A very short walk to Long Sands Beach....about 500 feet! As you walk on to the beach you will be near the center of Long Sands beach, just south of the Sun & Surf Restaurant. Great for families due to the amount of beach space, even at high tide, and the best crabbing and tide pooling in town at low tide! Perfect spot for walking or running along the beach as well. And a quick walk to some of the local restaurants or take the trolley to the Nubble Lighthouse or Short Sands Beach from the end of the street. Floats are available to rent, and the Long Sands Surfing area is only a 10 minute walk away. Life guards on duty all summer.
Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the 30'x12' rear deck while enjoying the sounds & views of the ocean. Neighborhood is predominantly owner occupied. Extremely safe neighborhood. Dead end road with 10 houses.

Hi we live in town in the harbor, and I summered here as a kid. I always loved being near the ocean and decided to live here year round after graduating college and starting a family. We've been here year round for over 20 years, and I've been coming here in the summers for over 40 years. Not quite a townie, but not far off either...

We rented this house for our extended family when our daughter got married close to York. It is a very nice property that was a perfect place for our family. The kitchen is very nice and well equipped and spacious enough to feed a small crowd of people. We grilled burgers one evening on the large deck while the kids played bocce ball on the lawn. The house had literally everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and stress free. And the best thing about this property was how gracious and responsive the homeowner was every step of the process. He replied to every message almost immediately and was so kind and helpful. We fell in love with Maine and would love to have the opportunity to return when we have time to leisurely explore the quaint towns and beautiful countryside. And we wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again because it was such a wonderful experience for our family.
We have stayed at this property for the past 3 years. It is a great location. You can walk to Long Sands and also walk to the trolley that takes you to Short Sands Beach. The house is always very clean and in great condition. The outdoor shower is the best feature of the house if you are traveling wtih children. They also enjoy the firepit in the yard. The owners are on top of things and get back to you quickly with any questions or concerns. I would absolutely recommend this property to friends and family.
The open, modern, fully-furnished, great-room kitchen includes wood floors, a huge island, granite countertops throughout, stainless appliances, a trash compactor, and a solid wood farm table to seat at least eight. The family room boasts wood flooring, two teal leather sofas, coffee and end tables, and a large flat screen TV, and all rooms are decorated with Maine inspired quote boxes and pictures. There’s an enormously spacious walk-in pantry and a walk-in closet that holds all the essentials: ironing board, high chair, cleaning utensils. The upstairs bedrooms? Wonderful! All are carpeted and beautifully decorated. The master bedroom is the size of a ballroom with a king-size bed, full bath and walk-in closet, and a baby crib. The second bedroom comes complete with a queen sized bed, 2 side tables, and a large closet. The third bedroom has two bunk beds, with the lower beds double sized, a large closet, and a night table. There’s a full bathroom upstairs to be shared, and a large single bathroom on the main level. All rooms come stocked with towels and bedding, all cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, and paper products. Speaking of laundry supplies, there’s a heavy-duty washer and dryer combo off of the garage as you enter into the house. There’s absolutely no comfort left out of this home!
The home owner is wonderful to plan with. His rental process is streamlined and clearly organized and described in digital documents, and these are also printed out and stored in a binder at the house for his guests to refer to. There are oodles of places to visit in and around York Beach, and many of these are noted in a binder in details and in brochures. From the local town, to a trip to the harbor in York, to a trip down to the outlets in Kittery, to the quaint shops in Ogonquit and a walk on the Marginal Way, there’s something for everyone. A whale watch or fishing trip out of Perkins Cove in Ogonquit is a trip to remember! And don’t forget to head to Brown’s Ice Cream near Nubble Lighthouse for the best in town!

Part 1: Meeting Ed and the House
Home Away from Home
York Beach, Maine is our family’s traditional vacation destination. My husband and I took a trip up the east coast when we were first married, and quickly realized that this was the place for us to be. Initially, we stayed at The Anchorage Inn resort on Long Sands Beach then, as our family grew, we graduated to renting a house near to Short Sands Beach for many years. With the addition of children, we made the move from packing up the car to head to Long Sands Beach each day, and instead rented a lovely place a walk’s away from the beach.
Spring of 2012 brought us to “our new home,” the one we’ve decided will be our “forever” summer vacation home. It was the weekend our youngest son was graduating from the University of New Hampshire and we had made reservations to stay at The Anchorage Inn resort. Our oldest son was searching summer real estate in York Beach and came across a brand new listing for a home on Eastern Avenue, so off we went to see where this gorgeous, in-construction, not-quite-ready home was located. A short block’s walk from Long Sands Beach and a turn off into a gently curving road, there was THE HOUSE set on a semi-secluded private lot: classic Maine styled; light cedar siding with shingled roof; three stories including the lowest level complete with a double-bay, oversized garage; windows wrapping all around the main level; outside stairs leading up to a deck; a side yard with a fire pit under an established tree. SO INVITING!
So, we parked in the driveway, got out, walked around, and… imagine our “OH NO!” as we heard the sound of a car pulling into the stone driveway. There we were on the upper deck, scrambling to head down the stairs. Ed – as we grew to know him – was there in the driveway, greeting us with a smile and a handshake as we babbled out our apologies at being on his property. What a guy! Ed welcomed us to take our shoes off and take a tour of the house while he unpacked the Adirondack lawn chairs that would decorate the yard and upper deck.
We knew we had found the home that was to be our home-away-from-home, and it’s where we’re going to be living this coming summer 2015 for the third consecutive year.

This is a beautiful vacation home that is spacious, immaculate and fully equipped with all the comforts of home. It is located on a quiet street surrounded by trees with the sounds of chirping birds and bright sunshine greeting us in the large kitchen complete with all the amenities one could need. It is a short walk to beautiful Long Sands Beach where surf and sun is abundant. We so enjoyed the deck with upgraded grill and our 5 children absolutely enjoyed the fire pit for their smores in the evenings. This property far exceeded our expectations and we all truly enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful time in this wonderful home. Ed was friendly and thoughtful with every interaction we had with him. It is clear much pride and care is given by Ed and Cindy to ensure a fabulous vacation to all who have the pleasure of staying at their beautiful beach vacation home. We can't wait to return next summer!! Thank you Ed and Cindy!!
Two years ago my wife and I were searching for a beach vacation home to rent with our two grandsons (ages 2 and 4) and their parents. In our search we discovered, while still under construction, Cindy and Ed's fabulous home on a secluded lot about a 5 minute walk to Long Sands Beach ( perfect for children- beach combing and tidal pools). This will be our third year vacationing in this spacious home with a massive master bedroom, three bathrooms, huge deck, fire pit and laundry facilities. The outdoor shower is a treat for all ages and the ducklings that inhabit the thicket adjacent to the side lawn are entertainment for our grandchildren. Finally, Cindy and Ed really take pride in providing a family friendly comfortable home where lasting memories of our week at the beach are being formed.
