We've been living in Denver for the last 16 years. We moved to the wonderful Highland Neighborhood 7 years ago and love it! We hope you enjoy your stay!
Christine purchased this house in 2005
The Highland Neighborhood (LoHi) is a vibrant community of great neighbors, amazing restaurants, coffee shops and boutique retail. It's all located just a short walk out of downtown with easy access to the mountains and the airport.
There are over 15 restaurants that you can walk to with in 10 minutes from this location, including some of Denver's highest rated eateries. You can also walk Downtown in 15 minutes. We have two bikes for your enjoyment and you can rent more bikes through Denver's incredible B-Cycle program just a few blocks away to access all of Denver. If you are traveling with or without kids, we have everything you will need for an amazing stay.
The Zuni house is cute and in a nice location, Lohi is a very cute part of Denver. Renters are told you will find eggs, milk, oj, and fruit upon arrival - which is not true. I called the owner/caretaker twice and got no response either time. I emailed 3 days prior to arrival with questions and never got an answer. The owner knew I had 8 ladies staying in the house, yet there were only 6 bath towels available. There was no top sheet included in the bedding needed to use the futon for sleeping, and we had to search for the bedding as it was not in the location noted in the house handbook. When we pulled the futon out to make the bed there was trash under the futon. Cleaning up and packing to leave, we found a pair of men's underwear under one bed - no men stayed with us on this trip. The sheets on the beds are threadbare, it's time to purchase new sheets, the blankets need to be washed, as they are dirty. The kitchen chairs are quite wobbly and ready to fall apart, and any future renter should buy insurance so you are covered when the chairs break.
My girlfriend gang had a great time together in spite of the house - because that's who we are. The house is cute and COULD be just as described with a little effort from the owner, but for this trip it was not. Very disappointed.
Christine has a lovely, comfortable home to use as a base for exploring Denver and the surrounding areas. Kitchen was well stocked and all the beds very comfortable. The quiet location in the Highlands was handy for walking to the various neighborhood cafes and bars. The Wooden Spoon fantastic along with Tony's Pizzaria and La Mexican Taqueria. We enjoyed visiting Pike's Peak, Manitou Springs, Breckenridge, and Idaho Springs. A must is Voodoo Donuts in downtown Denver.
Hope to come stay again!
First time VRBO (or any rental) user. In Denver for our daughter's wedding, four adults (grandparents and parents) with an 11th month old and a 4 year old. The house was equipped as stated with pack n play, high chair, etc. and even has a stand up steamer! They also had infant blocks (thank you!) and board games to keep children busy! Lovely backyard for boys to run around. Kitchen had all necessities including plastic cups for children! We never had any trouble parking the rented SUV in front of the house. We found it centrally located and very convenient. There is traffic on the street, but because of the backyard that was not a problem. 4 stars instead of 5 only because the 3rd bedroom did not have air conditioning. I do not know how hot it gets in Denver so that may be sufficient. We used the fans provided and we were fine. We were all very happy with the house and would definitely stay there again! Thank you Christine!
We had a really enjoyable experience at this house and will use this house again when we return to Denver. The house is clean, well maintained and has nice modern furniture. The kitchen is bright and well stocked with everything you need. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are modern. The washer/dryer were also new and worked great. We loved the location and the neighborhood. Dealing with the owners was pleasant. They always responded quickly to all communication.
Great place! Very good location. We will definitely be staying again. We did replace the batteries in one chirping smoke detector but it was our pleasure. We grilled and had friends over for a bbq and had plenty of space in the back yard. Thanks Christine!!
We absolutely loved the property and the location. It felt like it was within walking distance to all the amazing places. We did have a car and were able to go white water rafting and enjoy things on the outskirts of Denver, but we also loved walking everywhere. The house had ample space for seven girls and we loved the fact that it had two bathrooms and one was kind of set in the back from the rest of the bedrooms, it was nice for the extra needed privacy. We also really enjoyed the two bicycles that came with the house. There was only one small complaint and that was that the house got really hot and sometimes the window air-conditioning units had a hard time keeping up. But we thoroughly enjoyed the house and we would definitely stay there again.
Easy access to all sporting events in Denver!, Amazing dining experiences a short walk away! A few blocks to neighborhood recreation center with lap pool and weight room. Also, special rates available at LoHi Fitness Club - ask owner for details.
