About Wil

It was always our dream to live on the shores of Lake Michigan after we spend the last 10 years sailing on a lake in Wisconsin. Frankfort offers everything we like, i.e. farmer's markets, sustainable living, biking, paddling, and skiing (opportunities to be active outdoors all year around) as well as cultural events in and around town. Growing up close to Frankfurt, Germany, I always wanted to visit Frankfort, Michigan.

Wil purchased this bungalow in 2011

Why Wil chose Northern Michigan

For the last twenty years we have spent our summer vacations on Lake Michigan. This year we visited Frankfort for the first time and fell in love with the city and area. We know that we have found the perfect location and we can imagine spending the rest of our lives in this area.

What makes this bungalow unique

Tucked away in a quiet location and still in the middle of it all. Forget the car and walk to the beach, harbor, stores, shops and restaurants or take a bike ride along the beautiful Betsie Valley Bike Trail. The large fenced-in your will be the perfect playground for our future grandchildren. We also enjoy hiking along Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore or canoeing on the Platte River, both only 15 minutes away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you Wil and Beth for being gracious hosts and so welcoming.

The cottage was clean and just as we expected. We really enjoyed the large yard and picnic benches.

Sweet cottage close to town and harbor

  • 4 of 5

This cottage shares a double lot with two others. There are grills and picnic tables, a lawn to run around for a game of tag, and plenty of breezes from Windows on each side of it. It's cozy but well-appointed. Morning sun in the front room, and a cool shady bedroom.

Both the Beach House and the Bay House were lovely in every way.

  • 5 of 5

Our hosts were extremely accommodating and the cottages we stayed in were clean and affordable. The location is ideal because you are only a couple blocks from Lake Betsie as well as Lake Michigan.

Lovely home

  • 4 of 5

Home is nice and clean, short walk to town and beach. Wish it had cable or satellite TV, but minor inconvenience really. The location is what sold me, and I was not disappointed. Frankfort is a lovely town, and the people are wonderful!!

Cute Little Cabin

  • 4 of 5

This is a cute little cabin/cottage in Frankfort. My husband and I and our two small children stayed here quite comfortably. It's only two blocks from the playground and the downtown area and a short drive to the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Charming and perfect location!

  • 4 of 5

Nice place to stay. Perfect location!

There was no AC and the wi-fi was iffy but the owner helped by rebooting.

It was clean and charming. I would say the futon could only sleep one.

I would recommend this place for anyone visiting Frankfort Mi.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure meeting you. Thanks for your positive review. In the meantime we exchanged a faulty wireless router. Usually the AC is not needed because there is a nice breeze from the Lake and we have a more energy efficient ceiling fan and additional room fans to keep the home cool on hot summer days. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you next year.
