Cozy mountain cabin retreat, remote with view of large creek, complete with trout, that runs through the property. Hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, gem hunting, all in the immediate area. Cabin has open floor plan so the cook is always part of the party. Outdoors is a large deck overlooking the creek and the distant mountains. Why go inside when you have a setting like this?
We wanted to let everyone know that we just got back home from staying in this wonderful cabin. We all had a blast and the cabin is beautiful. The kids loved playing in the creek and cooking smores on the firepit. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the creek. The weather was great while we were there and we were able to sleep at night with the sliding glass doors open. Mr. Tripp and his wife were awesome and assisted us with anything we needed. We look forward to coming back and staying again. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful place with us!!!!!
I noticed there haven't been any recent reviews so I just want to say having stayed here I think at least 5 times maybe more it is our go to place. Our most recent trip was in March this year and have stayed a few more times prior to this. We are actually booked to come back next week. Lois the owner has always been very helpful with getting us booked and the cabin is well stocked except for food and even then there might be a snack or two there. Greg the property manager is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We have never had a reason to call him for repair or any other problems but I'm sure he would be on top of it if needed. I think the listing description is accurate. Road can be a little rough but I have a Jeep. My son visited one day we were here and had no problem with his Altima sedan and there was a bit of rain washout on the road up close to end that day. If your looking for a clean, comfortable and secluded stay with lots of woods and streams to explore this might be for you. Great fishing and water sports are nearby.
Lois, thanks for sharing your home with us.

We were looking for a place that got us away from phones ,internet, and the hussle and bussle of everyday life. We found it at this property! Sitting on the porch each day was great! The only things to hear are the creek and the birds. Just what we were looking for!
The cabin had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. It was clean and well maintained. Logs ready for the fireplace or fire pit. I can't say enough about how great it was. Greg, the property manager was friendly and helpful at all times. Thank you Lois, for letting us stay at your cabin, it did wonders for our souls. If we ever get up that way again, I do hope your cabin will be available.
Greg was very helpful. The cabin was clean and ready for our visit. We are looking forward to another stay here in the future. Our dog loved running through the woods and playing in the creek. He was exhausted at the end of our stay and slept the whole way home. Even though it was too warm to have a fire in the cabin, we took advantage of a couple cool evenings and relaxed with a glass of wine and a fire in the firepit.
We had a great time at your cabin. We will be booking it again very soon.
Love the hiking that we did and the dogs had a blast. So nice to find a place that is affordable and so cute. The host Greg was very helpful. Thank you for letting us share your home.

Just returned from my fourth trip to this magical place! My dogs love it, and I'll be back!
Cabin is located about mid-way between Franklin NC and Bryson City NC, about six miles off of HWY 28N. It is above the Telico Trout Farm and near the Telico Gap. Great place for hiking and it is possible to walk up to the Appalacian Trail from the cabin site. One of the major attractions is Cherokee, NC. The cabin is some what remote so you will need plenty of provisions since trips to town are a time consuming event usually an hour round trip. We are closer to Bryson City than Franklin but the road to BC is very winding, at some spots you can see your own tail lights.
There are so many things to do here, such as rafting down the Nanahala Gorge, hiking to the Teleco Gap observation tower, hunting gems at the many gem mines in the area, mountain biking, and the kids really love going to the Fun Factory in town. Franklin also has a new Performing Arts center. And if you are brave enough to head for the deep woods in the winter time there is sledding and skiing (sleds provided!)
