I am working near the ATL airport for several months, and was looking for a place with a minimal commute to avoid the notorious Atlanta traffic. There are not many housing locations near the airport that are highly desirable, but the Jefferson Park community is an exception. The neighborhood is filled with very well kept updated bungalow homes and what seems to be a very rich since of community ownership. The home itself is filled with all of the amenities that would fit the needs of either a long or short stay, including a very well-outfitted kitchen. The owner, Doug, has been extremely responsive to all of my inquiries and needs, regardless of how small they may seem. I would highly recommend Doug's house for a stay of any length in south Atlanta.
We just completed a month long stay at this property. We are from Atlanta and were looking for a small home near our home in downtown Atlanta (we moved out for a renovation.) First, know that East Point is so very close to Atlanta, without all of the hustle-and-bustle of being downtown. You can take the interstate or the "back way." It's very convenient to 75 or 85, northbound or southbound, so you can go anywhere fast. The home itself is delightful. It's in a quiet, quaint neighborhood. The house is spacious and spotless, and the sunlight it receives is just downright beautiful. It's fully equipped, we wanted for nothing. Anytime I had a question, the owner answered me immediately. Even though this was not a vacation for us, this house helped turned what could have been a very stressful time into a pleasurable experience. I'd highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet retreat, but one easy access to Atlanta's many sites.
Perfect home rental for my small family.
My children LOVED ths home immediately and asked if I could buy a home like yours. The soul of the home is that of a grandmother. Upon entry, I left like I wanted to hug a grandmother and eat cake. Also, the home is perfectly decorated. The soft colors are very Zen and relaxing, the colors and scale of the art work perfectly compliment each room, the low end / high end mix of furniture was also great, the deck, the lighting and the gardens feel like a piece of private paradise, and last but not least - the kitchen. It's so wonderfully stocked with high end cookware and dishware that any chef would be honored to prepare a meal in that kitchen!
Being comfortable in our surroundings made our first visit to Atlanta a very memorable visit.
If the creator allows us to return to Atlanta I look forward to having the pleasure of enjoying your home again.
I came into town for a celebrity event in the Atlanta area and needed a place to stay on very short notice. I found most options were condos and I always prefer to rent houses wherever I stay.
I found Doug's house to be very quaint. He had a beautiful backyard and back and side porches with amazing views. He also had one of the most impressive collections of kitchenware I have ever come across, with a really incredible selection of utensils, dishes, cookware, etc. I stayed in the bedroom on the first floor and it was ultra comfortable and there were plenty of desks to get my work done while I was at the house. It was also very close to the Atlanta downtown area and was able to get there within 15 minutes or so.
I felt very "at home" and comfortable staying here and it allowed me to treat a business trip more like a mini-vacation. I highly recommend to anyone looking to visit the Atlanta area -- thanks again Doug!!
You can stay in a multi-unit condo in any city. My home offers you the opportunity to live in a quiet, progressive, tranquil neighborhood just an 11-minute drive from downtown Atlanta, Turner Field, the Georgia Dome, the Georgia Acquarium, Philips Arena, GA Tech Bobby Dodd Stadium, Georgia State University, Atlanta Merchandise Mart, Georgia World Congress Center, Georgia International Convention Center, the Atlanta University complex, and the Georgia State Capitol. Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza and Buckhead with shops like Neiman-Marcus, Bloomingdales, Nordstroms, and Saks Fifth Avenue are just a 25 minute drive away. All of these landmarks are accessible from the East Point MARTA subway station, just 1.2 miles from the house. The new headquarters of Porche USA is 2 miles away.
There are two municipal golf courses within 3 miles, and many other outdoor activities. This is a perfect neighborhood for walking, jogging and biking (bike included in rental). Public tennis and basketball courts 3 blocks away. Sweetwater State Park is 15 miles away.
My home is located in the quiet and quaint Jefferson Park neighborhood. This is a tree-covered neighborhood of pre-World War II bungalows with many young, professional couples. If you are looking for lots of street life and noisy, nearby nightclubs, this is not your place. But if you like the idea of a bucolic retreat almost in the center of one of America's most vibrant cities, this is it.
No refunds 30 days or less prior to arrival. Three adults maximum occupancy.
