Overview

Northern Michigan House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 7-8)

Cheery cottage (vacation home) with 2 master suites with attached baths, one on each level, and additional guest room and bath on main level. (Great opportunity for reunions with additional rental next door under same owner - see vrbo 3495242).

Sip beverages and enjoy alfresco dining on the covered porch or catch the last of the sunset on the patio with a cool drink while grilling dinner on the gas grill. Or take the night off and go out for a great meal at one of the local restaurants.

Nap in the backyard in a shaded garden hammock or relax with a good book. Open living space describes the kitchen, dining and living space on upper level. Lower level provides an additional living space and master suite with bar refrigerator and coffee maker for the sleepy guests.

Televisions (3), DVD, VHS, stereo unit with CD and IPod player are included. Electric fireplace on lower level can warm up a chilly evening for skiers to relax and lounge with hot chocolate and a good movie and leave you rejuvenated for another day on the slopes. Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands are less than 10 minutes away and Boyne Mountain is a 25 minute ride away in Boyne Falls.

In the warm months, go to the beach, get in a boat, take a walk along the Bluff with beautiful views of the Bay or along the water past beaches and marinas. Ride a bike, play golf or tennis, sightsee or shop 'til you drop in the unique stores you will find in Harbor Springs and Petoskey (across the Bay). Take the ferry (30 minutes away) to Mackinac Island for the day and see the Fort and Arch Rock, among other sights. Rent a horse or take a carriage ride while on the Island.

This house is a short walk to town. Skiing slopes (2) are within 10 minutes of the house. You can reach northern Mi by Lakeshore Express Airlines from Chicago in one hour. Pellston Airport is closest airport and 25 min away.

This home is cozy and comfy and lends itself to gatherings of all sorts. A great getaway for families, or couples/friends, a respite for one or a romantic retreat for two. There's always plenty to do 'up north' and the opportunity to do nothing if the mood strikes.

Keywords: Newly renovated, nicely appointed, casual, all seasons vacation home (cottage) with all the amenities and yard. A restful getaway located on Little Traverse Bay near beaches, golf, shops, skiing, playground, boating, art shows, festivals and activities for all seasons. Perfect for families and friends. Sleeps 7. Two master suites each with attached bath, (1) guest suite and additional bath and laundry space. Open kitchen with all conveniences, dining and living space. Additional living space on lower level. Large outdoor front porch (24'x12') and backyard patio with gas grill. TVs, cable and wifi included. Relax in hammock in large backyard in summer or warm up in front of electric fireplace in winter.

About Barbara Arnold

I grew up spending all my summers in this area since I was 10 yrs. old. I brought my children here for their summers and I hope someday they will do the same when they have children. I love the area in any and all seasons as there is something to be had for everyone regardless of talents, hobbies or interests.

Barbara Arnold purchased this house in 2009

Why Barbara Arnold chose Northern Michigan

I chose this area because of my fond memories but also because of its' universal appeal to others, and the opportunity for year round activities.

Skiing, boating, golfing and tennis are all nearby and the slopes are less than 10 minutes away.

What makes this house unique

I love enjoying the company of friends for beverages and dinner grilled on the patio. I appreciate napping in the shaded garden hammock in the backyard or just relaxing in an adirondack chair late in the day.

Relaxing in front of the fireplace after a day on the nearby slopes of Nubs Nob or Boyne Highlands is warm and restful.

Heading downtown to watch the sailboat races or the yachts arriving on the waterfront or sit by the Bay is a pleasure of mine. Walking the boardwalk down to the beach and sitting and swimming in the afternoon is the best.

Rainy days do not deter me - with book in hand I head to the covered porch and relax. Sometimes the games will emerge when others also congregate on the spacious porch.

I enjoy walking or riding my bike along the Bluff looking at the spectacular views of the Bay and boating on the Bay is even better. Jumping into the clear clean waters of Lake Michigan is a joy.

I always find myself rested and renewed as I head home from this oasis.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home! It was nice and homey! Super clean! It was wonderful staying right in Harbor Springs. Close to the ski hills and wonderful to be able to walk right into downtown. We are already making plans to return next March for a ski weekend! Thx you!

Great vacation rental - adorable & funky! The property is stocked with supplies like home & not like a vacation rental. The owner was very helpful too - enjoyed our stay!

Excellent!

Great place to stay in a very picturesque town. We were able to walk downtown and to the beach and the grocery store was right around the corner. The home was perfect and the kitchen was well equipped. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Northern Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a spring ski weekend. Very close to the ski resorts which was convenient. The house was well appointed, comfortable and clean. More than enough room for our family. Harbor Springs is a quaint northern town with abundant options for restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend this property and location for ski retreats and weekend get-aways!
