Historic Old Town House Rental Photos and Description

Luxury 2 Bedroom House (Sleeps 4): Right On Water - 180 Degree Views!

River's Edge is truly magnificent. It sits right on the water’s edge by a beach and feels like floating over the Lake - totally romantic and breath taking. The views are literally million dollar views – River’s Edge is unique in Niagara-on-the-Lake in having complete 180 degree views from the Niagara river and Fort Niagara to the U.S. on the right to Lake Ontario and even Toronto in the far distance. And with a beach at our side gate.

From the front door to every point of this luxury cottage you have a view of the water. You can be in the kitchen making a snack or dinner and you have a view of the lake and river. The main floor of this cottage is all open plan. If you are sitting in front of the electric fireplace or watching television you have a view of the Lake and Niagara River!

Going upstairs the view from the floor to ceiling windows on the stairwell is … simply amazing! The bedroom is spectacular. You can lie in bed and still have this incredible view of the Niagara River and the Old Fort Niagara state-side, and look out to the Lake on the other. There is a whirlpool tub from where you can watch the boats and ducks go by! In River’s Edge you are in a totally different world….. while at the same time we provide free Wi-Fi so that you can stay in touch.

If you invite another couple or bring the kids along, there is the very comfortable Murphy bed in the second bedroom room that faces the very quiet street. This room also has a washer and dryer in it.

Downstairs, the sliding back doors open on to the amazing patio. The top patio is nice and it has patio furniture and BBQ/grill. The lower patio has a small relaxing pool for dipping and relaxing on summer days. Here you can sit and enjoy a glass of local wine and watch the birds and ships drift past…..

River's Edge has 2 bathrooms. There is .5 bathroom on ground floor and a full bathroom with a very large shower upstairs in addition to the en-suite Jacuzzi tub in the main bedroom.

Fully stocked with bed-linen and towels and a well-equipped kitchen for making anything from a snack to an amazing dinner.

This is River's Edge - all you need to bring is food, clothes and yourselves- for an amazing and unforgettable romantic holiday vacation !!!!!!

Perfect spot for location and view

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay. We were 4 women on a girls getaway. The house is exactly as described and pictured. The view is amazing and the house is cozy and well appointed. The home owner was very responsive and accomodating.

We did a few wine tours on our way to the house and enjoyed the short walk to the shops in downtown NOTL. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to heat the meals and snacks we'd brought.

We hope to return!

Wonderful House and Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time and loved the house. What an amazing view from the living room, deck and master bedroom. This was by far the best place we have stayed in our 15 times coming to NOTL. It was tempting just to stay and look at the view from the chairs, pool, or inside. Everything worked well, and having the combination lock made getting in and out particularly easy. Hope to come back again soon. The soaking pool was appreciated since we hit 90 degree weather (in September!). The neighborhood is very quiet. The house is within walking distance of all Old Town shops, theaters and restaurants, and easily accessible to the Niagara Bike Trail. Although this is two-bedrooms, the second bedroom is a Murphy bed, so while fine for families/kids, if there are two couples they may need to realize that the second bedroom is much smaller than the Master, and houses the stacked washer dryer. Not a problem for us. We found the owners to be very responsive, both before and after our stay. This is a great find for NOTL.

Not a better place to stay in NOTL!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from spending four nights at River's Edge. The house was very nice and the water views were incredible! We sat for hours on the deck, both upper and lower and enjoyed the amazing views. It was very hot and humid and having the little soaking pool was a huge bonus. The location is perfect for walking downtown, a short ten minute walk at most. We will definitely be going back and will recommend it to our family and friends. The property manager, Anna was awesome to deal with, always very helpful and quick to answer our questions. Sue, another manager, sent us the information we needed to get into the house exactly when we were told she would. We could not have asked for better customer service! Thanks for an unforgettable holiday and can't wait to go back!

River Edge

  • 5 of 5

Although I am certain this location would be far superior in the spring/summer, we vacationed for 3 nights in the tail end of winter. The house is well kept and has a lovely kitchen, walk in shower, spare foldout bed and an amazing view from the master beddroom, with a jacuzzi in the bedroom. Very private access to an outdoor trail. Very relaxing and peacefull. Highly recommend, especially before the busy season hits Niagara on the Lake.

A Winter Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just returned from spending a weekend at the River’s Edge. It is an absolutely charming place located right on the water with an amazing view from anywhere in the cottage! Although the temperatures were below zero outside, the warmth and coziness of River’s Edge was evident from the moment we arrived. We especially enjoyed the two fireplaces, upstairs and downstairs. We found River’s Edge to be very extremely well taken care of and clean from top to bottom. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies for cooking, the accommodations were comfortable, books and movies within an arms' and the decor’ very nicely done. River’s Edge was very centrally located to everything that Niagara on The Lake could offer, making it easy to come and go throughout the day. The owner was extremely nice to work with and responded very promptly to all questions. The manager was also very responsive to our questions. It was a wonderful place to stay and we only wished we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful cottage, setting, and town.

  • 5 of 5

We used the cottage for a weekend business retreat in the Fall. The setting was beautiful, inspirational and relaxing. Right on the mouth of the Niagara River with a view of an American Fort on the opposite side, giving us a real feel for the history of the site. The interior of the cottage is very unique, well appointed and comfortable. We wished that it was summer so that we could have enjoyed the small pool on the lower deck, overlooking the river.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a unique town and obviously loved by many. The architecture is fantastic. So much variety everywhere and no big box stores anywhere to be found. But, plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy. We didn't want to leave!!
