Welcome to Whispering Pines Wells with its own private association beach that is just a three minute walk away.
This is a four season getaway retreat that was outfitted and furnished with the vacationer in mind. The first floor has a fully equipped modern kitchen and dining area, a living room with flat screen tv and a freestanding gas fireplace, a bedroom with a new Queen size bed and a bathroom with a tub and a shower, as well as a washer and dryer.
The upper level has a loft area with a twin bed and a desk, and a master bedroom that features a queen size bed. There is also a half bath.
A large front deck and a screen porch adds outdoor living space in the warmer months & has a porch glider, adirondack chairs and a patio table.
There is a fire pit for your evening enjoyment. A gas grill is also available for you to use.
Why drive for hours when a great vacation is so close? Whispering Pines Wells is a short drive from most anywhere.
In the winter months, it is only 20 minutes to Lapland Lakes cross-country skiing and 40 minutes to Gore Mountain. In the summer and fall, there are many hikes in the area to waterfalls, mountain tops and the Northville-Lake Placid Trail. A great bike ride is the 3.5 mile loop around the lake and through the town. In the spring, you can go fishing in the lake or one of many nearby rivers.
Inside Whispering Pines you will find wifi, cable, a blu-ray player with Netflix and Pandora, books, games and puzzles and an iPod speaker. There is a fully outfitted kitchen with a k-cup coffee maker, crock pot and a blender. Outside there is a large flat yard, hammock and chairs, two kayaks, a 15' canoe and a Sunfish sailboat, with all the accessories. There are carts for transporting the watercraft the short two minute trip to the launching area.
We enjoy the Southern Adirondacks and have been vacationing in this area since we were children. For a long time, it has been a dream of ours to own a home on a lake and in the mountains. Our hope is to share our good fortune with families like you, who want to enjoy the fun and excitement of Lake Algonquin and all the magic that this region offers, but then want to retreat to the whispering pines, to reflect on the day, and dream about tomorrow.
Let us be your hosts for your next vacation.
We are repeat visitors to Whispering Pines. That in itself should speak volumes. We typically rent homes through HomeAway/VRBO whenever we travel, which is at least 4 times a year, so we've seen some great places, and we've seen some bad ones. This is one of our favorites, and has become an annual winter getaway. We leave the kids and pretty much lock ourselves in, decompress, and simply enjoy being there. The kitchen has anything you would need within reason, the living space is comfy/cozy, the bathroom is clean and nice...coming from someone who is moderately OCD about cleanliness, that means something! To us, the laundry is a bonus, as many rentals don't offer that amenity. There's games, TV/Netflix, a quaint little town, with several others nearby for the casual wandering shopper...I would recommend an afternoon in Northville. While we tend to stay out of the woods while we're there (hunting season), we do enjoy walks around the lake, and I know there are plenty of trails nearby. Simply driving down the winding roads alongside the river is beautiful in it's own right. There's an energy about the Adirondacks, and the Whispering Pines captures that, and invites you in to enjoy it, to be a part of it. It's a nice, peaceful place. As well, all of my interactions with Paul and Monica have been quite pleasant. They are responsive and friendly, but not the slightest bit intrusive. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending others stay here. Enjoy!
Our family of 5 (a 4, 2, and 7 mo old) spent a great weekend here. The house was clean and fully stocked. Our kids had so much fun outside hiking and making s'mores by the fire pit. The pot belly stove was so cozy that we had two movie nights during our stay.
Wow...such an amazing place!! Beautiful and well appointed. It was perfect and very relaxing.
Moment we stepped in this beautiful house we were simply mesmerized and amazed. Pictures of the house just don't do justice to Whispering Pines. It is so much amazing than it look in picture.
As everyone else have called out house is filled with supplies.
My family and our friend had a fabulous time, i look forward to visit back in summer to make use of activities we missed out on like kayaking and fishing.
Beautiful location and beautiful house!!!
We just spent a week here and couldn't be happier! The house looks brand new, very well appointed, and watercraft is supplied! 4 kayaks, a canoe, a sunfish, even fishing gear is provided! There is also a cute private sandy beach within walking distance that has a designated rope in the water to protect swimmers from the boaters. The view of the mountains from here is amazing too! Our week started out cold and cloudy, but we made the best out of it by taking hikes, garnet mining, going to the stone bridge, and going to lake George, which was about an hour away. We grilled and built fires in the fire pit just about every night, people are selling plenty of firewood everywhere, and the general store about 5 minutes away has just about everything you need. My only complaint is that the beds were too hard for me, but I guess that is personal preference. The owners were incredibly helpful and responsive to any questions we had, I have to thank them again for letting us stay in their home, I hope we can do it again!
My family and I had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at this beautiful cottage in the scenic Adirondacks. The place is immaculate and very well equipped. Located just a short walk from the boat launch, beach area and hiking trails. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing (although we didn't get any bites) hiking and toasting marshmallows by the fire pit. I will definitely recommend it to my friends. We plan to be back again in the near future. Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with us.
