Beautiful Lake Shore Cabins -
About Deborah Peteler
This resort is family owned. We have been coming to this area for summer family vacations. This property came to our attention and we just feel in love with it. We feel our guests will have a wonderful time.
Deborah Peteler purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Deborah Peteler chose Emily
We chose this property as it is the only resort, secluded with all of its cabins lake front. High enough, but close enough to the lake shore. Private, clean, lots of nature and secluded.
What makes this Cabin unique
Not only do the cabins face the lake, so all of the cabins have a beautiful view of the lake, but the back sides of the cabins, face the forest. We feel we get the best of the woods and the lake.

Lovely quiet getaway
The location is beautiful & the cabin was right on the lake. The cabin was small but sufficient for my family of 4, just be aware that’s it’s like a studio apartment but with less privacy because the walls separating the bedroom/bathroom from the rest of the space don’t reach the ceiling.
-1 star because there’s no microwave, that would have been helpful for reheating leftovers/making popcorn because there aren’t any restaurants/stores nearby. Otherwise it was great!
Great Lake and Cabins, Hostile owner
I can't say enough about this lake. On the first morning I awoke to a smooth as glass lake which perfectly reflected the early Fall colors from the trees on the opposite side. Just as I was taking a picture of this, a bald eagle flew directly over my head! Shortly thereafter I saw a pair of Trumpeter Swans in the distance and later a pair of loons near the shore. The following day I caught a nice 12 inch bass right off the pier on the first cast.
The cabins were also very nice, clean and cheerful. However, they lacked any type of window coverings other than for the bedroom and the other cabins are rather close, making privacy a problem.
We were not able to get into the cabin on arrival as the previous tenant had locked the key inside. I called the agent who said someone would be over in 10 minutes. An hour later a young man arrived saying he had "run out of gas", but offered no apologies.
Upon trying to make a pot of coffee the next morning, about half of the contents of the pot ended up all over the counter. When I took the carafe over to the agent, who had arrived, her male partner took it inside to test if it really leaked and then came out and said "no one has ever complained about that before".
Upon arriving back at the site from a day trip we stopped at a nearby house which had a sign in the driveway advertising eggs for sale. As I had recently sold a farmette at which I had raised chickens and sold eggs myself, I was interested in trying the eggs and also taking a look at the chickens. The coop was about 20 feet from the roadway and clearly visible. However, when we pulled over at the entrance to the driveway, we were greeted by three larger barking dogs who surrounded us. At that point, two younger children came out and I inquired about the eggs and also asked if I could come into the yard to look at the chickens. They said yes and walked the few feet to the coop with them and had what I thought was a nice talk about the chicken breeds.
About an hour later the same young man who had brought the keys came over to our cabin, parked his car behind mine blocking it in, and accused me of trying to break into "his house". He also accused me of parking at some other house in the area and looking in even though we had been away all day. He then said that his family owned the cottages.
This whole thing was very disconcerting and spoiled what would otherwise have been a delightful stay.
First I am happy you and your girlfriend loved the resort, the cabins and the wild life. It is what we love and so want to share with anyone who wants to come to our resort to enjoy its beauty.
I am sorry you had issues with our neighbors a 1/4 mile away, they are amazing neighbors who help maintain our resort and are my backup. Their children are priceless and wonderful. But you unfortunately scared them by wanting to enter their home and walk around their property. This was unfortunate. I realize you were upset when the neighbors asked you to stay way from their home, but please note, this does not reflect your stay at our resort. This happened way down the road.
As for your coffee pot. It was exchanged as soon as you brought it to our attention. Never once did we question who broke it. We felt terrible you had this experience, but we immediately exchanged the carafe. Lol, this was a lesson to have extra coffee pots on hand, it had never happened before, where a coffee pot breaks, so I did not have extra coffee pots on hand, But as of today, I purchased two more coffee pots. On the ready.
As for the curtains. Its a fine line as most tenants want full view of the lake and all of its beauty. Being a private lake, people are comfortable having no curtains facing the lake or hanging out on the deck, as your girlfriend showed on the deck. You had curtains on the bedroom and bathroom side and there were no tenants on your right side of your cabin. If you noticed, in cabin one, we were placing new wood blinds and after you left, we put in all new wood blinds in the cabin you were staying in as well, not because they were needed, but because I like the look and in the winter they will help keep the cabin warm.
Again, so happy you enjoyed the lake, canoeing, fishing, wildlife and the beginning of the fall colors off the lake. Its breathtaking!
Sorry you felt uncomfortable about your being told to stay away from the neighbor's home and to leave them alone.
Wish you well.
Beautiful, quiet lake and sweet cabins
Loved this place! Lovely serene lake. We used the rowboat and canoe daily. Deborah and David we very gracious and sweet hosts. Lovely people. The Cabins are closer together more than we thought they'd be, but there is plenty of space for everyone to hang out in and out neighbors were great! We will definitely come back!
Tranquility and Hospitality at it's finest
The Peteler's are gracious hosts who provided me with a much needed getaway with my dog. The cabin was exactly what I was looking for and the added amenities (fire pit, row boat/floaties) were unexpected but so much fun. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you so much for the fun weekend!
I just had a chance to review our reviews. Thank you. We loved having you and Dash at the cabins.
Happy you loved it and we hope to see you again. Another wonderful Bonfire, perhaps!
Exactly what we needed
The cabin was super cozy and exactly what we needed for our stay. Deborah was incredibly responsive with any questions we had. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Thank you, I am happy you enjoyed your stay with us.
Our weekend was amazing. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Our cabin was nice, cozy and very comfortable with a view of the lake. Nice place to relax, unwind and we even went swimming!
