Gorgeous self-catering cottage with two bedrooms, bathroom and downstairs toi
Welcome to our cottage! This is very much a home-from-home self-catering experience as we spend most of the time ourselves in Rye. Set within a quiet cul-de-sac, our home is a few yards walk of a fabulous curry house, grocery store, butchers, wine merchant and local restaurants and pubs. The cobbled streets of Rye are less than one minute walk and a ten minute drive to the sandy beaches of Camber Sands.
Having two parking bays within the grounds, you don't have the worry of finding a space. We also have a lovely sheltered paved garden with a table, four chairs, two sun loungers and summer house with a lovely sofa bed. This becomes a sun trap in the summer months and is perfect for alfresco dining.
Downstairs is open plan with dining area and seating for four along with a kitchen offering great facilities for self-catering. A lovely wooden dresser has a collection of Emma Bridgewater china and in the cupboards below are some fantastic games to entertain everyone. There are two comfy double sofas to relax on and a small armchair. We provide a TV/DVD player and a library of DVD films to watch. From the the entrance hall is a downstairs toilet which has a washer dryer and drinks fridge. Wifi is also provided.
Upstairs is our main double bedroom which has two large chest of drawers, bedside lamps, a mirrored wardrobe, lovely dressing table with hair dryer, DAB radio and television. In our second bedroom, there are bunk beds each with reading lights (single sized and comfortable for adults), a chest of drawers, coat stand, bookcase with children DVDs and books.
All bedlinen is 100% cotton and feather pillows provided.
In the upstairs bathroom we have a full sized bath, separate shower, WC, full length mirror and shaving socket. Bath towels and beach towels are also provided in the summer months.
Rye has wonderful Festivals throughout the year you can attend the following:
Rye Bay Scallop in February
Rye Jazz in May onwards
Festival of the Sea in July
Rye Arts in September
Wild Boar in October
Rye Bonfire Parade in November
Christmas Parade in December
We look forward to welcoming you to our home in Rye

About Elaine Tyner
We are a family of four and have owned Cinque Ports House for eleven years now and love spending as much time as possible in Rye. There is always so much to see and do, at all times of the year and we absolutely love it. When we are not in Rye, we would like to welcome you to our home. It is our home and therefore has lots of our personal things which we are happy to share with you.
Elaine Tyner purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Elaine Tyner chose Rye
A real 'home-from-home'. Our cottage is set off the streets of Rye in a quiet cul-de-sac surrounded by trees and private parking. You need only walk to the end of our driveway and you are in the middle of Rye town with fabulous restaurants, wine bars, grocery store and antique shops.
What makes this Cottage unique
It offers two parking spots right outside our cottage and a wonderful secluded private garden across the courtyard.

Very prettily decorated and absolutely everything needed to make life easy was available.
Better than we could expect. Lots to do and see in Rye and surrounding area. Enjoyed the history of Hastings and Battle equally as much as the beach of Camber Sands. Winchelsea is the most beautiful town and well worth a visit. Recommend a visit to St.Thomas the Martryr Church, and certainly recommend a Cream Tea at the local hotel opposite the church.
Fab cottage in delightful Rye
We had a fantastic few days in sunny Rye. Elaine's cottage is beautiful, cosy, superbly equipped and clearly much-loved. Its central location couldn't be better - the private courtyard setting (which has the added bonus of two parking spaces) is very peaceful and yet only steps from central Rye. It also has a secluded fenced garden across the courtyard which has a summerhouse, table and chairs and sunbeds and is a veritable suntrap.
Elaine was very approachable and prompt to respond and kept us well-informed throughout the process. She also provided a welcome basket of goodies which was much appreciated.
Rye is lovely with many historic and interesting streets and buildings. It is well worth picking up a self-guided walking tour leaflet in order to explore and discover more about the history of this compact town.
There are numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs - we had a fantastic seafood meal at Webbe's at The Fish Cafe, which is only a few minutes' walk from the cottage. If you like Indian food, the Mahdi Spice restaurant is even closer, about 30 seconds away! The ancient Ypres Castle Inn (beneath the castle ramparts) has lots of character and a lovely beer garden.
We highly recommend Elaine's cottage and look forward to returning.
Lovely cosy house
Plenty of room for family of four with 2 comfy sofas to curl up on... Home from home, and everything you need right there. The little garden across the courtyard was also really well-equipped and peaceful.
Lovely house in great central location in Rye with parking
Very clean and nicely styled with a fun twist. Well appointed warm cottage with everything we needed for a family of 4. Cottage is set back in a quiet dead-end road. Would stay there again when in Rye.
Many thanks for your review
Home away from home
A stunning property with all the things you could want and more. Amazing location within easy walk to shops, pubs, attractions, parking and groceries! Rye is a gorgeous town. Very friendly and day trips abound! Camber Sands, Hastings etc.
Thank you Elaine for a lovely stay!
I am thrilled you had a wonderful time and loved Rye. Safe journey back to Canada and hope to see you all again soon. Elaine
Charming cottage full of character!
I visited with friends to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time in the cottage. It’s situated in the heart of Rye so within walking distance of all the best restaurants, pubs and shops. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated with a lovely seaside theme throughout. Rye is one of my favourite places to visit and staying here rounded off the weekend perfectly. We’ll definitely be returning!
Thanks Emily for your lovely review. See you soon
Rye is the most wonderful medieval town full of cobbled streets and interesting historical places to visit. It has the added benefit of being close to the award winning Camber Sands with its clear waters and miles of sandy beaches and dunes. If you fancy trying out any water sports you can do kitesurfing, windsurfing and sailing at Rye Watersports which is nearby.
Rye itself is full of fantastic restaurants, pubs, cafes and tea shops. You can visit art galleries, museums, stroll around antique shops and second hand book shops.
A few miles down the road is Rye Harbour Nature Reserve with a mosaic of habitats beside the sea with shingle, salt marsh, sand dunes, rivers, pits, grazing, reed beds and farmlands full of wildlife for you to discover either walking or by bike. It is also famous for its birdwatching.
