The one bedroom apartment is part of a family owned vacation villa located on Playa Santa overlooking the bay and town of Ensenada. The living room and kitchen of the apartment open up to a big terrace with tropical vegetation and impressive view over the Caribbean Sea. The patio has hammocks, garden chairs and a BBQ available to make your stay a true outdoor tropical experience. The famous beach Playa Santa is only foot steps below the property. Inside the apartment offers a dining table and equipped kitchen, air conditioning in the bedroom, one bathroom with shower, cable television and DVD. Two full size beds in the bed room and one full size futon in the living room are available to sleep comfortable up to four person.
Enjoyed our stay here at Playa Santa. Edna was easy to deal with and the apartment is well laid out for basic accommodations. The terrace is wonderful and the location is great. Walk to the beach in 5 minutes. Playa Santa in January was perfect weather and very quiet. Plan to drive 20 minutes or so to restaurants during off season as things shut down here early, although we were told summer gets very busy in this area. This is a great base for exploring the coast. We did day trips to Playa Soucia, Boqueron, Gilligan's Island (yes that's it's nickname) and Parquera comfortably. Overall a very nice experience.
This little apartment was the perfect place for a week's long vacation. The patio was our place for morning coffee, meals and nightcaps. There was music filtering across the bay nearly every night of our stay. The Playa Santa beach is a short walk away and one which we did several times a day to go swimming, get lunch at Ancla Flotante or dinner at the little restaurant around the corner from Ancla Flotante.
Edna provided us with a list of places to visit. La Jungla was amazing and an enjoyable walk from the apartment. Warm water, clean, beautiful and the views were breathtaking. We used the list to go to Playa Mangillo, San German and Faro Los Morellos de Cabo Rojo as well. If you go to Faro Los Morellos de Cabo Rojo take a bathing suit … the beach is beautiful, you'll regret not having a suit, as we did!
We swam at Playa Santa everyday, the beach was perfect for us. Our last afternoon we rented kayaks from Pino, met his family and purchased coconut candy from his brother. They are wonderful people.
We hope to come back and highly recommend this little apartment. Thank you Edna for sharing your piece of paradise with us.
The place was very clean, safe location, quiet neighborhood. The was some kind of party resort down the road that was playing music from 10am to 2am and the music carried over the water right to us, which we didn't like. Also the apartment itself could use screens onthe windows in the living room, some fans and an updated ceiling fan. The bathroom ceiling leaks when it rains. We loved the terrace, few steps to the beach and being right on the water.
This apartment was equipped with everything you need, and the beach Palya Santa is just a few minutes walk away. The View is incredible. Sit on the terrace with breakfast, your coffee, and Listen to the birds chirping. The waves crashing. Enjoy the community walk the area, and You'll find a Macaw Parrot at a house that says Hola when you walk by. We will definitely come back to visit again.
Great food go to Boqueron Galloways Restaurant. It's right on the water, and Ask for David. Awesome Waiter. Tell him Jackie sent you. Don't forget to visit the Malecon in Guanica or In Ensenada on the weekend Music, Food, and The People.
If your daring, Drive to Playa Sucia. It's the most Beautiful Beach you'll ever see. It's by the Light House.
Our small family of 4 stayed for a long weekend at this cute rental which offered all we wanted - quiet terrace with wonderful view over the bay of Playa Santa, a hammock to relax, a BBQ and just a few steps to the beach. Would recommend it to anyone who loves to travel low budget and like to get away from it all...
Edna and Vida Urbana were perfect host, helpful and open to frequent communication. The best thing about the apartment is the relatively private patio. We slept out there several nights with the soothing sounds of waves, a wonderful breeze that kept the bugs away until the morning and the Thursday through Sunday sounds of a salsa party.
The apartment had all we have come to expect for vacationing with Homeaway. Cooking supplies, utensils, towels, sheets, ice trays, coffee maker and toaster to name a few. No washer or dryer.
This apartment was the perfect launch point for exploring the SW portion of Puerto Rico. 30 minutes to Cabo Rojo and about the same to Ponce. 15 minutes to Ballena and Gilligan Island take off spots. For finer dining we could drive five minutes up the road to the resort and winery. Lots of small empanada spots are everywhere. Funny thing, we stayed a week and never went to Santa Playa beach. It is a nice beach, but we had exploring to do.
The apartment itself can sleep 6 comfortably. The ceiling kept us from needing to run air condition.
I wish I could tell you about our trip. Guanica was more than we expected and would happily visit again and again, while staying in this apartment.
Guanica is one of the best relaxing areas in Puerto Rico. It´s dryer air makes everything feel more lay back. This small village of Playa Santa area has one of the best beaches in Puerto Rico and is a very quiet one, perfect for the hole family. The area is pretty much secluded and you will need to shop for food on Guanica Town before going to the house. We do recommend to stop in the fruit stand along the 116 road on the way to Guanica. Around the beach (walking distance from the house) you do have a few restaurants to have lunch or dinner. Also 30 minutes away in the next town, Yauco, you have a shopping center with many shops (if you are coming from Ponce, is a good place to stop for food as well). 20 minutes away you have the next village that is ¨La Parguera¨ where you can take tours to the bio-luminescent lagoon and also have restaurants that serves great fresh sea food. On of the best attractions on the area is the Federal Natural Reserve of ¨Bosque Seco de Guanica¨ (guanicas´ dry forest) Don´t miss it and bring lots of water. Behind the forest, there is another secluded beach that it can only be accessed by boat and it is in the San Jacinto Area and the place is called ´Guilligans Island´ Is worth to spend half a day there relaxing in the sun.
