Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Nicky,

Mark mentioned that you emailed, but he has yet to get a chance to email you back. We thoroughly

enjoyed our stay. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The fact that you have everything available for

our use (dishes, towels, CD player, fire starters, etc) made the stay even better. Honestly, we have

been talking so highly about it ever since we have returned. We would LOVE to come again with a

couple friends. The pictures we took have sparked a lot of interest from both our families, and we

know it is booked through the summer, but we are planning on staying again. I hope we left it in decent

shape. We had to rush off Friday morning.

Sorry I can't be helpful with suggestions to make it better, because it really was wonderful. All that we

hoped for and more!

I hope to stay again in the future!

Have a great day.

An amazing find

  • 5 of 5

What a place!

The Bubble is a beautiful, cozy chalet overlooking the aptly named Loch Awe, just what we were looking for! A perfect mix of basic/rustic and fancy (the fanciest oven we have ever used!)

TVs in every room (though we didn't even have them on) WiFi and good 4G signal throughout, great eclectic cd collection for even the snobbiest of musical snobs and a good sound system ready to go to play them on - with an aux cable sticking out for your own devices (this kind of stuff is very important!)

If you want to switch all that off and get away from it all though, this place is perfect,

fun/scary twisty 14 mile single track to get to Dalavich but well worth it, the surrounding area is breathtaking with forests, castles and proper mountains - go a few miles up the road to the next few glens and every direction you look is a stunning landscape view, really good for the soul - we even spotted a golden eagle perched proudly on a sign by the side of the road and soon after, another one taking off from the empty road ahead of us on the drive home - they were amazing to see!

We had a magical few days up at The Bubble and we will definitely be back again soon, thanks Nicky!

Owner's Response: Castles, Golden eagles, black panthers wandering through thin quiet village streets in the wee hours and half naked natives burning effigies of fire gods in deserted mountain lochs ...what's not to like :)

A Place to Unwind

  • 5 of 5

A very compact ,cozy and comfortable chalet. Surrounded by magnificent scenery and if you love fishing - you are in heaven. Oban the nearest town is about 20 miles away and is also a great place in terms of food and destinations to visit. The music selection on cd is one of the most wide ranging from Beethoven to ELO.

At night ,light the log fire and chill out.

Lovely , homely, little chalet

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the bubble. Nicky was easy to get in touch with when needed and more than helpful. We felt totally at home with our 2 dogs , lovely walks for them, fishing for us.... only caught 1.... Everything we needed was there including comfy clean beds and a nice hot shower. Weather was a bit wet but this didn't spoil our stay.

Only thing we would change is moving the chalet nearer the loch so we could cast off from balcony😀? oh and maybe making the road wider on the drive in, but according to the locals , they like it that way, keeps people out, I see their point! That's why its unspoilt.

However, we would definitely consider going back.

a different experience

  • 4 of 5

The house is located far away from the closest town. It takes courage to drive through the twisty paths in the forest. But once you get there, you are completely blocked from the outside world, you can leave your worries behind and just immerse in nature. I enjoyed very much the stay in the Bubble. The kitchen is sufficient, the ceramic hob is not great but the oven is quite effective. There is a slow cooker too, which is nice. The rooms are cozy. There're plenty of books, board games and DVDs to choose from. Interesting selection of music CDs were provided. The only thing I'd say, which did not impress me was the smell of the cushions: they smell pretty awful, like they are very very old and never been washed. I suggest the owner to replace them with new ones at some point.

People in unfamiliar environments break and damage things like dinner plates and kitchen countertops, as such i try and persuade my guests to take my accidental damage insurance costing £14 , this is a less hassle and much better option than asking for £hundreds in security deposits.
