Champraz 2 is a beautiful 5 person (4 adults maximum) apartment that provides the independence and freedom of self-catering with the attention to detail and touches normally found in a chalet. The apartment is a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary styles using local wood, plaster and stone. We have indulged our dream of creating the perfect ‘mountain bolt-hole’. Thoughtfully packed with the furnishings and technology needed to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and effortless.

Why Chris Jones chose Haute-Savoie

Over a decade ago the two of us, that’s Chris and Liz, fell in love with Chamonix when we came across it back in 2003 while following the “route de grandes alps”. Fast forward a few holidays and years later and we both decided that Chamonix had just the right mix of summer and winter activites to keep us interested all year round and we eventually purchased an apartment in 2007. Our apartment was substantially renovated and we have been successfully renting our apartment ever since to guests all over the world.

Cosy apartment, great customer service

My partner and I booked the apartment for New Years Eve and the process couldn't have been easier. Liz was quick to respond to my enquiry and dealt with the multiple questions I had about the apartment. Once we had decided to proceed, the booking was straightforward and organised. Before departure we were provided with carte d'hotes (cards that enabled free travel around resort and various discounts in resort that some of our friends in other apartments had not been provided) and a helpful guide to the apartment and resort. Upon arrival, we weren't disappointed! The apartment is as cosy as the pictures show and some of the pictures do not do justice to the size of some of the rooms. The apartment lounge is large and comfy with a proper fireplace and enough space to entertain up to 6 guests. We spent many an evening in by the fire watching DVDs (provided by Chris and Liz) or cooking in the fully equipped kitchen. In terms of cooking utensils, we didn't want for anything as Chris and Liz have ensured that all the essentials (and more) are provided. The apartment is blessed with underfloor heating and non-stop hot water - a must when outside is freezing cold!

Given the nature of Chamonix, I would recommend that future guests hire a car as it makes it easier to travel to the various ski resorts and the bus service isn't always 100% reliable. The apartment has an underground car park that allows this. We didn't hire a car. However we managed to walk to Chamonix within 15 minutes (a lovely walk along the river and beneficial after a hearty meal) and to the nearest bus stop within 7 minutes (which was hard work with skis and boots after a long day skiing).

All in all, a lovely apartment with friendly and efficient customer service from Chris and Liz. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting an independent holiday in a cosy apartment.

Some restaurant recommendations: Le Monchu (fabulous traditional Savoyarde restaurant) and Le Chaudron (compact, buzzy French restaurant) in Chamonix town centre and La Cabane des Praz (fabulous log chalet with large log fire, great service and high quality food).

Excellent location in Chamonix

Our family, including 2 teenage sons have just enjoyed a superb holiday at Apartment Champraz 2. All facilities were really well appointed and its an easy and enjoyable walk to either Chamonix or Les Praz.

The small garden area was absolutely perfect, a great relax with some wine after a day in the mountains watching the sun go down on Mont Blanc. What could be better?!

Excellent apartment in a great location

Stayed here for a week in march 2010,excellent location with fantastic mountain views.The apartment on arrival was clean and had everything you could wish for on a weeks stay,it was extremely comfortable and considering there was 5 of us,it didn`t feel cramped.

I found Liz and Chris the owners of the property very easy to deal with and they provided the answers to any questions quickly.

The apartment is situated in a great spot,its a nice walk into Chamonix town along the river,there are many bars and restaurants there to enjoy.A car would be an advantage if skiing as it would be a bit of an effort to carry all your gear to the nearest lift.

I would definately return here when i come to Chamonix again,you can`t get enough of waking up to the view from the bedroom

New Year break

We have just returned from New Year break skiing. The apartment was fantastic we really enjoyed our stay. spotlessly clean with everything we required on hand.

We didn't get to walk into chamonix due to bad weather so we found that a car was essential to us on our stay, however I'm sure had the weather been better we would have enjoyed the walk.

Found some good restaurants in the next village and the shop their is open till 7pm if you arrive a little late for the supermarket.

We would return to this apartment again.

Chamonix ski break

Brilliant place. I will definitely go back. Great location; easy walk into Chamonix centre, and really well placed for getting to the slopes. The levels of comfort really exceeded expectations. Massively warm and homely to come back to after a hard day on the slopes, great fire, great dining area and a kitchen with everything you could want, loved that is was in a really quiet and relaxing spot. And the views are utterly enchanting. The booking and confirmation was easy and Liz was very helpful. Also everything is new. Would also recommend a meal at Robinsons a small, intimate restaurant just a short walk from the apartment. I have already recommended the apartment to my friends. Great holiday, thank you very much!

Our apartment is in one of the most perfect spots in Chamonix, the area feels rural & alpine surrounded by chalets yet it is only 15 minutes on foot into the town centre of Chamonix where you will find a massive selection of restaurants & bars as well as super-markets, bakers & numerous shops. Walk from the apartment 15 minutes in the other direction to the centre of the village of Les Praz with its golf course. A Fishing lake is less than 2 minutes walk.

The apartment is perfectly placed for all of Chamonix's activities. Chamonix is a year round destination; In Winter with over 80% of ski runs above 1800m it has skiing from early December to May. In Summer it is a mecca for climbers, walkers, mountain bikers, parapenters & tourists all keen to enjoy this glacial playground.

The ski bus is a 10 minute walk, 10 mins in car to ski. In summer you can walk to the lifts of Aguille Du Midi, Brevent & Flegere. The local swimming complex, tennis & squash courts are 7 minutes walk.

Other Activities: Snow boarding, climbing, ice skating, bowling, sledging
