Very nice loft
We went for an anniversary and had a wonderful time. We stayed for a week and were easily able to commute around Ireland by train.
The owner Valerie and her family were very kind and went out of their way to assist with questions and information. Skerries is beautiful with a store and train station within walking distance. The loft had everything needed to cook and relax after tours.
Serene and restful
Valerie and David are the nicest sort of people. They were very helpful with taking the train into Dublin, getting groceries, and showing us around. The apartment has the most stunning view of the Irish Sea.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, hope we meet again sometime.
Exactly as promised
Apartment was well appointed, everything worked, plenty of light and a great view. Valerie (and Jasper) were on hand to greet us and answer questions, and the jams and scones were a nice touch. Sunset Crag was within walking distance to everything (loved the Stoop your Head pub). Great views over the harbour and North beach.
Easy site for side trips to Drogheda, Newgrange, Malahide. Take the train into Connelly Station in Dublin, much easier than driving, and take the hop on/hop off bus if you’re new to the city.
Loved Skerries and met several very friendly locals.
Thank you so much for your lovely review I really appreciate it, so glad you enjoyed my apartment.
Excellent accommodation highly recommended
We spent a week at Sunset Crag in late May. We loved the location at the shores of the sea. Everything was spotless and everything was available for managing ones own cooking etc. Valerie was very helpful whenever we had questions and arranged for a taxi back to the airport with Eamon (very chatty and interesting cab driver).
Rail travel from Skerries to Dublin and other locales was easy (trains roughly every 45 min). The station is about 20 min walking from Sunset Crag and grocery stores are about a 15 min walk.
Be sure to visit Howth for beautiful cliff walks starting very near the rail station, and plenty of restaurants at the start or end of the hike in Howth. A very modern museum in Dublin called the EPIC deals with Irish emigration and the influence of the Irish in the world. Really well done museum.
Finally you cannot go wrong with the Sunset Crag rental in Skerries. Highly recommended.
Arend and Sue
This apartment was magnificent. The view of the water with the different water levels with the tide was a sight to see. The owner was a really nice person and we enjoyed the time conversing with her. We will certainly stay there again.
Perfect cozy and relaxing stay!
This was an amazing place to stay! Valerie was a perfect hostess and was so kind to help me with anything I needed. The location for the stay, right on the ocean, made for amazing mornings to wake up to. Also, you're in perfect walking distance to all the restaurants and pubs on the water, where you can enjoy a stroll along the beach. I cannot thank Valerie enough for allowing me to stay and give me the R&R I needed. I'm so looking forward to coming back as soon as I can!!
Skerries is a beautiful fishing village and seaside retreat, 20 miles from Dublin City, and approx 20 minutes from Dublin Airport. Our Apartment is situated close to many tourist attractions, Ardgillan Demesne, one of Fingals County Architectural Masterpieces, although referred to as a Castle, the residence at Ardgillan is a large country-style house with castellated embellishments, is 10 minutes by car. The famous Newgrange ancient buriel grounds are only 30 minutes drive .Shops, Restaurants, and Bars, are all within walking distance.
