Luxury, downtown location w pool & spa in coveted Clarksville. Walk everywhere.

Bedrooms 4
Space 2,500 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 4 nights

About the property

4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms. Newly renovated.

Stylish, historic home where you can rockstar it up or relax in plush surroundings, just 4 blocks from all the downtown action. The home has been featured in magazines and home show and comes in at 2500 sq ft with 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths.

The home features an open plan and a chef's kitchen executed in walnut and stainless. Flat screen TV in living area and stereo throughout the public areas, inside and outside, ensures everyone is happy. AT&T Giga Wifi throughout.

The master bedroom has a king-sized bed. Two rooms have double beds and one bedroom has a queen-sized bed. Each room has unique character and style.

In front, a hammock swings from the columned front porch. And a cocktail area with music balances the other side of the porch.

Out back is a stylish modern swimming pool with hot tub, a deck, outdoor dining table, gas grill and a deck for soaking in rays poolside.

The rental is on the edge of downtown, in a walkable, historic neighborhood known as Clarksville. There are 6 or 7 restaurants, bars, a wine and liquor store, and a bakery all just a 5-minute walk from the house. Whole Foods' flagship is a 7-minute walk away. We've got plenty of retail shopping nearby: By George, named one of the nation's top fashion boutiques; Anthropologie; BookPeople; Waterloo Records; Lululemon; Kick Pleat; Lush; Amy's Ice Cream; Wildflower Organics; plus a plethora of local galleries and boutiques.

Austin's beloved hike and bike trail around Ladybird Lake is a 10-minute walk away. Gym, yoga and spas are 5 minutes away. The nearest mani-pedi is 3 minutes by car.

All major Austin activities are within a mile or two of the house.

NOTE ON RATES: My minimum stay is 3 nights at $900 each and $725 for additional nights on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday. During festival weekends, my nightly rate raises with the rest of the market.

Because of the delicate nature of the house, all members of the rental party must at least 30 years old and must provide IDs. Renters may not use the location to host events.

We take, on average, only one booking a month so please plan ahead.

Please note: the home is part of a neighborhood and as such is subject to Austin's sound ordinance. From 10:30pm to 7am, you can’t make noise or play an instrument or music that is even audible to the next door neighbors. If either the police or I receive a complaint about your party, your full $2000 Damage Deposit will be forfeited.

About Charles Webre

I am a creative director of a local advertising agency. My job and my personal interests take me out of town often, and I lease out my house when I am gone, investing the money back into the house to make it nicer for the next renter.

I grew up internationally and have done the same in my adult life, living in New York, London, and Paris. Additionally, I travel extensively for pleasure, always as far as I can go. As a result, my home is a working travelers guide. A bibelot from this country, a painting from that. My aesthetic is urban contemporary, with a bit of Zsa-Zsa Gabor thrown in for good measure.

Charles Webre purchased this house in 2004

Why Charles Webre chose Austin

I first lived in the area when I was a student at University of Texas. And then to New York after graduation. But as luck would have it, when I returned 20 years later I was able to find a house on the very same street as I lived on before! The house is as close to downtown as you can get while still having a yard.

I like the elegant nature of an older home. And this one, built in 1915, is elegant but with a modern and relaxed sensibility.

What makes this house unique

As a creative professional, the feel of my space is very important to me. To that end, my house has been designed to the nines, for both aesthetics and comfort. Newly renovated, the home has been featured in magazines and the local home show.

Lovely home and a great location to boot!

Charles is a fabulous host and his attention to details in his home as well as local attractions was helpful in creating a great Spring Break for our family. The beds were the best I have ever slept in.

Very clean and well-appointed house within walking distance of 6th street.

  • 5 of 5

The house was great and had everything we needed to cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The kitchen was well-stocked with high-quality cooking tools. We were able to walk to 6th street several times and went on a few runs along the river. The bathroom in the master suite is great. The host left us a gift package with a variety of items, including two bottles of Lamarca, which my wife and sister greatly enjoyed. If you have a party with 3-4 couples, this house is perfect.

Don't Miss this Amazing Home

  • 5 of 5

Charles Webre's Renovated 1915 Home is all of the following; comfortable, swanky, superior design and detail, high end sheets, completely outfitted kitchen and exceedingly well organized, heavenly beds, deluxe bathrooms and as they say in real estate

Location Location Location! Walking distance to downtown, Whole Foods, restaurants, galleries and plenty of good antique stores.

My husband and I and married children came for our daughter's wedding. This home accommodated all 6 of us comfortably with plenty of space. I loved sitting on the front porch relaxing and listening to the great sound system installed throughout the house. The pool is visible through the ceiling to floor glass

Windows. The only problem with this home is

That you have to leave and go home.

Thank you Charles for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful, relaxing and beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at "Ate Oh Too" for a week during August of 2016, while moving our new Longhorn freshman into his apartment off campus. It was a fantastic place to have some quiet family time before sending him off to college. The home is beautiful, furnished with lovely artwork and interesting knick knacks all over to explore. The pictures barely do it justice. We each had a room and bath and all had a bit of space to spend quiet time, if we wanted it. We came together a lot in the kitchen, where everything you'd need was available. We cooked breakfast and an occasional dinner but mostly just hung out and talked. The pool was lovely as well and we spent quite a bit of time in it, even though it rained almost every day! (completely unusual, we were told, for August)

The best thing about the home, though, is where it's located. So close to lots of remarkable places to eat and drink and shop, but tucked away in a lovely little neighborhood. We walked to dinner many nights (even in the rain) and had fun exploring the antique shop just around the corner. It was also just a quick drive to UT Campus and downtown Austin, so it was very convenient for us.

The owner, Charles, was a delight to work with and left a lovely welcome basket for us when we arrived. Instructions for the house were very thorough and well laid out. Lots of information about places to go to eat or shop, which was very helpful. The house was very "user friendly," which is very much appreciated when in a new place. We completely enjoyed our time in his lovely home, and hope to return during our Longhorn's stay in Austin. Overall, an exceptional experience in an exceptional home.

Beautiful home, great location, wonderful owner

  • 5 of 5

Huge house, great renovations, amazing pool, perfect location and fun eclectic furnishings. And Charles was fantastic... we were not the easiest to deal with as we had people that showed up early and we requested a later check out as well, but Charles was very accommodating and even left us a gift basket full of delicious treats and champs! I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Austin.
