Sea Views! Great location! 2 bed/2 bath beautiful balcony flat /private parking
We bought Temeraire in 2007 - falling in love with the lovely sea views and high ceilings / period features of the Georgian buildings. We then bought 2 parking spaces in the courtyard behind Temeraire realising as the area grows in popularity it will get harder to find a parking spot! Our faith is being rewarded with the opening of The Turner Centre and Dreamland both easy walking distance. New boutiques and eateries have opened and thrived - with The Ambrette winning the best restaurant in Kent. The owner photo shows are children then 12 and 10 playing with Temeraire Court visible above.
Esme purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why Esme chose Margate
This apartment is very pretty but also convenient to Visit Kent - Kent isn’t described as the garden of England for nothing. Within its sea-lined borders you’ll find a fragrant landscape of gentle hills, fertile farmland, cultivated country estates and fruit-laden orchards. It could also be described as the beer garden of England as it produces the world-renowned Kent hops and some of the country’s finest ales and wines from its numerous vineyards. At its heart is spellbinding Canterbury, crowned by its enthralling cathedral. You’ll also find beautiful coastal stretches dotted with beach towns and villages, from old-school Broadstairs to gentrified Whitstable and the original seaside resort of Margate. All 90 minutes by train from Central London,
What makes this Apartment unique
Rare in the area Sea Views and gated off road parking.
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
Good apartment to go back to after time on the beach. Car parking is a big bonus in busy margate
The apartment was perfect for our needs and should be good for a family of four.
Having dedicated parking is vital as Margate streets are full and parking charges high.
The steps up were less of a challenge after a few days but worth it for the view of the sea. In July we could view both sunrise and sunset.
Margate is an old town “on the up” with some interesting shops and restaurants. For beaches try Botany Bay and Minnie Bay. Ramsgate and Broadstairs worth visits (Ramsgate Tunnels are a surprise.
A very enjoyable stay.
Perfect getaway location!
Great property with a great seaside view. Location was good, easy to get everywhere by foot. The property had everything you needed and Esme was very helpful with everything.
Family get together
Was very happy overall the property and had all equipment required and more. Esme was very accommodating in relation to the fact didn't arrive until midnight. I would recommend this property for location to margate, the sea ire was great but would say if you have any mobility issue would not be great choice due to stairs but was ok for us.
The apartment was truly home away from home - it had every thing one needed. We found the apartment very clean and airy with fantastic sea view from the living area. It was great to have all the main attractions (the beach, restaurants and cafes) within walking distance.
We're glad you enjoyed your stay.
Excellent accommodation, we had a great time, would stay again.
We had a lovely stay from start to finish. All facilities were provided, very good showers , stylish decorations, furniture and kitchen . Large rooms. Excellent views of the sea and resort, especially from the balcony which was a real bonus.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Thanks for everything.
Thank you - we would love you to stay again too!
Spacious with great views
We spent the week end visiting family and found the location very convenient.
A Comfortable bed and we slept well. The apartment is well equipped with most
of what one would need for ones stay.
Our only gripe would be in regards to Departure procedures and the confusion in getting
out of the gates and key handover- the "Hoy Pub" which we collected our keys from
on arrival was closed on the Monday when we departed! So it would have been helpful to know that and perhaps some clearer instructions could be added to the information book
for future reference.
All in all a nice break, and so nice to wallow in my childhood memories of Margate.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, although sorry you had a problem returning the keys. We use the excellent Hoy Pub as it's generally open 11am - 11pm so handy for collecting /returning keys. It 's owned by one of our housekeepers so they will always help our guests.
The flat below ours hold keys and can accept return keys.
However we will now add a digital key box outside our flat door to post return keys. I will make sure this information is more prominent within the flat and in future included within our contact numbers / pre arrival information email Best wishes Esme
As the first seaside resort in the country, Margate has drawn visitors ever since the 1730s. Being only 26 miles from France the weather tends to be warmer than the UK national average! The 700 year old harbour has been upgraded with pretty shops and restaurants. The picturesque old town is getting well known for (it's arty) boutique / individual shops and eateries - including The Ambrette, winner of the best restaurant in Kent. A choice of beautiful sandy beaches and coves to suit all tastes - and loads to see and do. Our apartments are in Cliftonville, under a mile from the train station - ( so you can visit) London in 90 minutes. Or just watch the glorious sunsets over the sea from the comfort of your apartment. The famous painter JMW Turner said 'the skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all Europe”. Temeraire Court is named after one of his most famous paintings ' The Fighting Temeraire' The Turner Contemporary Gallery (with free entry) designed by the renowned architect David Chipperfield is a short walk from our apartment. Also visit the curious Shell Grotto, the wonderfully preserved Tudor House, and local museums. Then there's The Winter Gardens (where many famous groups perform) hosting various entertainment throughout the year. One not to miss, the newly re-opened (at a cost of over £18m ) historic Dreamland Amusement Park with its iconic Scenic Railway and traditional attractions. For the more active, the scenic Viking Coastal Trail is a 27 mile-long route or six shorter themed routes for cycling or walking. Bike hire is available locally. There are several golf courses in the area too. Watersports are very popular and jet skiing, surfing, boat trips and fishing are all readily available Visit Thanet Information Centre for up to date information on whats on during the year.
