Property is abundant with wildlife-- watch the Moose graze along the pristine mountain lake shoreline--just a few feet away from the deck. Chalet-side main floor has an open-concept kitchen w/ great room plus half-bath and laundry room. The 2 living areas are connected via a large central front entrance into a convenient large foyer/mudroom, w/ doors that can close off each side for privacy. Both kitchens are fully equipped w/ 2 of almost everything.

A large outside deck spans the entire back of the home overlooking the lake, w/ seating for 14+, propane firepit and gas grill (propane provided).

The warmth of hand-hewn natural log is everywhere, brightened by the soaring 30 ft ceilings in the Chalet side w/ a huge wall of windows overlooking the lake and mountains. Home is comfortable and inviting--tastefully decorated w/ quality furnishings and bedding, and classic mountain lodge decor--yet totally family friendly.

So much to do on or within walking distance to this property! Relax on the large deck overlooking the lake, catch record-breaking trout in Sun Valley Lake right from our private dock or small sandy beach or boat. Guests enjoy full use of our canoe, kayak, pedal boat, inner tubes, life vests and fishing gear. As a guest of our home, you also have exclusive private access for fly-fishing on the Colorado River located 1/4 mile from front door.

Grab a mountain bike (2 adult bikes, 2 child bikes provided) and hit the trails for an early morning ride, or wander out the door and explore miles of beautiful hiking in Rocky Mtn. Nat'l Park. (maps and guidebooks provided) Nap in the hammock in the afternoon breeze. Paddle the lake at sunset as the trout are jumping and the alpenglow appears on the mountains. Roast marshmallows in the beach firepit under a brilliant star-filled sky.

Enjoy a game of ping pong or fooseball, or explore our extensive library of books, DVD's, wii games, board games, and puzzles. Wrap yourself in a cozy blanket and find one of the many quiet nooks in this home to snuggle in a chair by the fire, let go, and relax!

The Winding River Resort is within walking distance, and here you can enjoy guided horseback rides into RMNP, pony rides, a petting zoo, basketball courts, evening activities such as square dancing, cowboy poetry, etc. An 18 hole golf course is 3 miles away, and you can also ride your ATV or snowmobile right from our driveway to 150+ miles of groomed trails. About Kami Gilmour

We're from Fort Collins, Colorado and a large, active family with 5 kids and 2 grandchildren. We love living the 'Colorado lifestyle' ...skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, boating, fishing, snowmobiling and ATV'ing ...and hanging out by the lake in our log home!

Why Kami Gilmour chose Grand Lake

We searched for a Colorado vacation home for 10 years with a list of 'must haves' before finding our dream home. Our favorite place...snowmobiling straight from the driveway to the trails!

  • 5 of 5

We love hosting friends and family for Colorado mountain trips, and this property is a snowmobilers dream! Plenty of parking for cars and snowmobile trailers, and the location of the main snowmobiling trailhead is just around the corner! Safe, easy, and convenient for instant access to 100+ miles of trails. Love the location, love the beautiful home with its spacious layout and authentic log home charm!

Cozy cabin, wonderful memories

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed a lovely 5-day stay at Twin Pines. Kami made herself available in case we needed anything, and her property manager gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home. The kids enjoyed the lake (boats were awesome!), the dads enjoyed the fire pits, and everyone loved the beautiful surroundings. Thanks, Kami and crew for the wonderful memories. We hope to return some day!

Bad Dads Club 2017 Destination of Choice

  • 5 of 5

Our group of dads, who have been fortunate enough for 20 years to escape our wives and kids for 1 weekend a year, were smart enough to choose Grand Lakes this year and have Twin Pines as our base of operations. It is an awesome place - welcome brownies at our arrival; space for our entire group; kitchens that allowed our gourmet cook dads to work their magic; a momma moose and her baby to greet us on morning 1; a fantastic fire pit at lake's edge for evening gatherings. Highly recommend Twin Pines!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin for our family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

The twin pines cabin exceeded our expectations! What a beautiful property inside and out! The owners have thought of everything, down to the last detail to make the cabin welcoming and enjoyable. We had a great time both at the cabin and exploring the RMNP and a hike to Adams falls. The kids were on the lake using the boats and paddle boards all day. We also saw moose every day!
