We love to welcome you to our second home. This is also our family getaway and we have made everything possible for it to be as comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable as it's for us.
Sorry, no pets allowed and smoking is not allowed inside the apartment.
Great location with easy beach access. Many amenities including beach supplies. Wii and media dock were not in working condition but everything else was good to go.
My family (2 adults and two boys (14&10) stayed in this wonderful apartment and I couldn't have been happier.
We arrived in Rincon at 7:00pm and were met immediately with the keys. After a quick walk through we were delighted to find that there were literally miles of uncrowded beach within 200 steps from our back door.
The apartment is located in a perfect spot. It is off the main road by a couple of blocks but everything we did was no more than a 15 minute drive away. There is a great bakery (EC Bakery) very close, a small market for quick stops (beer) and an Econo supermarket less than a 5 minute drive away (be careful of local drivers).
For our family the apartment was the perfect set up. The extra bathroom was a blessing, the bunk beds were perfect for the boys and there are even two futons in the front room if you need extra space. The laundry facilities were a great convenience as well. The apartment was very clean, well stocked with the essentials and stayed surprisingly cool. I will echo a previous review in that it would be nice to have an extra set of keys (especially for the beach gate) but it would be a convenience, certainly not a necessity.
My favorite thing about the apartment was the flexibility it gave us that allowed us to just relax. If the boys wanted to snorkel or swim they could. If they got tired of the salt and sand they could swim. It was perfect.
Speaking of swimming and snorkeling... We were there in June so the ocean was pretty tame. The beaches that surround the apartment are very soft sand beaches that gently slope away and don't get deep for quite awhile. While the water was a bit "murky" it was just fine for snorkeling beginners and kids. There is a rock/coral shelf about 30 yards off the beach and we saw lots of fish, some really big tarpon and there was a school of sardines there the whole time (literally thousands of fish that we swam right through). Lots of shells and sea glass to find too. One thing to be careful of is the bees. They aren't everywhere but they are vicious so beware.
We really enjoyed dinner at the Rincon Brew Company and the Shipwreck Bar and Grill. Los Pescadores is a must. Avoid the Harbor Restaurant, great view... below average food. The EC Bakery was wonderful.
Steps Beach. We saw a couple of turtles. Be aware that the bottom is covered with sea urchins so watch where you get in.
Rincon Surf School was great. Ask around about the local waterfalls.
We had a rough start getting to Ricon(a blizzard hit NY) but once we were there we forgot that we had been shoveling close to 3' of snow 12 hours prior to reaching paradise. The condo was very nice and in a great location, we loved trying all the different food trucks for lunch and restaurants for dinner. Our daughters loved the fact that the pool was just steps away as well as the beach....being in the condo was like being at home and with two young children this is important! Definitely would stay again and hopefully we will return soon.
Nice location, beautiful sunsets, pool. Could use two sets of keys. Chickens were loud, starting very early in the morning, otherwise enjoyed location.
Very clean modern upgrades and equipped apartment for a fun week in Rincon. You won't regret choosing this rental.
Family vacation with my two “twenty young” kids. Comfortable accommodations, beautiful, fully equipped eat in kitchen. Awesome nicely AC cooled rooms. Great shower pressure. Cable TV, wifi (in case you also have to check email), beach chairs, and beach toys!
Early AM, took a short trip to the local bakery, purchased watering freshly baked bread (pan de agua), brewed a cup of local coffee, then sat on the gazebo...just watch the water & sky and listen to the waves, birds and ocean...
Great swimming beach...right there! Go in the water, float on one of the noodles, and just feel the warm water sooth your body and refresh your spirit.
Took 1 hour walks every day along the sandy shore.
At 5 PM drive to the pescaderia... the local catch? we ran into the most delicious black fin tuna (son and daughter did the cooking) and lobster --Wow!!! Of course, we also enjoyed local cuisine at a few of the many dinning choices also within minutes.
Location is convenient to several grocery stores and bakeries. 5 minutes to center of town which is quite endearing. Lots of other beaches within minutes each with particular fun activities... Went scuba and snorkeling (Taino Divers) -- saw 3 turtles, squid, manta ray, lobster, lots of colorful coral and marine life... Rented paddle board, son tried his luck at one of several Rincon's famous surfing beaches. Required lots of sun tan lotion.
6PM...What a wonderful sunset!!! Same gazebo where in the AM had coffee... now sipping a glass of Merlot, was treated to spectacular scenery.
We also participated in a couple of inland adventures. Visited Gozalandia (about 1 hr drive) (you tube it) in San Sebastian ( a wonderful natural setting with waterfalls and swimming pool, lots of launching pads for dives into the “not so warm” mountain water. Well worth it! Also went ziplining at Toro Verde (you tube it Toro Verde – La Bestia) (1.5 hr drive) a) georgeous setting, b) thrilling, c) well run, d) so much fun! .
Great place, great vacation. Cannot wait to do it again.
