The Silver Palms Cottage is tucked away at the water's edge in a small cove on the south coast of Providenciales, overlooking the tranquil turquoise waters of Long Bay Beach. This charming little cottage offers self-catering accommodation for a maximum of 6 people in three cozy bedrooms. It is the ideal spot for a romantic get-away, or a fun family vacation. Silver Palms Cottage is the perfect alternative to the traditional hotel and resort experience. Our comfortable little cottage can be your private beach home for a weekend, a week or a month.
The cottage, decorated in a causal but homely style, includes a comfy living room complete with cable TV, DVD player and iPod dock, a fully equipped kitchen, and bedrooms with a comfortable queen-size, double and twin beds. The spacious deck, with panoramic views of the bay is furnished for alfresco dining.
Step off the deck on to miles of wide, natural, virtually uninhabited beach that invites you for leisurely walks, shelling and sun-bathing. You might see an occasional beachcomber or a couple of day-trippers, but most of the time you’ll have the sands to yourselves.
Quiet and secluded, yet accessible to everything. We are just a few minutes from many fine restaurants, shops, galleries, supermarkets and banks . Golfing and boating/ sailing facilities are also in close proximity.
For the adventurous, many exhilarating excursions and unique adventures are available through local tour operators. Some of the island's best water activities can be found right here. Long Bay beach is the premier beach on island for kite boarding. Kite-boarding takes place just a few kilometers away. The mangroves that flank the eastern coastline of the property offers the prefect opportunity of kayaking and fishing. Inflatable Kayaks and Canoe are provided at the cottage for the use of our guest. Explore the nearby coastal mangroves with these lightweight, easy to use inflatable kayaks and canoes.
If you are in search of peace and harmony, just enjoy the serenity of your own private cottage. Relax on the deck and soak up the warm sunshine or toast marshmallows while sitting at your private fire ring and watching the magnificent sunsets. Alternatively, you can visit one of the many spas on island.
There are only a few private, non-condo, beach homes available on Long Bay Beach, Providenciales that are directly on the sand and this is one of them. The property is located right on the beach. You step off the deck right on to the beach.
Alternatively, spend the day wadding in our newly constructed 27ft swimming pool. A refreshing dip goes a long way after a hot day of site seeing. A great Spot for reading a good book, an evening cocktail and meeting new friends. The pool area is a favorite gathering spot for guests. So come and make Silver Palms Cottage your home away from home.
Note: We have an adjacent beachfront 2 bedroom + loft cottage on property, which is an exact replica. We can also offer you a HOUSE + CAR package, as part of the rental.

Our group consisted of 3 couples looking for a vacation house with easy beach access for winter kiteboarding: and this was it! We stayed for 2 weeks and really felt comfortable and safe. We were able to kite here, right at the house, more than 50% of the time and drove the few miles to the other side of the island for wave sailing when the wind blew in the right direction for 3 other days. The house was comfortable and met our needs, although the climb to the loft was a surprise! The addition of the car was a necessary convenience and well worth it. Better than renting from one of the national companies. The stray dogs were gentle, sweet and won us over but, don't fall to the temptation of feeding them. They actually live a few lots down the beach. Had a small glitch with the water pump on our first day there, but Wesley got it fixed that same evening. Our only complaint was that the Internet access went down for 4 days, but it was an island outage and Wesley and Tatum did their best to remedy the situation. And the pool was great with a wonderful viewing area of the entire bay. Fun to lounge around and enjoy a beer at the end of the day. Because the flatwater kiting in the winter was so good, we are considering returning in the future. Thanks Wesley and Tatum, it was a vacation we will all remember.
We spent a week in one of the cottages owned by Wesley and Tatum. There were 6 of us. The cottage is cozy and lived in and just as it looks in the pictures. It is not fancy but was very clean and comfortable. We spent minimal time inside. We were always on the beach or the screened in porch. There is a lot of privacy between the 2 cottages. Each cottage has its own beach chairs and beach bed which was probably my favorite thing. You do share the fire pit with your neighbors but that was not a problem at all. The fire pit is huge and there are plenty of chairs. Ben who is the caretaker started the fire for us every night and made sure we had enough wood. The stars were amazing! Life doesn't get much better than a bon fire on the beach every night.
We all thought the sand was soft and easy to walk in barefoot. The water is very shallow as others have said. That wasn't a problem for us. We used the kayaks and paddle board every day. We also took advantage of the beautiful pool overlooking the beach. When we wanted to swim in the ocean we just drove 5 - 10 minutes to another beach. There are many to choose from and all are beautiful and not crowded. One day the wind changed and a lot of seaweed washed up on the beach in front of us. Ben was right out there and raked it all up. He was great about keeping the beach clean. He also changed the sheets on the outdoor bed, swept all the sand off the walkways, freshened the bucket of water to rinse our feet, cleaned the pool, etc. Be sure to talk with him. He is very sweet and is learning English.
Mid week a woman came and did a thorough cleaning. I was surprised. I was only expecting her to leave us clean towels and change the sheets but she also cleaned the entire cottage. She even washed the dishes and put them away. We did have a couple of minor problems during the week but Wesley and Tatum were quick to respond.
Our children are in their late 20's. They all agreed it was a wonderful place to stay. It is very private. Some days we never saw anyone else on the beach. Some might not like that but we thought it was perfect. Being able to walk off the screened porch directly to the beach was so nice. Oh and we also rented the van from the owners. That was great. No waiting in line at the rental car place and when we left we just parked the van in the parking lot at the airport. So much easier.
I would highly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay here again. Thanks
Merci.
Lovely, does not do this place justice. My family stayed here (father, husband & 3 sons-8 week old baby, 10 & 12 year old.)
First time to Turks so we didn't know what to expect - besides the reviews. This island is much smaller then I imagined so once I figured that out I had a little more peace (getting off the plane and seeing they drive on the other side of the road was a bit stressful- with 3 kids and a long travel day). I highly recommend having the fridge stocked with cold drinks - they do supply a water cooler- which was nice & renting their car.
The house was clean and cozy.. I love a modern, boutique hotel - and I would still choose this cottage again.
Bring lots of bug spray & sunblock! The sand fleas & mosquitos are no joke....we didn't know we were getting bit so lube your feet and ankles even during the day- & repeat & repeat.
We bubble wrapped & zip locked wine & liquor- SO glad we did.
I was surprised with how great the grocery stores are- Yes, very expensive, but amazing selections (we are foodies). There are 3 grocery stores on the Island, we primarily went to IGA, there is a smaller boutique grocery even closer to house - grace something-
Housekeepers were really great & super sweet! They do clean house of everything you leave behind for next people...so if your a coupon clipper you might want to bring everything you use... foil, fav. spices, hand soap, zip locks etc.
Ben the grounds keeper is THE BEST. When we left we gave him everything.
We liked the Somewhere Cafe & The Conch Shack the best for food & atmosphere-they both have amazing places to swim as well ...& Lupo's pizza was spot on (place is tiny). Could of done without Bella Luna- just ok. We didn't make it to Stelle or Coco Bistro which I heard were good.
Wesley & Tatum gave us the best vacation ever. We cant wait to come back!
xo Paul, Matt, Shannon, Ronan, Harrison & Wolfgang
(give Ben a hug from us)
I am writing because I felt some reviews were a bit unfair based on what we experienced over two weeks at the cottage. Overall, Silver Palms is like a "mini resort" and TCI is what I think Heaven must be like.
Myth One: OMG! They don't supply toilet paper! Nope! And you can save the space in your luggage-I brought 8 rolls and never used one.
Myth Two: OMG! The Beach is pebbles, not sand! Baloney....Its a natural powder sand beach...you will find all kinds of cool stuff on it.....And most people do not wear water shoes.
Myth Three: OMG! The house is not as represented....well, its better....the distinction is the house is IN the Beach, not ON the Beach...big difference. The Grace bay Hotels are ON the beach...You lucky traveler, will be living IN the beach.....which has different rules...Salt corrodes everything..so expect clean comfortable beach house, not the Four Seasons. And you will be communing with Beach critters-they live there too.
Myth Four: DOOM to those who do not bring FOOD.....Nope! Prices are the same as other resorts in Hawaii, or islands where food is imported. IGA has great sales, so bring your favorite foods that you can't live without. (They might not be stocked).
Some tips to make your trip better:
1. Hang out in the Mangrove on a Kayak and watch the Discovery Channel Live!
2. Bring Plenty of Mosquito Repellent...I brought a nifty device called a "THERMACELL." Way less mess, and keeps a large area bug free
3. Bring Paper Plates- With no dishwasher, this makes cleanups easier.
4. Pay it Forward-we donated our unused items to the neighbors before we left. Nice way to minimize waste and say hello.
5. If you see an Issue, Say something to Tatum and Wesley-They really care about your experience, and we found them to be at the top of their peers in responsiveness, honesty, humor, and in taking care of issues quickly. They are not resting on laurels-They are setting the standard for successful VRBO owners.
My hope is this Myth Busting and tips makes your trip more enjoyable-
Did write to Tatum that one improvement would be to seal the bottom of the front door with a new door sweep. It would really help keep the bugs out, and A/C in.
This cottage on the beach was so relaxing and perfect! Our cottage was clean, well equipped, and right on a private beach where we woke to clear, calm, blue waters. The water Kites were awesome to watch, and the fire pit on the beach topped off every night at sunset and beyond. The owners and locals were extremely friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again on my next trip to this beautiful island.
We love TCI! This was our second stay on Provo, and we decided to change it up a bit and stay on Long Bay, in a cottage, as opposed to Grace Bay, in a condo. It did not disappoint. We arrived at the airport after a short, direct flight from Newark NJ with our 3 young boys. The car was waiting for us in the parking lot, clearly marked and we were set to go. Directions were great. Pulled up to the house and were immediately greeted by Ben, the groundskeeper, who was so nice and attentive. House is great. Perfect for a family our size. We did not use the upstairs bedroom due to the pull down stairs and the accessibility for the boys. They are a bit too young to go up and down by themselves. The beach was gorgeous. We spent most of our days in the water watching the kite-boarders go by. The water was perfect for our kids. They were able to play and we were not worried that they would get knocked down by a wave. We enjoyed the kayaks, although they were a little small for the adults ( they tended to take on water) and the kids really enjoyed the pools. My husband and I took turns running to the tip and back ,on the beach each morning, which was awesome. The car was a must. You must drive to everything in that area. Grocery store was close and so were the Grace Bay restaurants, ice-cream, and shopping, etc. We toured the island, which is very easy to navigate. Some of our favorite restaurants are Bugaloos, Da Conch Shack, the restaurant at the Cultural Market, next to Ocean Club, just to name a few. The Conch Farm was very interesting. Snorkeling was awesome at Coral Gardens and Turtle Cove.
The owners were GREAT! They were very attentive and answered any questions we had. They even stopped by to meet us and recommended things for us to do and see. We really enjoyed talking with them.
The house basically had all the amenities that we needed. Some of of the areas of the house, such as the bathroom, could use some updating, but overall it was great. We did have an ant issue near the kitchen sink, but we mentioned it to the owners and they were gone the next day.
I would say that this is the perfect, secluded spot for families with small children looking for tranquility. And if you rent the cottage next door as well you could have the entire property to yourselves. ( our neighbors were awesome)
We look forward to renting from Tatum again!
Silver Palms Cottage is located approximately 13.8 km ( 8 miles) - about 15 mins from the airport on the south coast of the island, on Long Bay Beach, which is less developed than the more popular Grace Bay Beach, (no more than five minutes away by car). But that's one of the best features of the cottage, it provides privacy, peace, tranquility but yet close to all the popular spots on Providenciales.
Long Bay Beach, is also one of the most popular beaches for kite boarding and some of the more exhilarating water sporting activities like jet skiing. The mangroves and shallow waters of the Bay also make the area an ideal spot for novice fishers. For the more avid fishers, we would recommend a day trip to the flats of the Caicos Banks where bone fishing is a favorite.
The mangroves located right at your door-step and the clear crystal waters also provide excellent conditions for snorkeling. However, the best area for snorkeling on Provo are located on the near-shore patch reefs on the North Coast.
The closest restaurant to the cottage is at the miniature golf course (walking distance), which is a popular spot for casual dining and it serves fantastic local and international cuisine. However, the cottage is no more than 5 minutes drive from other restaurants, supermarkets and shopping centers at the Grace Bay area.
It is advisable that consideration be given to renting a vehicle as there is no established public transportation system apart from taxis. The use of bicycle is becoming more popular as a mode of transportation by many visitors to the island.
However, it does restrict your visit to attractions and dining areas that are nearby. Alternatively, there are also scooters on island for rent, which would permit greater flexibility and range in travel.
