender which was just starting to bloom but returning to the house and the pool on hot days was always a joy.

Finally, we cannot speak highly enough of Antoine and Claude who are absolutely lovely, kind and generous people. They made our holiday perfect and we cannot thank them enough.

Great House, Peaceful Location, Friendly Owners

After 5 nights in Nice, my wife, ten-month old daughter and I drove to Provence to spend 5 nights at this property.

From the initial contact thru this site, the owner Antoine was very prompt in responding and when we met him, his wife, their daughter and grandchildren, they were very friendly and gracious, even with limited English, which was still far better than our non-existing French. They were very accommodating and provided for a pack and play and high chair for our daughter. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and dishes you need to cook, and many condiments and oils you hate to buy just to use a tiny portion while on vacation.

The rental house sits on the front of the property, while the owners live on a separate house behind. It is a very quiet neighborhood, just minutes from St. Saturnin les Apt. We were able to drive around Provence and get to the different villages without any trouble. Keep in mind that most of the roads in this region are narrow so it takes longer to get to places. Speed limit is usually 70kph or 45mph, but we came here to experience life as lived by the locals, and not to hit all possible tourist sights. We spent several afternoons at the house, enjoying the outdoor space (but not the pool as it was not warm enough for us), preparing dinner with the fresh produce from the various markets in the region. The Apt market is one of the largest one in the region, and it is less than 15 minutes away.

The house was big for our needs, but we would highly recommend it to anyone who needs more than 1 bedroom. We would definitely consider renting it again if we make it back to Provence (and we hope we do).

A Gem in Luberon: Charming Property and Outstanding Amenities

We spent a fantastic week in this house situated within walking distance of the historic center of St Saturnin-lès-Apt, thanks to the house itself and – just as much – thanks to the owners who live next door.

First, the property: it is ideally located in a hillside, charming village of the Luberon area, and is set in a beautiful olive grove. It is perfect for a family with children, as the pool is gated and so is the entire property. It is also perfect for a stay among several couples thanks to 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms being nicely spread throughout the house, and to several areas where to sit and relax, either indoor or outdoor. The house is outstandingly clean and equipped, with all the amenities when spending time at home: every appliance in the kitchen worked flawlessly (including espresso maker and beer dispenser!), as did the air conditioning throughout the house, as well as the media and Internet connections. The house is also very tastefully decorated, and the pool area is charming with surrounding trees and a fountain.

Next, the location: visiting most of the interesting Luberon villages such as Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Ménerbes, and many others, is typically a half-hour drive or less. Also, being located in the eastern part of the Luberon, it is a matter of one and a half hours to drive to the beautiful areas of Haute Provence, such as the lavender fields of Valensole, or Moustiers Sainte-Marie, or the world-famous area of Gorges du Verdon.

Last but not least, the owners: it is hard to do justice to the class and generosity of the owners. We arrived very late one evening after a long trip from the US West Coast with a connection in Paris, and travel-exhausted children. The owner was there at that late hour, and he nicely gave us all the necessary information and answered all of our questions. The next morning, we found a basket of fresh croissants left by the door, courtesy of the owners Antoine and Claude who imagined we’d be too jetlagged to get to a bakery in the morning! And that was just the first example of similar gestures of thoughtfulness throughout the week: a bag of delicious cherries from the market one day, or always glad and available to answer questions and give excellent advice about the area's attractions and restaurants.

Bottom line: we have excellent memories of every aspect of our week in this property and very highly recommend it.

Two glorious weeks in St. Saturnin les Apt

Thank you Claude and Antoine for two wonderful weeks in St. Saturnin les Apt! The house is beautiful, immaculate and with such attention to detail so as to make us feel always comfortable and at home. The house is secluded yet close to this charming village centre, with every convenience necessary to either just relax or to enjoy cooking the wonderful food available at the local markets. The lovely swimming pool is surrounded by fig and olive trees, flowers and shrubs and our hosts were on hand whenever we needed help or advice. After 4 visits to Provence, this is easily our favourite place to rent. We hope to return as soon as possible. Thank you!!

Perfect Location in the Luberon

In May 2015, four of us spent 11 wonderful days in Antoine and Claude’s beautiful house. We traveled here to cycle, explore, visit markets, enjoy the food, and relax. We successfully accomplished all. To describe the charms of Analouise and Saint Saturnin les Apt, it is important to set the scene: centrally located in the sunny, beautiful, vineyard and cherry tree-laced Luberon Valley of Provence – no more than 70 minutes from the Marseille airport. Within 25 kilometers are the famous “Les Plus Beaux” villages of Gordes, Roussilon, Menerbes, and Bonnieux. Nearby you will find many other less famous but worthy villages (Murs, Joucas, Saignon, Viens, Simiaine–la-Rononde, Sault, etc). How St. Saturnin and these other villages escaped the “Les Plus Beaux” designation is a mystery … but that keeps them quieter and more interesting for those of us who find them.

The village center of St. Saturnin is a ten minute stroll from the house and has a butcher, two grocery stores, two patisseries, four or five restaurants/bars, a Saturday market, and great ruins. We occasionally drove 10k down to Apt for the supermarche – but generally we found everything we needed in St. Saturnin.

The house is beautiful. It was perfect for two couples and would have been fine for a third couple as well. Two of the bedrooms included an attached shower and toilet. The shower/toilet for the third bedroom (two singles that can be pushed together) was a step away across the hall. The beds were excellent and the air conditioner/heaters (instructions in multiple languages) worked fine after a little study – though in May we barely used it. The kitchen included everything we needed including a (well-stocked) wine cooler and beer tender! There are multiple dining areas including a nice table in the kitchen and several tables in the courtyard surrounding the pool (sun or shade as needed).

For the cyclist, quiet roads and cycle paths radiate from St. Saturnin: you can find rolling roads around the valley or superb, 1000 meter climbs onto the Vaucluse Plateau directly above the house. Both the Gorge de la Nesque and Mont Ventoux are within reach for strong cyclists – especially with a short shuttle.
