Truly amazing view and wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

We had a beautiful weekend as a family in this very nice home. The views are every bit as amazing as advertised and if you are looking for a fantastic getaway as a family or with friends, we would highly recommend this home.

Relaxing stay away from city life

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Grandview couldn't have been any more peaceful and relaxing. High up top the mountain (about 15 min from town) makes you forget about everything at home. It was very quiet (even with a house next door that you couldn't even really see or hear) and you felt like you were one with nature. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine out on the patio taking in the fresh mountain air and wonderful view of the mountains. The house was very well kept. It was just two of us so we primarily stuck to the first floor and we brought our dog who loved the spacious backyard. Chris was always very prompt in responses (within 24hrs) leading up to our stay and gave numerous recommnedations for hikes in the area and to local restaurants. The wi-if is great if you have Verizon. AT&T services was spotty. We enjoyed the puzzles and games that were also provided. The best part was seeing all the stars at night as you forget how many and how bright they are when living in the city. The Biltmore and Asheville are only 30 minutes away. So Grandview is great for mountain relaxing but still being able to get in some activities. We would definitely go back.

Fantastic house and great views! We enjoyed the stay very much. We will definately be coming back.

House was very clean and everything it was advertised to be. Owner was very nice to deal with. We liked location as it seemed central to many areas of interest. We hit Mt. Mitchell one day and then short drive to Chimney Rock the next. Enjoyed the views from the deck. NICE!

Mountaintop Gem!

  • 5 of 5

This adorable home is located near the top of the mountain which provides spectacular views! The light was on when we arrived late at night which was a warm welcome. The home is as pictured and has everything you and your family will need for your stay. Hair dryers, coffee pot, toaster, blue ray disc players, even a telescope for viewing the stars! With two dens and three bedrooms our family of 5 and family guest were all quite comfortable. The host left detailed information about the home and procedures for check in/out which was very helpful. When a small issue with the humidifier arose, Chris responded immediately and even stopped by to make sure everything was resolved. The fire pit area in the back was an added bonus that most rental locations cannot offer! The home is a great location to downtown and we were able to enjoy seeing the bears who roamed across the road several times during our stay! I highly recommend staying here and would gladly return if our travels bring us back to the area.

The View is stunning!

  • 2 of 5

The drive up to Grandview was adventurous, particularly since we originally followed google maps and it stopped us very short of our destination. We then looked up Chris' directions which were exactly what we needed - DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS!

We found Grandview to be adequate but not up to our expectations when it came to cleanliness.

If you choose Grandview for your stay and intend to cook, bring supplies such as extra paper towels and TP (if there are more than a couple of people in the house) so you don't have to run into town to get some. *We have severe food allergies and have no choice but to stay in to eat which is why we took the house as opposed to staying at a hotel.

Owner's Response: Many years ago a wise man, (my dad), once told me: “Always do your best, you won’t be able to please all of the people all of the time. But don’t let those whom you can’t please prevent you from continuing to do your best.” I have always followed his advise will continue to do so by providing my valuable guests with clean, comfortable and well stocked accommodations. Please refer to my numerous positive reviews as validation of my efforts. Thank you for your interest in Grandview of Black Mountain. Sincerely, Chris
