About Ferd Ho (en) or Genevieve Milord (en, fr, sp)

My name is Geneviève. I grew up and went to school in Quebec city. I moved to Vancouver where I started my career in journalism. I fell in love with the west coast and settled in, but I always wanted to keep some ties in Quebec. I share my passion for my 'culture quebecoise' with my family. I only speak French to my daughters since they were born and I am very proud to have fully bilingual children.

Ferd Ho (en) or Genevieve Milord (en, fr, sp) purchased this condo in 2007

Why Ferd Ho (en) or Genevieve Milord (en, fr, sp) chose Quebec City

We bought our condo in 2007 because we thought we would settle there again but changed our mind. So we decided to keep it for our kids and rent it out. We think it would be great for the girls to have a place to live in the old city if, and when, they wish to attend a french university - and for us to use it occasionally when visiting family.

What makes this condo unique

We totally fell in love with our condo on the first visit. It was also my husband's first visit to Quebec City and he thought the 'old city' with its surrounding stone fortifications and very old buildings was like walking in medieval Europe in the middle of North America - but still have his daily dose of delicious croissant and steaming espresso, two minutes walk from the condo.

It is really convenient to be able to walk to wonderful restaurants, bars, boutiques and public transport.

During the summer, you will feel like you are right in the middle of the on-going season festivities. And in the Winter, the silence is deafening, interrupted only by the stuttering sounds of horses footsteps on ancient cobbled stones. It is also an excellent home base for Mont Sainte-Anne ski resorts and Carnival de Quebec.

Clean, nicely decorated, well appointed and perfectly situated in Virus Quebec.

This condo is perfect for families or a group of friends. With two floors and two bathrooms it gives the feeling of being at home instead of a hotel. The location was quiet but only minutes away from anywhere you would want to see in Quebec. The kitchen had everything you would need to make a snack or a full meal. The bathrooms were spotless. Arrival and departure was seamless. This condo is the perfect place to land after a day of walking around this beautiful city.

The Condo that we stayed in was absolutely perfect.

  • 5 of 5

Four great girl friends, visiting Quebec for one's milestone birthday ... can't get much better than that except it did! The condo we rented via VRBO was so perfect in so many ways. It was clean, provided everything a person would need, located in what seemed to be a perfectly safe neighborhood, convenient off street parking and the best part ... literally a 2-minute walk to what felt like stepping into Europe and the beginning of what ended up being miles and miles of walking through the Old City - upper and lower. So many wonderful sights to see, restaurants to eat and drink in and shops to browse through. We had a magnificent three days in Quebec City and so appreciated coming home to the beautiful condo instead of a hotel room. In fact, two of the three nights, after six hours of walking around each day, we had dinner right there instead of going back out! We found a grocery store just a few blocks away, bought what we needed and cooked our own meals - breakfasts too except the last morning when we went out for delicious crepes ... again just minutes away on St. Jean Rue. The whole weekend was truly delightful and we've already started talking about the "next time" we come back and will hopefully be able to stay in the same condo. Thanks to the owners and VRBO for making the whole process so easy and hassle free. And many thanks to the property manager for answering every call, for being so kind and helpful. Really, I could just keep going but I'm running out of characters. The whole experience was just fantastic and we can't wait to do it again! Thank you!!!

Comfortable, spacious and convenient

  • 5 of 5

Very smooth booking and handling of the key pick-up and drop-off. The apartment was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The firewood supply was a nice surprise, as was the proximity (and friendliness) of the parking facility right behind the building. Overall solid value close to everything in Vieux Quebec without being too close to the bells of the Cathedral.

Fantastic condo in an amazing location!

  • 5 of 5

This condo is in a superb location and has every convenience you could wish for! We stay as a family with children, but it would be equally well suited for a get away with friends since all of the rooms have queen or double beds. We have stayed in this condo several times now and we always enjoy our stay. The owner and his property manager are easy to reach and very helpful. We will be back again!

4 1/2 months in Quebec!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I (and numerous guests over the 4 1/2 month period) enjoyed our stay in this comfortable condo. It is perfectly situated within the walls of old Quebec with easy access to excellent public transport. We were comfortable, and Diane, the site manager was quick to answer any questions or concerns we may have had. We were just around the corner from rue St Jean (with a vast selection of wonderful restaurants and good shopping) and a short walk to the Frontenac and other sites of the old city. I would highly recommend this property.
