This Maui oceanfront vacation condo is just 50 feet from the ocean with a 180-degree unobstructed ocean view featuring neighboring islands of Molokai and Lanai. The condo includes:

- two enclosed private bedrooms,

- two full bathrooms (granite shower in each),

- full kitchen,

- dining area,

- living room with 47' flat TV, Blue-Ray/DVD player and stereo with MP3 and Bluetooth connection,

- private lanai, and

- a loft office/reading area with wireless printer/scanner.

The condominium is located on top (3rd) floor of a small, low-rise complex just north of Ka'anapali. The complex and surrounding neighborhood are uncrowded, yet all west Maui attractions and activities are very close. Lahaina, Ka'anapali, Kahana, Napili and Kapalua are all within 5 miles.

Open, bright and private, this updated two-story townhouse condo features 2 enclosed bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen and a separate loft office/reading area with computer and printer/scanner. Enjoy one upstairs bedroom with California King size bed, and one downstairs bedroom with Queen size bed. Both bedrooms are enclosed (unlike some condos that count an open loft as a second bedroom.) Great for two couples or singles traveling together. Fully-equipped granite kitchen includes coffee maker, dishwasher, Jenn-Air radiant cooktop, conventional/convection and microwave ovens, rice cooker, refrigerator with ice maker, oversized disposal, toaster, and blender. New stainless refrigerator, dishwasher, convection oven and new carpet throughout. 50" wall-mounted flat-screen TV in the living room, Blu-Ray/DVD player and stereo with input for mp3 player/iPod/smartphone. 30' flat-screen TV with DVD player in upstairs bedroom. Digital cable service and broadband wi-fi throughout the complex at no extra charge.

Two identical bathrooms feature walk-in granite showers with height-adjustable shower head/hand shower, granite counters, and vessel sinks.

The condo has a loft office/reading area (separate from the private enclosed bedrooms) with wireless laser printer/scanner available free for guest use, good lighting and comfortable seating. If you bring your laptop (or wi-fi enabled device such as smartphone or tablet) you can use the free wireless broadband Internet access available throughout the complex (even by the pool). Useful for getting some work done while on vacation (if you must), or searching and booking activities on Maui.

Ceiling fans in all rooms and refreshing island Trade winds keep you naturally cool. Dine on your private lanai (balcony) with a spectacular 2-island ocean view. Fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean.

Learn to blow a conch shell in the traditional Hawaiian ceremony to bless the next day's weather while viewing the sunset every evening. Relax by the pool or swim in the ocean. See rainbows, sea turtles and dolphins from your private lanai. Humpback whales are often seen from December to April (and sometimes in November and May). Sea turtles come within feet of the shore every day to feed, and are wonderful to watch while snorkeling.

ON-SITE Manager. No lockbox, and no need drive to an offsite location to pick up keys when you arrive. Pick up your keys from our friendly, helpful rental manager, just 150 feet from your front door. She will assist you with any needs that arise during your stay (or in the unlikely event of a problem), and can provide a wealth of knowledge regarding island attractions, restaurants and activities. She maintains a stock of light bulbs, kitchen appliances, etc. for immediate replacement in the unlikely event of problems. (Note: Many condos in the area and even in our complex are managed by off-site companies. Be sure to understand the difference.)

This Maui condo can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests in 2 beds. There are no other sleeping accommodations.

We're a northern California family who have been vacationing in Maui since the mid-1980s. After searching many west Maui condo complexes, we purchased our unit at the Kulakane in 2007, and travel there several times each year to enjoy it and keep the condo in top shape.

Why David chose Lahaina

We especially love upper west Maui, where the views of the neighbor islands of Molokai and Lanai are unmatched elsewhere on Maui - or any other tropical location we have been to. We chose Kulakane 302 specifically for the spectacular, unobstructed 180-degree two-island ocean view, unique architecture, friendly vibe, easy beach/ocean access and oceanside pool. (We were surprised to find that many neighboring properties have their pool located on parking lot side of the building, with no ocean view.) The Kulakane is a small, low-rise (3 stories) complex in the quiet Honokowai district, between Kaanapali and Kapalua. The historic village of Lahaina, once a whaling port, is probably the most popular tourist and shopping attraction on Maui. It is a short 10-minute drive from our condo, which allows us to enjoy the town when we choose, and enjoy the quiet and privacy of Honokowai when we prefer to avoid the crowds. Two of Maui's premier golf locations, Kapalua and Kaanapali, are also within an easy 10-minute drive. Surf breaks, ranging from beginner level (Puamana, Laniupoko) to advanced (Honolua Bay) are also within a 15-minute drive. The Honokowai Farmer's Market is held on MWF mornings, just 200 yards from our condo. Snorkel equipment, surfboard, mopeds, and video and video rentals are all available within 1/2 mile of the condo.

What makes this condo unique

Kulakane 302 directly faces the ocean, and is just 50 feet from the water's edge. From your private lanai (balcony), you will see only the ocean, the neighbor islands, the beach and some of the local sea life (such as sea turtles, whales and dolphins). The lanai is really an extension of the living room - it has an overhanging roof, side walls and is carpeted, so you can comfortably enjoy it in any weather, including tropical sprinkles. We sometimes sit on the lanai, surfing the web on our laptops (via the free Wi-Fi network) and watching the surf in front of us.

There is a working office with a wireless laser printer/scanner provided for your use. Stay in email contact with your friends back home, make your arrangements for Maui activities, take care of a few business tasks, print your boarding passes.

We had an amazing stay. The condo was impressive, the beds comfy and the view was breathtaking. We snorkelled right off the beach/seawall in front of the condo. I was worried about no air conditioning but the fans worked well and it did cool off at night. The sound of the ocean is so beautiful. Saw turtles up and close. Saw humpbacks in the distance from the porch. We would stay here again. Alas we could only spend one week here. Mahola.😁

Amaizing stay in Maui

We had a wonderful time (Nov. 23 - Dec.3). The ocean view cannot get better. The condominium is perfect for two couples. The kitchen has everything you need and the unit provides beach chairs, snorkel gear and boogie board. The on site manager (Debbie) was great, always available to help us with any questions. Would definitely go back.

Great location with a wonderful full on ocean view

My wife and I along with our youngest Son and Daughter In Law enjoyed our stay here in October 2017 while attending our Daughters wedding in beautiful Maui. The condo was well appointed and equipped with everything necessary to enjoy our 8 day stay. The view was spectacular and we especially enjoyed mornings and sunsets on the Lanai. The location was ideal with grocery stores and restaurants very close by and only a 10 minute drive to downtown Lahaina which we enjoyed on a few occasions.

The only reason we are rating this property a 4 and not a 5 star is because of no air conditioning, which for us ended up being a little uncomfortable at certain times of the day. There was a number of ceiling and floor fans that helped a lot, but for us air conditioning will be a prerequisite in the future. The on property staff were great, friendly and very helpful and we would recommend this property to anyone!! Aloha

We loved this place. The location was amazing, the property was very well maintained, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. We snorkeled with turtles and amazing fish every day. Very close to lahaina and other cool places. We'll definitely be back.

Exactly what we were looking for!!

Our party:

- 2 couples from Arizona traveling to Hawaii for the first time. Both celebrating our 25th wedding anniversaries.

Things we liked:

- Bedrooms. Lots of condos we considered had two bedrooms. However, what we found many times was one would look really nice (e.g., master suite) while the other may be a little more ‘basic’ (e.g., Murphy bed). What was great about this one was that both bedrooms were nice and fairly equal. Both had nice size beds, closet space, fans, and bathrooms that had been designed almost identically (complete with tile/stone showers, glass bowl sinks, etc.). If your party consists of two couples, this really makes this unit stand out.

- View. I’m not sure the view from the lanai could get any better. Third floor, 50 feet from the water. Enough said.

- Location. We considered some condos in Kihei (which I’m sure would have been good). However, after driving to Kihei one day, we just thought the Lahaina/Kaanapali area had a much better ‘vibe’ and was a bit prettier overall (e.g., trees seemed more mature and lush, etc.).

- Fruit/Vegetable market. A fresh fruit and vegetable market is only about a 5 minute walk away from the condo. We really enjoyed having it so close and was nice to start a day with fresh mango, pineapple, bananas, etc.

- Staff. The staff was a pleasure to deal with. Tony seemed to really enjoy caring for the grounds as well as any other needs we had. We didn’t need much, but the staff was ready if we did.

- Conveniences/Accessories. We found the unit well stocked with plates, silverware, cutlery, glasses, etc. Also, pleasantly surprised to find snorkel gear, beach chairs, and umbrella. It made it quite easy to move right in and feel at home.

- Office. Not that you’ll want to be working a lot, but it was very nice to have a separate office area (complete with printer) upstairs.

Things to consider:

- No air conditioning. For us Arizonians, this was not a big deal at all. Once we arrived, we opened up all the windows. The constant breezes kept the days endurable and the nights absolutely perfect.

- Not much sand immediately available. Again, for us this was no big deal. We used what sand was there and drove to another beach on a separate day. Proximity to the water and the views more than made up for the lack of sand.

Bottom Line

- Loved this unit! We’d go back in a heartbeat.
