About Christian

Christian and Carmen, here we are! Both of us are involved in science: Carmen is researcher in chemistry, Christian is a pharmacist. Since we met, in Siena, Italy, we shared a passion for the family (we have two kids), travelling, cuisine, and meeting people from all over the world. With 'Le Stanze di Dante' we wish to reserve visitors the same welcome we experienced in our best stays. We love to provide our guest with suggestions about arts, museums, restaurants... everything delightful about being in Naples.

Christian purchased this apartment in 2005

Great location, wonderful hosts

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is conveniently situated, just off Piazza Dante (and its metro stop), near Piazza Bellini, the Archeological Museum, and Via Toledo. The accommodations are comfortable and as advertised. Nothing luxurious, but a great value. The hosts were wonderful and responsive: there was a minor electrical problem in the apartment and they got it fixed immediately. When our travel itinerary changed at the last minute, they were super flexible and went out of their way to help us.

We felt welcomed and comfortable enough to go out and visit the area. It was close to many sites, shopping and food. Apartment was particularly comfortable. Would go back again and hope to!

Apartment beautiful, but area just ok

  • 4 of 5

We thought the apartment was beautiful, but had a bit of an issue getting into the apartment building from outside....we had to jiggle the key. We also only received 5 free gb of wifi, and that is just not enough with two teenagers. Also, one of the neighbors left for the weekend and turned off the gas, so we returned from a long day of walking to no hot water. However, Christian was very accommodating and talked us through what to do to get the hot water back. Overall, Christian (and Giorgio) were wonderful and the apartment was beautiful and very accommodating!!! The biggest negative about Naples was that we had horrible service at the restaurants we went too. We definitely felt like they did not like Americans :(

Owner's Response: Dear Margaret I am very sorry about these incidents; the difficult lock was put to the building administration attention who unfortunately takes ages to react. The neighbor unintentionally closed your gas valve even though it has our apartment name in capital letter on it. I talked to the guy and he apologized as being in a crazy hurry to catch the latest Ischia ferry. Well, on my side I understand your lack of enough Gigabytes and I finally installed a new dedicated cable broadband WiFi. In Italy, that took me 6 months of continuous bogging at the phone company. As for service in restaurants, and other places in general, taxi, info points, shops, etc, being a big traveller myself, I agree it is absolutely poor, even for italian standard too. It is not related to your being american I can assure that, it is more a lack of care in general, that you see reflected in the overall neglection of the city too. Please, if you ever come back here I will walk you personally in some of the places I know for sure can make you forgive your bad experiences. Have a nice day, thank you for your review. Christian

Great location, great apartment

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our two kids (ages 8 and 5) and loved it. The apartment was so spacious that the kids could have their own loft rooms, and the location could not have been more convenient to fantastic sites, restaurants, and the metro. Christian is a great host and made many useful suggestions of places to see and places to eat. We would recommend this place to anyone! We hope to stay here again ourselves the next time we are in Naples.

Apartment in the heart of Naples

  • 4 of 5

Just recently my husband and I spent 3 nights in this apartment as we traveled through Italy. Christian met us at the apartment and was incredibly kind and helpful. Spent a lot of time recommending restaurants and sights to see as well as answering our many questions. He was extremely quick to respond to the many emails passed between us before our stay. Just an overall excellent host!

The apartment is located in an excellent area where everything is within walking distance. We wanted bakeries and supermarkets close by and that's exactly what we got. All the sights of Naples were within a very short walking distance.

It is a very spacious apartment with two unique spiral staircases leading up to lofts with extra beds. Great for a family!

I do want to mention that the bed was extremely hard. For us, it was hard to get comfortable and sleep well. If you love hard beds-you will have no problem at all. I just wanted to throw that out there for those of you who would find this to be a problem, well, I am giving you an advance heads up!

It is a noisy location with a main street right outside your window. Horns honking and sirens blaring were heard frequently. I will say that this did not bother us. We felt is was all part of the culture and we were there to experience the culture.

We felt very safe here.

We had a lovely time. Thank you, Christian, for making our stay so enjoyable!

Owner's Response: Dear Debbie and Scott, thank you so much for your review, for taking the time to let travellers and me know how you felt and stayed in the apartment. I really enjoyed meeting you and I really appreciated all your suggestions. I will take them all as maximum priority. Me and my wife really love both travelling and hosting mostly to meet people like you sharing experiences. So we're glad you enjoyed this city so peculiar and loved your stay. Thank you very much again and hope to meet again soon! Best wishes! Christian

Our apartment is the ideal accomodation for families and groups of friends: all historical sites and attractions are just there. Spaccanapoli, decumani streets, S. Gregorio Armeno, restaurants, pizzerias, pubs and bars. We highly recommend to spend the entire day out, visiting all those narrow alleys, antiquity shops, entering the many churches and monuments. Then relax sitting in an outside cafe, in one of those very characteristic pizzerias or restaurants, or simply sitting in a sunny spot wherever you are. Time passes easily, you'll forget the long time schedule you've studied for the city on books. Artisans and artists fill every street and shop: antiques, liuthiers, ancient books, paintings, rare and antiques things. But as the night takes on, an easy night life rise: from literary cafe to bio/vegetarian restaurants in piazza Bellini, to the most reknown pizzas in Tribunali street. As you retire for sleep, you'll be ready for the next day: just get out, walk to the ferry dock, and leave for Capri, Ischia. Or Positano, on the Steinbeck's path. But as soon as you come back to the apartment, you'll feel the secure comfort of your home.
