Welcome to Whispering Pines Wells with its own private association beach that is just a three minute walk away.
This is a four season getaway retreat that was outfitted and furnished with the vacationer in mind. The first floor has a fully equipped modern kitchen and dining area, a living room with flat screen tv and a freestanding gas fireplace, a bedroom with a new Queen size bed and a bathroom with a tub and a shower, as well as a washer and dryer.
The upper level has a loft area with a twin bed and a desk, and a master bedroom that features a queen size bed. There is also a half bath.
A large front deck and a screen porch adds outdoor living space in the warmer months & has a porch glider, adirondack chairs and a patio table.
There is a fire pit for your evening enjoyment. A gas grill is also available for you to use.
Why drive for hours when a great vacation is so close? Whispering Pines Wells is a short drive from most anywhere.
In the winter months, it is only 20 minutes to Lapland Lakes cross-country skiing and 40 minutes to Gore Mountain. In the summer and fall, there are many hikes in the area to waterfalls, mountain tops and the Northville-Lake Placid Trail. A great bike ride is the 3.5 mile loop around the lake and through the town. In the spring, you can go fishing in the lake or one of many nearby rivers.
Inside Whispering Pines you will find wifi, cable, a blu-ray player with Netflix and Pandora, books, games and puzzles and an iPod speaker. There is a fully outfitted kitchen with a k-cup coffee maker, crock pot and a blender. Outside there is a large flat yard, hammock and chairs, two kayaks, a 15' canoe and a Sunfish sailboat, with all the accessories. There are carts for transporting the watercraft the short two minute trip to the launching area.
We enjoy the Southern Adirondacks and have been vacationing in this area since we were children. For a long time, it has been a dream of ours to own a home on a lake and in the mountains. Our hope is to share our good fortune with families like you, who want to enjoy the fun and excitement of Lake Algonquin and all the magic that this region offers, but then want to retreat to the whispering pines, to reflect on the day, and dream about tomorrow.
Let us be your hosts for your next vacation.
We just spent a week here and couldn't be happier! The house looks brand new, very well appointed, and watercraft is supplied! 4 kayaks, a canoe, a sunfish, even fishing gear is provided! There is also a cute private sandy beach within walking distance that has a designated rope in the water to protect swimmers from the boaters. The view of the mountains from here is amazing too! Our week started out cold and cloudy, but we made the best out of it by taking hikes, garnet mining, going to the stone bridge, and going to lake George, which was about an hour away. We grilled and built fires in the fire pit just about every night, people are selling plenty of firewood everywhere, and the general store about 5 minutes away has just about everything you need. My only complaint is that the beds were too hard for me, but I guess that is personal preference. The owners were incredibly helpful and responsive to any questions we had, I have to thank them again for letting us stay in their home, I hope we can do it again!
My family and I had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at this beautiful cottage in the scenic Adirondacks. The place is immaculate and very well equipped. Located just a short walk from the boat launch, beach area and hiking trails. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing (although we didn't get any bites) hiking and toasting marshmallows by the fire pit. I will definitely recommend it to my friends. We plan to be back again in the near future. Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with us.
This was our first adventure out to Wells, NY as a family of 3 and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The house was exactly as advertised... warm, cozy and beautiful. We went late March which isn't a "busy" time in the Adirondacks but was perfect for us. We were even able to enjoy the screened in porch area a few days! Absolutely book this vacation home if you're looking for a little R&R!! Can't wait to come back!
It's a very nice and beautiful cabin. Very easy and great host. Nothing to complain about. We had a great time and will definitely come back again.
We rented this cabin because it is centrally located within 30 minutes or less to Gore Mountain, Oak Mountain, Garnet Lake and Lapland Lake X-C skiing. The grocery stores are within 20 minutes in either direction. The cabin suited our family of 4 quite well. My first impression was that everything looked brand new and well maintained. We liked the Adirondack decor, fully supplied kitchen, cleanliness (I'm very picky), and proximity of the (frozen) lake right across the street for more X-C skiing. We all looked forward to a fire in the wood stove at the end of our ski day and played many of the board games that were available. All we had to bring was food, clothes and gear. Everything else was provided. We would have preferred softer beds upstairs, even a memory foam overlay would have been an improvement. A couple medium sized pots in the kitchen would also be nice. Overall, we would definitely rent this cabin again!
Stayed here with some good friends over President's Day weekend for our annual snowshoe trip into our camp at Perkins Clearing. We've bounced around between winter rentals primarily in Speculator but I think we've finally found the perfect place to stay going foward.
Great space for two couples or small family; cozy, well appointed and decorated first floor kitchen/living space. Gas fireplace was a great bonus to have when relaxing at night or while having morning coffee. Bedrooms are the perfect size for short or long term stays with ample storage space and comfortable beds. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked with linens, toiletries; washer/dryer are a plus.
We treated ourselves and ate out each meal but being a natural cook, I did check out the kitchen supplies for future stays, no need to bring anything here. Plenty of books, guides, movies, nice TV(we decided to not turn on once!), and great wireless connection. There appear to be plenty of other winter/summer toys and gear for travelers that we didn't use.
Overall, this place met and exceeded all expecatations and would be our go to rental over all other homes that we have stayed in in the greater Soeculator area. Thanks for sharing your beauitful home!
