Just what we needed
Nice people Sloop and Char, great little place, quite easy access to get to private beach.
Enchanting, whimsical cottage in paradise
My husband and I loved our relaxing time, surrounded by such beauty--birds, flowers, hermit crabs, reserved kitties, and sweet Callie dog. View across Bay is exquisite at every time of day. Rainbow Cottage is filled with colorful art, both distinct pieces and painted on the cottage itself. Lace curtains dance in the island breezes. Short walk to the very private beach, where we could swim and snorkel. Felt like part of the intimate East End community. One does need a car to take advantage of the vast array of beaches, hikes, local culture, restaurants on the island. Hosts Sloop and Char were nearby whenever we needed any thing or information and were very welcoming, as well as respectful of privacy.
Definitely look forward to returning.
Very nice people. Incredible view. Very comfortable space.
Very nice, clean, casual cottage. You are immersed with artwork everywhere. The flora and fauna that surrounds the cottage is so beautiful. Very nice setting and a short walk to a beach that you'll find a handful of beach glass on your morning walk. Beach is never crowded. Most days, had it all to ourselves. Breezes are constantly flowing and making the cottage very comfortable throughout the day. Char and Sloop were very helpful. We miss it already!!! Loved walking the beach and the street with their dog, Cali the Louisana Catahoula Leopard Dog.
Wonderful snorkeling, beautiful bungalow, wonderful hosts.
Needed nothing, super comfy and so relaxing.
Zen on the East End... everything that you need and nothing that you don’t need
Perfectly zen, perfectly St. John place on St. John. Fortunate to spend time and share space at Sloop Jones. Great place for those seeking peace, attuned to beauty, and what’s important. Unplug on the east end.
St. John’s East End is a place that appeals to independent spirits, nature-lovers, and people who really love to have some space.
The least-populated area of St. John, there aren’t even any roosters this far out. But there are plenty of donkeys. And goats. In fact, if we forget to shut the gate, they end up at our front door.
The East End offers uncluttered exploration.... roads to ramble, private beaches to scramble and all sorts of sky to appreciate. You get the daily rise and set of the sun and moon. And a starscape that really does take your breath away.
A three minute walk and you’re at a secluded, private beach.
A 15-minute drive and you’re in wonderfully wacky Coral Bay.
Want to go to the North Shore? Give yourself a good 30 minutes.
You’ll need 45 to get to Cruz Bay.
But the beauty of driving on St. John… it’s all eye candy.
