Absolutely fantastic pet friendly cottage right on the beach! Experience the ocean as never before in this 4 bedroom, 3 bath home away from home. Very comfortable interior with spiral staircase between the 2 levels. Nicely appointed kitchen with very large bar/dining area perfect for an oyster feast! Enjoy the sound of the surf at night on one of the finest beaches on the the NC coast! Step off the deck almost directly onto the beach, catch the next best wave, throw in a line for the freshest seafood or give yourself the tan of a lifetime. You've never experienced the beach quite like this. Reward yourself with the vacation of a lifetime.
Wonderful new 16 mile walking and biking path in Emerald Isle.
We spent three delightful days here in this charming ocean front cottage. The property was clean and well maintained, the customer service was excellent, I would recommend it to a friend or relative, and we would happily return.
The house is exactly as pictured, although it seems smaller when you get there. Could be the old fish-eye lens trick, but it's not bad and is not really an issue. Overall, a very nice and updated beach house. Nice views of the ocean and it has everything you would need for a trip to the beach! There is a separate entrance for the bottom floor which could be handy if two different families were staying at the house or if you have people that keep a different schedule than everyone else. The one issue we had was that the downstairs was very damp and cold feeling. There was also some mold in the room with the bunkbeds. That being said, we rented this house during a very rainy part of December so that may be the reason. We also contacted owner who was very responsive and said she would get the dampness addressed.
There is one BR upstairs, but the rest are downstairs. If you have very small children or you are used to sleeping on the same floor as your kids, this may be a problem for you. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the house.
This is the perfect beach cottage in every way. It was clean and sparkling when we arrived, everything worked, and we had no problems. The owners represented the cottage perfectly in their description.
I was at first concerned because it is pet friendly and thought it might have a pet odor, but we could not tell in any way there had been pets—no odor, no pet hair.
This home is tastefully decorated in a beach theme, and the entire home is bright and airy. If you are a couple going on vacation alone, it is perfect because everything you need is on one floor. If you are a family, the children can stay downstairs and have their own living area and TV. The kitchen is well-stocked with needed utensils, pots, and serving dishes.
The deck is partially covered and partially sun and stars. And, most important, the house is literally right on the beach. My husband surf fishes and it was easy to watch him fish and call him in for meals. By the way, he caught lots of fish right in front of the cottage.
The management and owners have made this cottage a special getaway place. You will not want for anything during your stay, and should you have any questions or issues while you are staying in this home, the management is a phone call away.
We stayed at the cottage one week in September, 2013, and returned for another week at Thanksgiving. We enjoyed the sandwiches and salads at the Village Deli, an excellent crab boil at The Crab’s Claw, a breakfast buffet at Mike’s Place on Sunday, meals at Clawson’s 1905, and meals at Amos Mosquitos. These are all excellent places to eat. We purchased very fresh seafood from Willis’ Seafood in Salter Path. My husband rented a kayak, took lessons, and went fishing on the White Oak River nearby. The neighborhood streets are perfect for runners. If you are a photographer, the sunsets are beautiful from the deck.
My husband has been coming to this beach for vacation for his entire life and states that this is the best place he has ever stayed. This home is one of the older brick homes on the island, but the remodeling and redecoration of the home makes it seem as if you are in a new modern home. This home offers a great location, fabulous interior decorating, cleanliness, great management and many activities. I can highly recommend this cottage.
Great location with fantastic seafood, great shopping, theatre, NC Aquarium and 18 hole championship golf nearby!
