Paul's Lodge is a timberframe spa nestled in the woods on beautiful Skaneateles Lake.
I've had so much fun with Paul's Cabin (#12041) , that I purchased the property next door and performed an entire construction makeover of the property. This property is a work of art. Guests who enjoy music, art, nature, spa relaxation and meticulous furnishings will be attracted to Paul's Lodge.
Highlights of Paul's Lodge
Spectacular timberframe home with grand forest and lake views. Two story great room with player system grand piano, fireplace, kitchen with granite and stainless. Outdoor living room with massive fireplace, flat screen TV, dining area and lake viewing areas. Wine cellar spa with hot tub, sauna, outdoor shower and massage table. Massage therapist eagerly available. Master king suite with sitting room, with luxury hotel linens, robes and essentials included.
Paul's Lodge is meticulously serviced. We challenge you to find a fingerprint smudge, dust bunny or any disrepair. We take great pride in our beautiful properties.
Paul's Lodge is friendly for handicapped or elderly guests considering it is built into the side of a mountain forest.
Paul's Lodge was carefully designed to serve the purposes of two seemingly different types of vacationers. With beds for 11 and a large indoor/outdoor living space on the main floor, the lodge is suited for large or multi family vacations, corporate groups, 'all girls or guys weekends' etc. On the other hand, the design is cleverly laid out to accommodate the small, intimate group that wants a peaceful, cozy respite on the lake. The Lodge is ideal for the romantic couple wanting to enjoy the fall leaves as well as the family vacationers. I believe we've pulled it off.
Come to Paul's Lodge. Relax. Listen to over 100 hours of music on our player grand piano as you taste on of our eight Dr. Frank's award-winning wines. Schedule a massage night as your guests rotate about the spa equipment: hot tub, dry sauna, outdoor shower and massage therapy. Enjoy nature on our decks and patios as you enjoy the sounds and smells of the forest and beautiful Skaneateles Lake. Live, relax and reconnect in the lap of luxury.
We had a great week in Skaneateles -- we started it off by getting married!!! Loved staying at the Lodge and cabin was a great way to wind down after a long summer of wedding planning. It was great to have our two newly-joined families here together and watching all of the kids (and adults) explore and play. It was wonderful.
Skaneateles and Paul's Cabin/Lodge will surely always hold a special place in our hearts and we hope to be back to celebrate a few anniversaries here. Thank you!!
The Newlyweds -- Eric and Sarah Nalbach
PS Mike (our caretaker) is amazing and really helped us out. Thank you!!
We've been vacationing in the summer on Skaneateles lake for years and have stayed in many different homes. Paul's Lodge is our favorite. We liked it so much that we signed a three year contract! Can't wait to go back
While I want to be clear that the place is lovely, I do want to say that it is not QUITE as lovely as it looks in the pictures or states in the descriptions. I think much of what you see and read is from when it was first opened for rental, and the rentals have worn the place a bit. (Full disclosure: I couldn't put my proper date of stay in - it was October 2014.)
I can understand Paul being very proud of the place, it is lovely. But it is not pristine, and the admonitions to keep it pristine were slightly parental and overbearing.
The good: Great hot tub, lovely kitchen, terrific outdoor fireplace, great views, great area, a very responsive caretaker
The okay - grand piano (but you can't turn it down... it's kind of "all or nothing")
-furnishings (the only place to really gather a group is outside. They make sure to tell you over and over not to move any furniture, so there really is no way to sit around together inside)
Large TV (but it's outside... ) -Outdoor furniture (the cushions were left out in the rain, so were unusable during our stay)
- quite a few issues that we had to call the caretaker about, but nothing unfixable or unsolvable.
The not so good: very musty smell in lower level, even with the humidifier. Spotty wifi and telephone, and most of all, the VERY precipitous drive down to the lodging. 4 wheel drive is absolutely essential! I had it, so no problem, but if it rains and the leaves are all over the dirt road, even 4 wheel drive is iffy.
Overall, a good place.
Paul, all I can say is that you have created the absolute perfect get away, for one of the best views I have ever witnessed! Our stay was fantastic and the amenities were the icing on the cake. Who wouldn't love the outdoor shower and hot tube with that view! The player piano right off the living room, surrounded by windows with its own wine bar, was brilliantly built and executed. The sauna was also a fun experience that I had never had before. Now I saved the best for last, and that was the deck with the covered fireplace and TV!
We also rented the pontoon boat while at The Lodge and boating around Skaneateles is so entertaining! Boating to town or just around the lake while swimming makes a pleasant and soothing day. The Lodge is truly a luxury vacation destination and makes the perfect getaway location.
Well Paul you have outdone yourself with the lodge! It has everything you could possibly imagine or wish for, our stay was fantastic! We loved every minute of it. There was always something to do. The spa was so relaxing, and the outdoor shower was a true experience looking onto the lake. We enjoyed the player piano and the wine bar was amazing. The large covered outdoor patio table provided a haven for family meals and great conversation. The fireplace and tv outdoors was perfect. The bedrooms were very comfortable and roomy, especially the master suite. We loved the boat and jumped into the crystal clear lake what an experience. We call staying at the Lodge" Glamping" we feel like we are camping in the woods in the most Glamorous breath taking setting you could ever wish for. Thank you for creating such a luxurious bit of heaven in the woods.
This lodge is nothing shy of amazing! We have rented NUMEROUS luxury facilities in Canada and the US and this is by far one of the nicest places we have ever stayed.
The pictures barely do this lodge justice. From the gourmet kitchen to the exquisite entryway to the piano room, wine cellar/basement, spa, sauna, etc... it just oozes luxury and relaxation. What truly makes this place special is the outdoor living space. The decks are wonderful, but the covered living room and dining room are just amazing! It feels like you're in a high-end tree fort!
The lake itself is literally crystal-clear. I didn't believe it until I experienced it, but from the top-floor master suite you can quite literally see the bottom of the lake, and fish swimming by! It's like being in the Caribbean!
If you have the opportunity, rent Paul's Pontoon as well and take advantage of the lake. There are some great places to see, and the Glen Haven Inn is an amazing boat-in place to eat (the food is fabulous!).
They are not exaggerating with any of the descriptions - everything about this place is fantastic!
