Location , Location, Adorable. This easy living, all renovated cottage is blocks from Main Street and Oyster Pond. Chatham has the best beaches, great shopping, restaurants, ice cream shops, biking, golf, and tennis. Kids love Friday night band concerts in the park, minor league baseball games, the enormous town playground and visits to the Monomoy wildlife refuge.
This cottage has all of the modern amenities: cable TV with full package, wi-fi, DVD players, two flat screen TVs and a washer/dryer.
The comfortable furniture is a mix of new and antique. New bathrooms, beds and kitchen make this old house the best of both worlds. Two bedrooms (Queen and two Twin Beds) and a full bath with deep tub upstairs, One bedroom (Full Bed) downstairs off kitchen, powder room and living room.
Central air conditioning and heating systems accommodate year round guests.
Convenient to the events at the Chatham Bars Inn and Wequasset Inn.
Had a great week at this charming, comfortable cottage! The home was clean, beautifully furnished, well organized, and the kitchen amply supplied. Sue, the owner, was helpful and accessible for questions. Located on a quiet and pretty side street, it's an easy walk to town with lots of shops and dining choices and to local beaches. It's also a convenient launching pad for drives to Hyannis to catch the ferry to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard or to other local picturesque towns for exploring. It's hard to imagine a better place to stay in lovely Chatham MA!
This property is centrally located to the downtown part of Chatham, and had everything we needed for our stay with a 14-month old toddler.
The cottage is small, but equipped with all the necessities. Very comfortable and charming.
Having the shed complete with wagon and beach accessories to include chairs, umbrella, toys, was icing on the cake.
My husband and I towed our 9 month old out to The Cape for a long weekend and stayed at the cottage. First off, if your child is into everything, this cottage really is pretty kid-proof. There were virtually no wires sticking out of places, no drawers on the main level to get fingers slammed in, the TV is up high enough so you don't have to worry about the baby pulling it down, etc. The entry porch was perfect for hanging wet towels, and parking the stroller overnight. The washer and dryer were high end (we have the same model at home)- important if you are doing a load every night like we did! The sink in the kitchen is big enough to give a baby a bath with no issues. As an overly cautious first time mom, I really appreciated that Sue stocked the cottage with earth friendly cleaning products, detergents and soaps. It was a nice touch. And, parents, let me tell you, the bed is SO comfortable. After chasing a kid around all day, it was so great to fall into a super comfy bed.
We did have to move the dresser around a bit to fit the pack and play in the second bedroom upstairs and because of that, the door couldn't shut, but that wasn't a big deal at all. There is a large bench at the top of the stairs that we covered with a blanket and used as a changing table - it worked great!
We sat outside and had a few beers while baby napped (bring a monitor and you too can enjoy the outdoors!). The outdoor shower was awesome - we didn't even use the one inside. The proximity to the beach and town was great. You really don't need to touch the car once you are in town. We used the park around the corner from the cottage for some "decompress time" in the afternoons. Bring a baby carrier with you because all of the shops have big signs about not bringing strollers in, so if you want to pop into some shops, strap that baby to you and make it happen.
Overall, we had a great experience at the cottage and would recommend it to other parents and if we ever get to be alone again, I would reckon it would make for a lovely romantic stay as well :-)
I'd start off my saying that as great a job as the pictures do for Sue's cottage, in person it's even nicer. The layout and renovations are awesome - so well thought out. My wife and I, along with our 6 month old spent 4 days here recently and had a great first family vacation! The proximity to Chatham restaurants, cool shops and even beach areas is perfect. Everything is walkable. It's also not too far from a local grocery store, liquor stores, or if you want to venture out to see the rest of the Cape. There is a grill here, along with a kitchen stock full of anything you'll need.
We especially loved the board games, toys for kids, beach chairs in the shed, back patio for cocktails and grilling, central air & heat (we used both based on the tricky weather up there) and what seemed to be brand new renovations to parts of the home. Great place overall, will definitely be back! Thanks Sue!
We stayed at this cottage for our honeymoon and are so grateful that we did.
It is in a great location - walking distance to the main street of Chatham, to the beach, to a nearby park, and more.
The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with everything we needed to make meals for the whole time we were there (though we did also eat out a few times - and that was great as well!). For those that want to cook/grocery shop, the nearby Organic Market has a huge selection of organic, vegetarian, gluten free, etc. food - plus very fresh veggies!
The bed was comfortable. The house was quiet. There is a nice notebook inside from the owner that tells you everything you need to know. Also, for those looking for connection - there's WiFi and TV with full assortment of cable, including Premium channels! (including Showtime on Demand which we used to catch up on Homeland).
The back deck is a great place to eat your meals. It gets great sun through the afternoon and just walks out right from the kitchen.
I can't wait to come back to the Cape and stay here. We absolutely loved it.
This cottage was absolutely adorable!! We had a wonderful time in Chatham. Lovely walk into town with good food and shopping.
The bed was the most comfortable bed I have every slept in. So nice!!!
Chatham - Steps from Main Street.
The cottage has a great location in town, is well equipped and very comfortable. Our family enjoys walking to town for meals, shopping, coffee shops, band concerts, baseball games, playground and even my 3 year old is able to walk to two beaches and back. Chatham is a great place for exploring the rest of Cape Cod, we head out to Provincetown for dinner and whale watching, and to Dennis for antique shops.
