Overview

Chesapeake Bay House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 10)

'Fredelig sted'(peaceful place) is patterned after a Norwegian cottage with curved roof on the outside and knotty pine and birch wood inside.

The bright panoramic view of the Chesapeake from the great room, master bedroom or deck elicits a relaxed, peaceful mood as soon as you arrive. Watch the seagulls or osprey play in the breeze or the dozens of sailboats in the distance while you are curled up on a deck chair in the shade of a huge oak tree. Bring a book or read one from the collection in the book case.

When you are hungry, light the charcoal grill, or the oven, or travel a few minutes to Skipper's Pier or any of the fine restaurants along the river or the bay. Even more restaurants are in nearby Annapolis, just 30 minutes away.

The children or adults can play croquet, badminton or ride the swing in the fenced back yard. Or they can wade or swim in the Bay right in front of the house.

Annapolis has theaters, playhouse, symphony, pirate ship for kids, sight-seeing, crab cruises. Winery tours and tasting and nature trails are nearby including a stand of huge bald cypress trees with native birds. Pier and boat launch 5 minutes away.

Beautiful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a family wedding and had a wonderful time. The house had everything one would require. My mom was very happy as she said it was extremely clean and she used to run a cleaning company. There was plenty of room for everyone and a very close grocery store and many cute little antique stores within walking distance , including a community pier to see the view and watch all the birds and sailboats. Thank you for such a beautiful place to stay.

A good deal in Deale!

  • 5 of 5

We only were able to spend four days here in the small village in Anne Arundel County Md. And look forward to returning to this wonderful waterfront home. With linens and so many extras provided it was easy to move right in without a lot of extra packing. The owners were so easy to work with. When a water leak on the first floor required taking up the floor boards the owner notified us of the problem right away and gave up options for rescheduling. We chose to keep our booking and had no problems dealing with the imperfect floors...the rest of the house was so much more than anticipated. The views spectacular. The kitchen is well stocked and the huge refrigerator was a plus. The house is very comfortable for a group of 8-10 with 3 full bathrooms. The large dining table gave us space to eat and play board games.

I was able to Kayak but needed help to put it in the water as I needed to get it down the steps into the water...the water is very shallow. I was expecting a sandy beach to walk on but was disappointed that there is no beach...my fault though as no beach is mentioned in the description.

We all spent hours on the large deck watching Osprey, sailboats, crabbers and small children playing in the water.

I would recommend this home to anyone wishing to relax and enjoy the view. We cooked there and did take out from a new grocery store , Christopher's which is a short drive from the house..great steamed shrimp and fried chicken. I can't say enough for the location and convenience of this rental and communication process of the owner.

WOW!! A WONDERFUL place to stay!! :-)

  • 5 of 5

WOW! When the Owner says "Million Dollar View"- He is not kidding. A Breathtaking View!! A Beautiful, Beautiful Home. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space yet all stay together. We are from Ga & we met our family from PA at this home for a family vacation. So Glad we did! :-) Everyone fell in Love with this Home. So Peaceful & Relaxing. Has EVERYTHING you need. We did not want to leave! The Landscaping is Gorgeous. Beautiful Flowers Everywhere. Reminds me of a Doll House. The Neighbors were so very friendly. The town was so nice & clean. Relaxing on the back porch, watching the sail boats go by, looking at the beautiful Daisies & Wave Petunia's. I could have sat there all day. We planned our trip to stay here to visit Washington DC, but once you get here, you will think twice if you really wanted to see Washington DC! :-) If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay, look no further, this is what you need. Don't stay in a Hotel or Campground, this is the place to be! Even the beautiful pictures the owner has up does not do this home justice. You will be AMAZED when you see this place! Well worth the money.

So many things to do here, so little time. You can Fish, Crab, Catch Shrimp, Kyack, Swim, Watch TV, Watch the Sail Boats go by, Relax on the Pier, Stop & smell the Beautiful Flowers, Relax on the Huge Porch, Relax on the Upstairs Balcony, BBQ, walk up & down the Shore Line, Watch the Ospray Nesting with their babies, Relax in the Jacuzzi, Listen to the Stero, Cook for Everyone, So many Nice places to Dine, Read the books, Watch the Movies, the list goes on & on... The Owner Dr. Little is so friendly too. We will be back! for Sure! 5 Stars!!!! Thanks Dr. Little for a wonderful Vacation & for letting us stay in your BEAUTIFUL home!! :-)

Lovely Place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for a week with my family, parents, and my brother. There was plenty of space for all of us, and it is a really nice quality house. But the thing we liked the most was the beautiful spot on the bay, and the great views from the house. I took tons of pictures at sunrise, with the moon, with the kids playing, of all the birds.

It was lovely.

West Coast Family Has Incredible Spring Break on the East Coast

  • 5 of 5

Our daughter's family was "home" from Europe for this year but living on the east coast. We got all our family together there for spring break on Chesapeake Bay. Before most of us made our way from Dulles to Deale, our daughter was texting from this house to say "It's awesome!!" When we arrived we had to agree. The home and yard are lovely, the 9 of us (including 2 young grandchildren) were very comfortable there, and we felt so blessed to call this our home for a little while. We could have spent the whole time just enjoying the view of Chesapeake Bay. It is truly amazing. We had a nice combination of staying "at home" and going on a few day trips. We made it to Robert E. Lee's birthplace and to Fredricksburg in one day; St. Mary's City and Pt. Lookout State Park on another day. (Be sure and eat at Courtney's in Wynne). A few of us also got to Annapolis for some sightseeing. We felt very much at home and welcome in Deale. We attended the fire department oyster feed; Maryland Day activities at the marina's historical village; got food from or dined at 4 Deale restaurants; and kept meeting warm, friendly people including some of "our neighbors"! Watching the changing mood of the bay was great entertainment. We saw it as still as a pond, but also with waves and roaring wind! We are used to watching the Pacific Ocean with it's constantly crashing waves, but this huge bay that you can't see across, kept giving us different views! A walk to the end of the pier was a good outing with our almost 3 year old grandson. And what fun to see the fishing boat with our men returning, right from our porch! Since returning home to the Pacific Northwest, I find myself missing the view from this home. We made some great family memories and would love to return. The owner was very helpful to answer questions we had as we planned our trip. We don't have many friends or relatives on the East coast but we would certainly recommend this to anyone headed that way. Thanks for sharing this beautiful, peaceful place.

Truly Million Dollar View on the Chesapeake Bay

  • 5 of 5

Truly it was a Million Dollar View on the Chesapeake Bay from this renting house. We were four families stayed in this house for four days and it was absolutely perfect. The neighborhood has some wonderful old houses and the scenic beauty is pretty good. The back deck was great with BBQ machines and we loved being able to eat outside on the deck as well. This is really a beautiful place. It was also very accessible to downtown and the major freeways. The house has all the comforts of home and then some. Clean, organized and spacious. The rental home is perfect for a group up to 10 members. We were 9 adults and 4 children. This house in Deale was even more than advertised. I will definitely stay here again and recommend to my other friends when coming to Annapolis. Thank you.
