About the property

Stately vintage Tudor rises above the rest in Travis Heights minutes from the shops, restaurants, and bars of South Congress and downtown. Beautiful 2-story rests on a 1/3 acre lot with a fenced yard, gravel patio and pool. Amazing renovated interiors with living areas on both floors! Gorgeous kitchen with expanded cabinets, marble countertops and center island. Walk along Stacy Park to the hike and bike trail at Lady Bird Lake or over to the Whip In for dinner or drinks. The music scene is a 5 minute car ride downtown, check out our favorite music venue Mohawk. This is truly the house for a 'local' experience! This is not a party house. Thanksgiving stay @ this Austin, Texas property

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time and the property was perfect for our Family, plenty of room, nice yard, close to everything.

Only two things kept this property from a Five Star Rating: No top sheets on ANY of the beds and could not get network channels on the TV!

House review

  • 3 of 5

The house was roomy and good for our family. For the very high price which was a lot higher than advertised on the site the amenities were very sparse. There were no hangars in the closets, the kitchen was very sparsely furnished- not a can opener that worked- and there was a strong small of sewage in the basement area. Also no cable tv and only two tvs in the house

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback! I'm not sure how HomeAway determines the average price. We offer discounts for stays of a week or more and maybe they are averaging that in? Home owners set the prices, but have no control over the price HomeAway advertises. We didn't know the can opener wasn't working and have replaced it. And we have moved hangers into the closet that was lacking them. A plumber has taken care of the odor by resetting the toilet. Always glad to improve the property!

Great spot for a weekend get away

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this house, it's extremely spacious, we all had ample choice of bedrooms and everything was neat and tidy when we arrived.

It was slightly unfortunate that we came in fall and the tree's above the pool, which I'm sure provide lovely shade in the summer, had all started to lose their leaves leaving the pool in a slightly bad state upon arrival. We raised this with Courtney who promptly arranged for a pool crew to come the following day. Can't ask for better customer service than that!

Would definitely stay again!

Great for a re-treat

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for a professional retreat. The number of rooms allowed everyone to have their room. The gathering area with the couches and chairs was perfect. We had tons of space with the dining room table. The kitchen was awesome, and the pool was a great place to have a break. Courtney was great. We needed a hand mixer, and when we asked if the house had one, she had Amazon Prime deliver one 2 hours later! Excellent service.

Fantastic!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is a true gem! TONS of space so you don't feel like you are on top of each other.

Communication with the owners was very easy the entire time. A perfect place for multiple families vacationing together. We were in town for a family wedding. Everything was super close and there is a TON to do that is extremely close to this home. The pool is great! The pictures don't do it justice....it's bigger than what it seems. I especially liked that the pool is completely fenced and has a code to get it. Perfect for feeling safe with young kids around. We had another family who also wanted to be close to us and ended up staying right next door at a different VRBO that is a duplex. Perfect for all wanting to be near each other but have space. Everything is in excellent condition in the house including a very updated kitchen. If we ever end up back in Austin we will be sure to book this again!

Great week

  • 5 of 5

The house in Austin was perfect for my family. Lots of room for the adults to have some quite time and lots of room to play with the kids. The location was great for going to parks and other child friendly events and HEB was very close.

Thank you for a great stay.
