Why Wayne Dawson chose Cascade
This cabin is a family retreat by the stream close to everything. Green Mountain Falls/Chipita Park/Cascade has been a family vacation spot for over 150 years. You are close to all the Colorado Springs and Front Range attractions and minutes from Pikes Peak. At 7700 ft elevation the summertime weather is delightful.

The cabin was perfect. It had everything we needed and a great location. We loved sitting on the porch and listening to the creek. I would highly recommend this cabin.
Thanks for your review. Glad you enjoyed time.
Overall the cabin was perfect for our get away. We loved the creek outback and the location is great.
We had a little mix up on the pricing but the property owner was responsive and good to work with.
The cabin was exactly what we expected and the location by the creek was convenient and relaxing! Several deer frequented the property. :) The cabin was fully stocked so we made most of our meals there, which saved us a lot of money. We had no problems staying warm. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you for your generosity!
So Glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for your communication with us on our mix-up and letting us trying to make it right. You took great care of the place. Look forward to when you can come again. Wayne and Robin
Cozy. Super clean. Quiet. Beautiful setting.
My thirteen year old daughter had her spring break scheduled and wanted to re-visit Colorado. I liked what I saw on the VRBO listing regarding the Dawson Creekside Cabin, so we secured the rental from Mr. Dawson. We are from deep South Texas where we can play golf in the winter. My daughter wanted snow so off we went. The moment we walked in we knew we made the right choice. My daughter loved the loft. She immediately banned us from entering. We had quite a laugh. By the third day, things got interesting. We heard of a storm coming through. Little did we know we'd get caught in a Cyclone Bomb. I emailed Mr. Dawson several times as we were very concerned about our situation. Each time, his responses were fast and reassuring. I would recommend this little cabin. It's a great place to relax for a few days plus the ownership is first class.
Thanks for your review. I guess your daughter got her snow!! Spring is the Rockies is fun. Glad you made it home safely. Come again. Wayne Dawson
Great views, but no heat = not worth it
The location, views and ease of checking in were great. However, the place was filthy, broken chips and papers laying around, the floors hadn't been swept, cobwebs and inches of dust. But even worse than being dirty was being absolutely frozen the entire 5 days we were there. The wall heating unit ran non-stop, we had the oven open and running and had to go buy more layers of clothes to keep warm. We would go for car rides in the heated car just to warm up. I'd consider going back in the summer, but then again they don't have air. So, nah.
I'm sorry you were not completely satisfied with your stay. I wish you could have called for furnace advise. It is a simple to adjust red knob, but under the cover as per instructions in the welcome book. If you ran the oven for heat, it would have not allowed the furnace thermostat to run unit as they are right next to each other. The furnace heats the whole place well when adjusted. Thanks for your honest review. Wayne
Cozy cabin with a stream!
Stayed here over Thanksgiving. There is 1 bedroom plus loft. The stairs to the loft are steep, but my boys were older and could handle them. The stream is really peaceful. It's quiet, with an occasional sound of cars driving by on the main road. There's a walking path near by, which is nice to walk to town. The cabin had everything we needed. It does get cold and a bit drafty, but the heater works. The couch and chairs were comfortable. We brought a puzzle and worked on it on the little table in the living room. My husband enjoyed reading the magazines that were provided. The fridge is outdated and had some broken parts on it, some jagged edges that I cut my arm on, so I recommend fixing that, but it does work and fit everything we brought with us. There were condiments provided in the fridge as well. Overall, we had a great stay. We ate breakfast at the Pantry in town, and ate at AJs pizzeria in Woodland Park. Both were great. We visited the North Pole and Colorado wolf and wildlife center. Both great attractions. If you love the sound of a stream, highly recommend this cabin!
