You will love the peace and tranquility of 'Maplewood' when contemplating life's big decisions or small blessings. Beautiful views and abundant wildlife make this the perfect place for a re-energizing retreat.
We all enjoyed your friendly hospitality.
Your home is warm and inviting.
Thank you for the fire Sat. night.
We sat there for a long time while Connor and Keely played with Duke.
We learned a lot about maple syrup and were happy to buy some to take home to family.
All in all it was a perfect place to celebrate Connor's 12th birthday.
We hope to return again.
Thanks from all of us
It is a large property, with a pretty lake/pond that most rooms look out on. There is a ton of living space in the house so if you wanted to do different activities you could. The house is really well equipped. We didn't lack for anything and we cooked and ate around the big table the entire weekend we were there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maplewood. It was a wonderful, relaxing setting. We took advantage of good access to Holmes county and also the nearby hiking and canoeing. Our grandchildren (all under 3) thoroughly enjoyed the house, the outdoors, and especially the spring pump with the self-emptying pail. All utilities and appliances worked without any problems. We didn't find any lack of supplies or tools. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars were the dirty windows and other areas of the home that were not up to our cleanliness expectations. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would come back again.
Maplewood Farm is a beautiful property with lots of space. The area is very peaceful. It has a spring fed pond with lots of blue gill and bass (large bass). At night the whole family would fish the large pond with a camp fire going. Lots of fun was had by all. If you want to get away from it all, this Farm in the country is the perfect place to relax. The home is comfy and spacious with a large deck for grilling and chilling. Terry and Family thanks for sharing your property.
Terry & Helen are absolutely the kindest people, they make you feel as if you have known them all your life. Their home and property is beautiful and all I can say is that the pictures do the property no justice. My guests were in awe, they have never experienced an outdoor farm wedding and were so thrilled over the location and set up. Terry took my husband and I on a tour in his ATV, he had guys there to cut the grassand to make sure everything was in order. He was on hand to help, he helped when the bathroom trailer arrived and was also helpful via email prior to my arrival. Helen and Terry were actually emailing me, asking if I had questions. I look forward to renting out the property again to just relax and actually enjoy and take it all in this time instead of planning a party. Another cool thing is that they produce maple syrup and you can actually buy some and use it for breakfast. Their spring water is great too! Future brides, budget brides, keep Maplewood Farm in mind for your event. It would also be a great place for a church retreat or picnic. It's a great place to unwind, it's beautiful, peaceful and will always holds a special place in my heart. Thank you Terry and Helen!
Our group of friends was looking for a place to gather and visit for the weekend, and we found this house. The location worked well with us traveling in from locations around Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. The house was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The large living room had plenty room and was a great space for everyone to gather, talk, play games, and relax, and the kitchen had plenty of room for us to prepare and serve food and to share meals. We also used the grill, and it was fantastic! The upstairs bedrooms weren't above the main spaces we gathered in, so the two babies that were with us had quiet rooms for napping and to go to sleep while everyone else was gathered together in another room not being quiet. The outdoor areas, including the fire pit and the pond were very nice, and I wish we would have taken more time to enjoy them.
The owner was incredibly friendly and very easy to work with. He made us feel right at home, and we had everything we could possibly need. Since we were primarily there to visit and catch up with each other, we didn't get out to the surrounding area for any sightseeing, but it was close to several local attractions. The house's location is private and very peaceful, but it is still very close to restaurants and other conveniences.
i would highly recommend this property, especially for families and groups of friends.
This was a great place. We had a family ski retreat. Because of warm weather, we opted next day to visit Malabar Farm Maple Tree Sugar Festival. Fantastic. This farm home is clean, quiet, charming and cozy. The owners were very friendly and accommidating. We will be back.
