About Rachel Penny
Cassimir East is owned by a mother-daughter pair looking to share their love of Emerald Isle and have a little fun on the side! Born & Bred in North Carolina. I have always enjoyed the beach. My two children and I spent a lot of time in Emerald Isle, when they were small. It is so peaceful there - every single mom needs a quiet retreat to charge her batteries or regain her sanity. I have recently returned to the area and really enjoy my new home. My favorite thing about Cassimir East, which is rather unique, is that the unit faces due south. You can enjoy a steaming cup of coffee on your private balcony while watching the sunrise or the dolphins play in the surf, and you can enjoy a nice glass of wine from the deck over looking the waves while enjoying the sunset. There's a lot to discover on the Crystal Coast, but I always look forward to the slow pace, great food, and southern hospitality at its finest.'

Why Rachel Penny chose Emerald Isle
Emerald Isle is in a convenient location, just a short drive from Raleigh, NC and easy to get to. There is a good balance of local culture and commercial development. You can't beat the slow pace and friendly atmosphere of the Crystal Coast. I wanted to buy property in Spinnakers Reach because of it’s great reputation, always being well-maintained, colorful homes, relaxed atmosphere and just everyday happy vacationers. Emerald Isle is a nice, quiet, resort town and just a great place to be… I love watching the dolphins from the master suite every month of the year… Come experience the magic!
What makes this House unique
Cassimir East is fortunate to not only be oceanfront, but also have exclusive private beach access. My absolute favorite part is the private balcony from the master bedroom. Nothing beats leaving the door open and letting the natural sounds of the waves put you to sleep. We have seen dolphins every month of the year. It just does not get any better than waking up in the morning and gleefully seeing the dolphins, or even sometimes a pod of whales, from the master balcony. Walking the beach is a favorite! Almost 6 miles round-trip to the fishing pier…it is so enjoyable to walk to the pier, sit on the pier and read a book and/or watch the fisherman. Walking to the right is about a mile down and a mile back to the Point.

The house is fun, colorful, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We had a wonderful family week. The house fit our needs very well. The owner's quick, thoughtful response to a small problem was great.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so thankful that we got to share our home with your family this fall. We hope you will join us again soon!

Great Labor Day Time Away
Last minute find after Hurricane Dorian stopped out FL vacation. The home is very well maintained and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Right on the beach with great views, very much was able to relax on back porch. Easy access to beach, close to dining and drinks too.
We were so glad we were able to accommodate your family last-minute to help you avoid Dorian in Florida. I'm glad that you all had a wonderful time and we hope to see you again soon!

Perfect Place for a family!
We have enjoyed EI a few times before but this house made us love it even more. We traveled with two adults and our children ages 13-2. It was right on the beach which is clean and beautiful. The views from the house were perfect. We cooked dinner most nights and had everything we needed as far as cooking equipment. Everything was clean and our little kids (and big ones too) loved the boat book nook under the stairs. Our 3 year old would wake up to go down and “drive the boat” each morning. Easy drive to town. The complex pool (although not huge) was loved by the kids and never too busy.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We were thrilled to share our home with your family this summer. I'm glad the kids found their own special place in the "boat nook." We hope we get to see you again soon.

Perfect spot in Emerald Isle
We were moved to this house after our first VRBO house had a pipe burst. This house was amazing. Roomy, amazing location, great owners who are great with communication, and fully stocked. Highly recommend!
We were so glad that we were able to accommodate your family and help you resume a peaceful and wonderful vacation. We hope to see you guys again soon!

Truly ON the beach
We had a wonderful visit! The location of the house is fantastic. You truly can't beat the views and we spent a lot of time enjoying them from the living room and deck. Rachel and Jane are also very responsive and helpful. Our only qualm was that only 1 of the bedrooms had curtains that kept the room dark before sunset and after the sun came up. We had kids with us who were up with the sun every day. Other than that, the house was great!
We're so glad that you and your family joined us at our home! Thank you for the feedback about the black out curtains. While we continue our improvements over the fall and winter, we will definitely take that into consideration. We hope to see you guys again soon!
We stayed at this location some years ago, but since then the property has declined. The “gaming” area once had an air conditioning unit to provide comfort for all who ventured downstairs, however this trip, we were left with a very hot room which we did not enjoy- as we didn’t use it. The musky smell was also overwhelming!
We had issues with ants in several rooms; to which the property owner was notified. The manager/s responded very quickly, but some things are not a quick fix.
The house needs a renovation to accommodate larger families. The bedroom on the main level does not have a dresser/chest of drawers to place clothing (living out of a suitcase is tough ... for an entire week).
However, the kitchen is well stocked with supplies and appliances. The view from the deck is phenomenal and the location is great.
Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that you did not have a stay worthy of a five-star review, which is what we strive for for each of our guests. Emerald Isle did experience a direct hit from Hurricane Florence last fall and many properties needed significant work to even be livable, which took first priority. While we felt fortunate to have been able to have completed a new roof, new deck, and new windows and doors since then, due to the high demand of work in the area, having all of the desired work (especially aesthetic touches) completed has been a difficult task scheduling. We do plan to continue to make improvements throughout the house during the fall and winter of this year. We have had an AC unit in the garage playroom, which had to be removed for the new window installation. We plan to put in a new window unit shortly. In regards to the den, which is a private sleeping space, we try to be transparent on our site that it is not a "bedroom," but a room with a queen sized bed and the ability to close off the doors. It does not have a closet, so it cannot be considered a bedroom, despite what other owners may indicate. We are happy to take your feedback to find creative ways to store clothing in that room to make it more comfortable for a week-long stay.
Thanks again for your feedback, and hopefully next time you return, you will get to see all of the hard work we're putting into our home to make it enjoyable for all of our guests.
