We booked the apartment for 1 week, however, we were enjoying ourselves so much, we decided to make it 9 days, we used the decking area in the evenings for drinks while enjoyting the wonderful views. Valerie, our hostess couldent have been more helpful, we will be back again next year!

Skerries is a beautiful fishing village and seaside retreat, 20 miles from Dublin City, and approx 20 minutes from Dublin Airport. Our Apartment is situated close to many tourist attractions, Ardgillan Demesne, one of Fingals County Architectural Masterpieces, although referred to as a Castle, the residence at Ardgillan is a large country-style house with castellated embellishments, is 10 minutes by car. The famous Newgrange ancient buriel grounds are only 30 minutes drive .Shops, Restaurants, and Bars, are all within walking distance.

Delightful start to Irish Trip

We so enjoyed Skerries and living by the sea a few days before starting a group tour of this wonderful country. We did not have a vehicle and found everything conveniently within walking distance. Valerie kindly delivered us to the train station to get to Dublin. The apartment is well supplied and we would gladly return for a longer visit next time!

Excellent, convenient location, spacious apartment, good value

Though Susan and I did not meet Valerie (she was having a holiday of her own in the Canary Islands), we really appreciated her well-equipped upstairs apartment and the exquisite views of the Irish Sea and Skerries village. The weather was the best we had in our three-week stay on the Emerald Isle.

As for the apartment, it is bigger than the pictures might indicate (especially the bedroom and living area), and the bathroom and kitchen are especially nice. The breeze coming through the windows is intoxicating.

Day trips by train into Dublin were easily managed, and we loved the proximity to Newgrange and the airport. Also, very good dining in Skerries...we liked the early bird menu at the Windmill and we had a rollicking good time with locals at DaVino's.

Our only quibble is that the apartment's carpet is a bit worn, but hey, who's quibbling?

Above all, Valerie's place is a good value compared to its competition.

Thank you, Dave and Valerie. We hope to visit again in two to four years.

Fantastic!

Definitely the best equipped apartment my husband and I have ever stayed in.

It was so comfortable and inviting with views that were spectacular.

Wonderful Retreat

We stayed here on the last two nights of our three week tour of southern Ireland mainly because of its closeness to the Dublin Airport. But we wish we had more time at this wonderful retreat. It is an excellent property with magnificent views of the ocean and Skerries. It provided a great base for not only accessing the airport but also the Howth Peninsula and the ancient sites of Newgrange and Knowth. Valerie provides a warm welcome and is close by to answer any questions or address any needs that quests may have. You won't go wrong in choosing this property as part of your Ireland experience. Perfect Holiday Flat

We absolutely loved our stay at Sunset Crag.

Upon our arrival, we were greeting by Valerie, who had scones, jam, milk, bread, and butter all on hand for us. Which was a great treat in teh early afternoon with our toddler in tow.

She went the extra step in providing a day bed so our toddler would be safe in the bedroom with us, and to avoid taking up all the space with the pull out sofa.

As good as the pictures were, they didn't even do the full view justice. We were able to see beautiful sunrises AND sunsets from the comfort of the couch.

Our three year LOVED having the toys that were on hand, and they kept him pretty occupied when we were at the house.

If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Ireland, we will be sure to plan another stay with Valerie!
