'MOOSE TRACKS' is a beautiful mountain house bordering Gallatin National Forest & overlooking Lions Head Peak along the Continental Divide. This is a restful spot & could be your next Rocky Mountain vacation adventure!

A large family room has windows on three sides with tranquil views of mountains (Lions Head Peak) Aspens and Pine trees. Warm yourself by the wood fire (One is pre-made for your arrival. Just light the paper when you arrive) and sit back with your friends & family to relax. Vaulted ceilings & landscape windows overlook the West Yellowstone Valley & the Continental Divide - the Backbone of the Rocky Mountains (see photos of actual view below). There is a great feeling of openness both inside and outside. Two bedrooms & a full baths are on the ground floor with a master bedroom and master bath on the second floor. (floor plans are below in photos). A 'hunter's cabin' is just across the yard for anyone wanting that extra bit of privacy.

This distinctive vacation home is located just 7 miles west of West Yellowstone MT - the gateway to Yellowstone National Park.

To go on about how unbelievably beautiful Yellowstone is would be redundant. You wouldn't be looking here if you didn't already know, but suffice to say, no matter what you want in terms of the out-of-doors, wilderness, tranquility and complete spiritual recharge - it is here. Fishing, hiking (walking) through the woods, or just sitting on the deck...

The house is newly renovated and looking absolutely beautiful.

'I am in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection, but with Montana it is love... It seems to me that Montana is a great splash of grandeur. The scale is huge but not overpowering. The land is rich with grass and color, and the mountains are the kind I would create if mountains were ever put on my agenda. It seems to me that the frantic bustle of America was not in Montana.'

Great family vacation home!!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful location;wonderful home! Plenty of space for our son and daughter-in-law, daughter and son-in-law, three young grandchildren and us. We enjoyed time together and had all the amenities we needed. Home is clean and owner is responsive to special needs. We'd like to go back again!

very comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We were 4 couples and a dog from 4 states. The property was perfect for our needs. We would rent again. Be aware, the cabin has only 1 usable (grounded) outlet which is in the bathroom. It would be nice to have a mini fridge in the cabin. Use bottled water, everyone got a touch of "Montezuma's revenge", but that's not uncommon when coming from different states. We should have known better. The sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous over the mountain.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback on the cabin. It is an older hunter's cabin from the '50's so will not have all the amenities of a modern house, though the main house does. As for the water, we have a well right under the continental divide of the Rocky Mountains, our water is way bettter than some bottled stuff of out of some industrial tap in... wherever. I am very sorry folks got sick, I am I certainly not denigrating that, but it was not from our well. If our well was causing problems the 300+ guest we have had over the past several years would have mentioned it.

Had a good time..

  • 3 of 5

Good mountain view from the living room. House was neat and big enough for 8 people max. 10 to 15 mins drive to West Gate. Outside barbeque was well arranged. It's not so green as shown in the picture. Internet was not working, raised a complaint but no response. Had a tough time reaching out to the owner or manager, please response to the call or msg. Overall had a great time in Yellowstone.

Wonderful base for experiencing Yellowstone.!

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay in Moose Tracks. Comfortable, well equipped house, very convenient to West Yellowstone entrance. Two minor suggestions for improvements: better firewood supply and more than the most basic cable TV (no ESPN!?). Otherwise, highly recommended spot for enjoying Yellowstone.

Very Clean and as described.

  • 4 of 5

Great location that is close to Yellowstone. House was very comfortable and clean for our party of 7! The only down side was there was no split wood and no way to split the whole logs that were at the house.
