One of my most enjoyable vacations. I'd. give it a 4.5 star rating.
This large apartment on the main floor of a two-story home is comfortable, nicely decorated and was very enjoyable for my wife and me as well as my daughter, her husband and their two very young children. The home had everything from a fully equipped kitchen to a quiet back yard with a grill.
We were a short walk to the center of the village and a few minutes away from two lovely beaches by bike or car. This was a relaxing vacation. We loved it. The owner was warm, very helpful and readily available. She even left a bottle of wine in the fridge for us at arrival! I loved our stay here!
Greenport is a gem and the home was wonderful, full of original art. The husband is an artist and has his studio on the property. What a special place!
You would think that we would be happy to see these guests leave with the two babies etc. but we were not!
The whole family was delightful and we so enjoyed having them here.
They were a pleasure.
We are so delighted that they enjoyed their stay and hopefully they will return.
Beautiful Place, Great Hosts
We arrived for the weekend to go to a wedding at Brecknock. The first pleasant surprise was the large kitchen with tons of space so I could ice the 280 cupcakes I had brought with me for the wedding. Also, the entire house was spotlessly clean. Joyce provided a lovely welcome, and we felt right at home. We had 4 people total and it was so much more pleasant than any hotel could be. We had the two bedrooms, living room, big kitchen, and didn't even use the sitting room with Murphy bed, which could have accommodated one or two more people. From the pictures, we knew it was beautiful, but the paintings and the furniture and rugs all combined to make this an artistic and comfortable get-away spot that was completely rejuvenating. Loved, loved, loved this place. A very quick walk to town and all the coffee, breakfast and restaurant spots you could wish for. Fun biking, and great beaches. Wish I could be there now! Thanks for a great visit, Joyce and Hector!
The cupcakes were a dead giveaway! Thank you both for this great review and for those delicious cupcakes. They were the best we have ever tasted. Have you ever thought of living here and opening up a pastry shop???
Enjoyed having you and by all means, come again.
Joyce and Hector
Beautiful home, comfortable to spend time in, and close enough to everything in town to make the whole weekend very walkable. The hosts were quite helpful and accommodating. The house sleeps six if you pull down the Murphy bed in the sitting room (it was actually very comfortable). Big kitchen. Nice porch and yard. Highly recommend this place!
Clean, comfortable, great location
We were two couples and a toddler visiting from NYC. Joyce and Hector were very friendly and very helpful. We had plenty of room for the 5 of us and the kitchen is a nice size and is well-appointed. The Murphy bed in the living room was comfortable.
The location could not be better for exploring Greenport and the neighboring wineries. We really enjoyed visiting Sparkling Pointe winery and One Woman winery for the wine, and Kontokosta for the spectacular setting.
The food in Greenport was above average, if a little overpriced. We loved 1943 Pizza (one of Joyce's recommendations) and thought 1st and South and Salamander's were just okay with some interesting service issues.
A wonderful find in Greenport
My husband and I rented for a week with our baby and it was an amazing experience. Had room to invite family to stay too! Lovely home, great location and Joyce and Hector were so helpful and pretty much stayed out of the way (made us feel like we had a private home rather than an apartment). We plan on returning! Thanks Joyce and Hector for making our first family vacation with our daughter a terrific time!
Dear Adrienne and Family
Thank you so much for that great review!
We are delighted that you felt at home rather than feeling you were in an apartment. The house does lend itself to that feeling. I think one of the reasons is because you have a private entrance and also another entrance right to your back deck and the yard.
Hector and I look forward to your return. Stay well and our warm regards to all
Fantastic Stay in Greenport
My husband and I spent a week at this home and absolutely loved it. First off, Joyce and Hector could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Their home is beautiful and had everything you could want in a vacation spot. As for the location, it was perfect. It is only a short drive to the beaches and wineries and you can walk to all of the hot spots in Greenport. The best part was that the walk to the downtown area is about 3 to 5 minutes, yet the home is so quiet, you would never know how close you are to the downtown and the harbor. Speaking of the harbor, there is nothing like spending your morning runs along it. Just beautiful.
I highly recommend this location for you next stay in NoFo. The home is plenty big for 2 couples, as it has two bedrooms and 2 full baths. I would also follow all of Joyce's recommendations. She sent us to the newest NoFo winery, Kontokosta, where we enjoyed sipping wine while overlooking Long Island Sound--an absolutely breathtaking view. And you have to stop by Noah's in Greenport for dinner and dessert, not to mention their several local wines by the glass.
Thank you Chris and Paul for that great review. You were both such a pleasure to have here and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay.
I know it felt like home to you both and that is exactly what we want our guests to feel.
be well and please come again...for your sixth anniversary!
