This cabin is truly a getaway cabin. It is cozy while feeling spacious with all the windows. Firepit and hammock are our favorite features.
In nature, but still easy access, short dirt road leads to the cabin. The night sky is really nice to see form the hot tub without light pollution from cities.
We loved seeing the deer and enjoyed hot tubs every night.
We loved the movies + Netflix & PS3. Just Dance 3 was a blast!
The boys and hubby enjoyed:
-Anna Ruby falls
-Hog Wild barbeque
-Gold Grubbin Gems
Helen was too touristy for us.
Best vacay ever!
My husband and myself, along with our 3 small dogs, were looking to escape the heat of Florida. Unfortunately, the heat followed us, but we still had a good time. The chalet is very nice and has everything you need. The owner was very easy to reach and responded almost immediately to any questions we had. He couldn't have been nicer. We enjoyed Anna Ruby Falls, Brasstown Bald, the town of Helen, Clarkesville and lunch at the Attic, Cool River ziplining and the town of Dahlonega. Betty's in Helen was a wonderful place to get a muffin, cut of meat, general groceries and an old fashioned general store. The town of Helen is very cute, but the usual tourist town. We loved Daglonega and the people were so friendly!! The only thing missing at the chalet were blinds for all of the upper Windows. It was 90 degrees out and even when the a/c was set at 72 it couldn't cool the house down enough. We enjoyed the hot tub, the firepit and the comfortable furniture and bed. There was a lot of thought put into the house, and I would have given it 5 stars if not for the heat in the house in the afternoon. Nice private and wooded setting. Very convenient to things to do and see in the area.
We had a great weekend! First, because we had great directions, entry was fairly easy even though we arrived after dark. The cabin was in an optimal spot for all we wanted to do (which was visit Helen but not stay with the busy crowds) and visit Mark of the Potter, and Unicoi. Since we have two young children, quiet time was essential for nap times and bedtimes and this cabin had enough distance away that we could do that. I LOVED the beautiful railings, wood floors, exposed beams, and views. It was very family friendly (I brought my own baby gate, but we did locate that a baby gate was already there in a closet! Awesome!) My toddler could twist the locks and doorknobs etc, so I should have brought some doorknob covers, but I was careful to watch him anyway (that's just the age we are at). My oldest LOVED having the loft space to sleep and to play the Wii games (never wanted to leave). We all thought the hot tub was great, and the night sky was so beautiful and HUGE we were glad we brought our telescope up to use! also, thumbs up for a cool grill! We didn't use it because I was on strike for cooking :-)...wish we had used the fire pit too (brought wood and donated it to the pile- ran out of time!). I did give a four rather than five stars for just a few reasons, so here are my critiques...gets very very warm mid day, so we went out again to town because it was too hot to stay inside. I supposed this was due to the large windows and sun beaming in, but hey the view was great! Winter would be perfect for this! Also, as others mentioned... downstairs toilet area is a very tight fit. Go upstairs, its larger! We tried to leave as clean as we found and respected the property. It could have some updates for the bedding and curtains. Overall, wonderful space for the price...had many thoughtful extras and I would recommend it to a friend. Thank you for having us!
This was the perfect place for our family vacation. Away from all of the hustle but close enough to enjoy all of the attractions in the area. It was nice coming back to the cabin after a busy day running around.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. With 4 children it was great to have room to spread out. Very convenient to Helen and tubing and miniature golf at the Pirate Golf were our highlights. We hiked to Ruby Falls and Mt Bald.
The cabin is comfortable and they fixed squeaky bed in previous comments. Hot tub was relaxing and the winery down the road was fun for tasting.
Thanks for the great stay!
Our stay was very pleasant. Cabin was close to Helen and near by stores. Only concern would be how small the bathroom is. The house was well stocked and the kids enjoyed the hot tube and smores at night with the fire pit. Might want to rethink the master bedroom bed a little hard and noise. I would recommend this cabin.
The cabin was nice and as pictured. Our favorite feature was the fire pit. Very relaxing. It was a little warm since it was a hot weekend and the top living room windows don't have shades, but it cooled down at night. I would have liked to have heavier curtains or blinds in the bedrooms to be able to sleep in a little later. The owner was very quick to respond to emails. We visited Helen for a short time, but ended up going back to cabin since it was such a hot day! I would like to come back in the fall when it cools down a bit. The owners instructions on how to get to the cabin were very helpful. It wasn't difficult to find, but I could see if it were dark the first time looking for it, it might be.
There is a cafeteria open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with good southern food in walking distance from the cabin.
Also across the cafe there is a gas station with general store for everyday supplies.
The location is in the middle of three cities, Helen, Cleveland and Clarkesville, each less than 10 miles away. Helen and Sautee, which is five miles from the cabin, offers great attractions including restaurants, shopping, activities like go-karts, golfing, tubing, helicopter rides, night life etc.
Clarkesville and Cleveland offer more traditional smalltown attractions with square in the center and small shops and cafes to be explored walking.
