'Call for winter specials' 3300 Sq. Ft. Log home across from Moolack beach. Perfect for beachcombing, biking, kite flying and beautiful logging trails for hikes. All bedrooms face the ocean. Large game room with billiard table, ping pong, and casino card game bar. Master bath has a jacuzzi . The home features Satellite HD TV and wi-fi. Call owner for monthly specials.

Our home is located on two wooded acres in a bucolic setting with champagne taste. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the ocean with no houses in front of you to ruin the beautiful sunsets and ocean view. Moolack beach is located down our short driveway and across the road. Beverly Beach State Park is located less than a mile north. All bedrooms are located on the main floor and face the ocean with french doors leading to the deck. A large game room located downstairs has a billiard table, ping pong, dart board, and hand carved giant chess and checker set. A bar has a switchable tabletop displaying casino and board games. The home is new with a well equipped kitchen for that Thanksgiving Dinner. If you require special TV programing please advise owner and they will subscribe to the specials for your stay. Stay six nights and get the 7th night free.

Why Karen Orduno chose Coastal Oregon

As a child my family would travel up the Oregon and Washington coast to visit relatives. But nothing was so spectacular as the Oregon coast. It can be calm and beautiful, or it can be as violent as a witches caldron. Then there is that day you go fishing and catch your limit of beautiful king salmon and the next day is a low tide and you can dig for clams. At night you wait for that special tide and throw out your nets and bring home some crab for dinner; What special memories!. So we decided to build our dream home in the center of the most beautiful coastline in Oregon.

Beautiful and Relaxing Vacation Home

We stayed at Blackberry Hills for a family vacation this summer. The home is large and beautiful and the photos do it justice. The bedrooms are well appointed and the family has provided extra blankets throughout the house. We also appreciated the excellent instructions posted everywhere about the quirks of the house (hot water to the dishwasher, the heating system and fireplace, etc.)

This home is large and accommodated our large group well. We brought an air mattress with us for the children to sleep on and between the upstairs and downstairs we never felt crowded. There are also four bathrooms in this home, all with showers and two with tubs, which made sharing the home with our extended family very comfortable.

A washer and dryer is provided in the home, we brought a small box of Tide so we could do our laundry throughout the week.

We walked with the children to the beach everyday, grilled pancakes in the mornings, BBQ'd hamburgers one night, roasted weenies and marshmallows in the fire pit outback one evening. We had a great time.

We did have an issue with the internet when we first arrived, but we made a quick call to the management company in the morning and they came out right away and took care of it.

We have rented homes before on the coast, and this home more than met our expectations. So much so, that we have already reserved it again for next summer.

INCREDIBLE HOME

We stayed at BLACKBERRY HILL last month. It is a super custom home that we enjoyed totally. I just read that last review and think that person was wrong or an unhappy person or at a different home.

The owner was very nice and the manager helped us with everything we needed. She brought us a new coffee maker PLUS fresh local coffee, candy and cookies, when we called about the coffee maker not working right.

For sure, the house was clean! We left a tip for the house cleaners, we were so impressed.

Lightbulbs - well, I’m not stupid. I changed one, myself. The manager offered to come do it, if I needed.

The kitchen is small but amazing. Best of all it is part of the big open great room, so we could see the ocean, as well as all our family on the deck, in the living area and at the tables.

It is furnished in one-of-a-kind furniture very fitting to this big home.

Our family booked again for next winter so we can watch the ocean, then. After that we will book again for next summer. You should come see for yourself.

Not overly Happy

This was from a email I sent to the management company about our stay.

I was wanting to let you know about our stay at blackberry hill last week. Don’t get me wrong we really did like the house and all the amenities it came with, but we ran in to some issues right off the bat. Here is a list off problems we had or issues that need correcting.

#1- Their was no case of water supplied as stated on the fridge.

#2- BBQ’s in the down stairs garage where excessively dirty upon arrival So we didn’t use them. ( We had a family member a couple days later bring us one to use when they came from Idaho)

#3-There is a 5gl gas can in the garage with about 1gl of gas in it with no CAP on it.

#4- As I walked through the house I noticed the smoke alarms didn’t have any batteries in them by the battery door being left open. ( Not good if their was a power outage and a fire happened to start.) I KNOW IT JUST ONE OF THOSE WHAT IF’S.

#5- About a dozen light bulbs need replaced between the exterior and the interior.

#6- Right sink in the master bathroom was clogged up upon arrival and the hot water doesn’t work in that faucet either.

#7- The railing on the back deck really needs some attention, I had noticed the railing has broken screws in the top rail and some of the balusters. The balusters that have a broken screw could make it a huge issue if a child like my 2 year old ran in to it she could fall through it to the lower level. The top rail screws being broken could allow a adult to bust through it and fall to the lower level.

#8- Dish washer had dirty dishes in it upon arrival. I put soap in it ran it and left them right where we found them. ( We had brought our own thankfully)

#9- “THE FLOORS” This is a hard one, with in the first hour of arrival my 2yr old daughter had been running around in house and her light grey footy jammies the feet on the bottom where black and the top of the toe are was starting to turn black also. When you would get out of the shower in the master if you stepped on the rugs to dry off when you would sit down on the tub wall to put your socks on you would have to peel a layer of fuzz, hair, and dirt particles off your feet. The rugs in their where with out a doubt disgusting. The hair you would get on your feet was too long to be mine and to long to be my wife’s Sooo I could only imagine who’s it was! The floor could use a professional steam cleaning, and a real mopping. And I don’t mean with the chincy mop in the closet.

Beautiful Home, Terrible Management Company

Our family made reservations with your management company to secure the “Blackberry Hill” property just north of Newport, OR. We made this reservation and paid our deposit with a great deal of excitement; and spent all of 2014 looking forward to spending the last 10 days of the year among the people we love most. Upon arrival, we were blown away by the house’s design and location, and instantly felt at home.

Not even 12 hours later, though, an entire calendar year’s worth of plans and hopes flushed away with the last of the well water. We awoke early on Christmas Day to find that the well on the property had run dry; thus began a sequence of events and situations that kept hitting below the belt. From a faulty oven, no internet, a faulty well pump, and NO WATER for days and when there waster it smelled of clams. This review is because we do want to impress upon you is a disappointment that is deep and lasting. What our family experienced at Blackberry Hill wasn’t just a tremendous let-down. It was jeopardous and dangerous. All of us left not only dis-spirited, but literally ill. This was undoubtedly exacerbated and prolonged by the lack of clean, running water; when renting a vacation property in the year 2014, one shouldn’t have to consider running water a luxury, but that was exactly what we experienced.

And a quick thumb through the guest book you had on property made it more than apparent that our experience was not isolated or exceptional; there were numerous entries complaining about the water quality/availability, and as we read more and more in said book, we more and more felt like we had been defrauded not only of our money but of precious family time and memories because we spent the majority of our time having to not just worry and wonder about having running water, but to venture into grocery and convenience stores on Christmas Day and many days afterwards to purchase potable water.

It is no stretch to see our experiences as the direct result of a pretty obvious form of consumer fraud your management company is practicing by even renting the property out without a reliable source of running water. Taking the guest book entries and public comments to your website into consideration, it’s apparent that the owners of the property were not doing anything to significantly address this problem, and that dereliction is not just negligent but dangerous. We were promised a refund and as of to date have never seen it, showing more negligence.

Owner's Response: I am so very sorry about all the problems you had at our home. I wished I would have been notified of these problems and they would have been corrected immediately. Yes, it is most unfortunate that the well pump decides to go out on Christmas day and all utility companies are closed on holidays. The pump has been replaced. Most of the homes outside of town on the coast are on wells. I will notify management and you will be compensated for your trouble. Perfect Vacation Home!

Thank you for sharing your amazing home with us! Everything is so beautiful and comfortable. The weather was especially bad this weekend with the Rain and Wind but the house made it all ok. The views are amazing to watch the storms from and the game room downstairs kept us occupied for hours! Can't wait to be able to come back again!

Perfect Vacation Rental!

A fantastic vacation rental! Beautifully furnished, spacious and AMAZING views! We had a family reunion here and everyone had a wonderful time. The weather was really rainy and windy so we were inside most of the time and the game room kept everyone entertained for hours. My husband and i live just 15 miles away but have already talked about the fact that we would love to rent it again just to get away for a weekend. A special thank you to Michelle from the rental agency for making everything so smooth and easy!

The home is approximately 3 miles North of shopping in Newport and approximately 1 mile south of Beverly Beach State Park. Ocean fishing is a leisurely walk from the driveway to the beach or, less than two miles south are two beautiful reservoirs for trout fishing. If golf is your sport, only 4 miles south in Newport or North to Gleneden Beach. Directly east of our front door are wonderful hikes through the forest on gated logging roads with numerous streams and blackberry patches. Deep sea fishing, crabbing, clamming are available at the historic Newport Marina. The Newport Aquarium is a 'must see' and judged as one of the top 10 in the nation.
