BEAUTIFUL BALCONY APARTMENT in Temeraire Court. A Georgian Grade 2 Listed former hotel which has been totally refurbished to reflect the beauty and detail of the period. Our apartment is a first floor 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom balcony apartment with FANTASTIC SEA VIEWS. Overlooking the Winter Gardens, and very near to a beach, with the town centre a short walk. PRIVATE OFF ROAD PARKING in the courtyard behind Temeraire with rear access to the building.

A grand entrance hall and elegant spiral staircase lead to our stylish 1st floor balcony apartment with panoramic sea views over the Winter Gardens.The apartment has been fully refurbished and features a light, airy, open-plan Kitchen/Living/Dining room with 2 leather recliner chairs and matching double sofa bed settee, Freeview LCD TV and DVD, with surround sound system,fully equipped kitchen and a dining table that seats 4-6 people. Large Georgan French windows open out onto a balcony from where you can watch the sunset into the sea.The main bedroom has a double bed and en suite shower room/WC, whilst the 2nd bedroom has twin single beds. There is a family bathroom with full size bath, and WC.

Margate is part of the 26 miles of Thanet coastline, with a choice of golden sandy beaches, live entertainment great places to eat and visit! NB Dreamland (the £18,000,000 Retro amusement park) opened on the 19th June 2015! The Turner Centre art gallery and the Winter Gardens are very close to the apartment. London is approximately 70 miles away and easily accessible by train,(direct from Victoria approx 90 minutes) car or coach (90 minutes from Victoria Coach station). Margate Station is under a mile from the apartment, and there are bus stops immediately outside. Temeraire Court is ideal for a romantic break, or a family holiday - and everyone in between! gorgeous property, stunning view, perfect

The property was everything we had hoped for. It was bright, airy and very well kept. There was everything you needed for a home from home holiday. The views across the Winter Gardens and the sea were wonderful. The beds were very comfortable, the family loved the reclining chairs and the sofa bed was a must in the evening. The balcony provided breathtaking views of the sunset.

The owner had provided a comprehensive folder with all the local information you would need and this was much used.

The apartment is a five minute walk from the Turner Gallery and only 10 minutes into the town or indeed to the wonderful beaches. There was a bus stop just opposite and public transport ran frequently and was very reasonable.

We have already decided to stay again next year and couldn't recommend the apartment or Margate enough.

Spacious apartment with stunning sea views

We really enjoyed our week at Temeraire Court - the apartment was well appointed and excellent value for money. Pity about the weather, but what a comfortable place to come back to on a wet afternoon! The view from the balcony was amazing rain or shine, and Margate's best eating places were a stone's throw away. We'd love to come back again!

very nice place to have a beautiful holiday

We stayed at the apartment for a week and we were very excited to have such spacious and comfortable rooms. Everything was very clean so we weren´t afraid it was like home. Furthermore we did have a private car park and when possible a car park in front of the apartment. A Aldi store is nearby with excellent domestic english food, so everything is like we use to. In addition I have heardt and seen many pups and restaurant within comfortable distance of the apartment. The train station was a bit to far for walking with small children, so I preffered to use my car and I payed in front of the station a whole day ticket . The train is a very cheap option to get to London to avoid congestion when you travel to such a huge and important city. As a final review I would recommend this appartment to families with small children aged between 5- 10 years as a unique chance to have a great holiday.

Margate hideaway October half term 2010

The flat was exactly as described clean and well maintained. Directions to get there useful. The flat is within easy walking distance of the centre of Margate and shops for anyone. The tea, coffee, biscuits and milk on arrival very welcome. Owners very nice people who are easy to access via email or phone if any queries or problems. Loads of places to eat nearby. Would recommend Toby carvery (cheap but excellent food) between Margate and Broadstairs just past shopping complex.(Westfield) Dover castle a must see attraction. Beaches wonderful but time of tides would be useful to know.

A nice and clean accomodation With a beautiful view on the sea. Because of the railwaystation in Margate it is easy to visit London, Canterbury, Leeds Castle and other interesting places in the neighbourhood.

Charming, Spotless and Toughtfully Equipped

The two of us stayed here at the end of October ’09 for 4 nights.

First of all was very quick and easy. The owner also provided detailed information, which was very helpful. The first impression when you walk through the door is the ‘quality’ feel. The furnishing, fixtures and all of the equipment provided were not only extensive but all fitted into what I would describe as contemporary Georgian. The second noticeable aspect was how spotlessly clean everywhere was. And then, for me, the view was stunning. Overlooking large lawns onto a wide promenade and then the sea. The apartment is on the edge of town, so a short stroll, but away from the noise of it.

Since the package tourist industry emigrated to Spain a large part of Margate has been neglected. The exception is the old town. Located behind the harbour it is an attractive maze of streets which peppered with galleries, ‘bohemian eateries, a few traditional pubs and various other, some unusual, retail outlets. It seems to be epicentre of Margate’s regeneration as a traditional seaside town which will be given a bigger boost with the opening of the impressive Turner building. The abundance of Blue Flag beaches will no doubt help. A short hop in the car takes you to Broadstairs and Ramsgate, both of which have absolutely charming harbour sides. And a big must is a visit to Canterbury Cathedral.

All in all we had a pleasant few days. I do recommend the apartment we stayed in. Peaceful, comfortable, pristinely clean and well equipped.

As the first seaside resort in the country, Margate has drawn visitors ever since the 1730s. Being only 26 miles from France the weather tends to be warmer than the UK national average! The 700 year old harbour has been upgraded with pretty shops and restaurants. The picturesque old town is getting well known for (it's arty) boutique / individual shops and eateries - including The Ambrette, winner of the best restaurant in Kent. A choice of beautiful sandy beaches and coves to suit all tastes - and loads to see and do. Our apartment is in Cliftonville, under a mile from the train station - ( so you can visit) linking to London in 90 minutes. Or just watch the glorious sunsets from the comfort of your recliner armchair. The famous painter JMW Turner said 'the skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all Europe”. Temeraire Court is named after one of his most famous paintings ' The Fighting Temeraire' The Turner Contemporary Gallery (with free entry) designed by the renowned architect David Chipperfield is a short walk from our apartment. Also visit the curious Shell Grotto, the wonderfully preserved Tudor House, and local museums. Then there's The Winter Gardens (where many famous groups perform) hosting various entertainment throughout the year. One not to miss, the newly re-opened (at a cost of over £18m ) historic Dreamland Amusement Park with its iconic Scenic Railway and traditional attractions. For the more active, the scenic Viking Coastal Trail is a 27 mile-long route or six shorter themed routes for cycling or walking. Bike hire is available locally.There are several golf courses in the area too. Watersports are very popular and jet skiing, surfing, boat trips and fishing are all readily available Visit Thanet Information Centre for up to date information on whats on during the year. Temeraire Court is ideal for a romantic break, or family holiday - in fact everyone!
