We really enjoyed our time at this home. The property was exceptionally clean and well taken care of with everything you could want. The kitchen is large and very well furnished and the living spaces were very comfortable. The location of the property could not have been move perfect midway between Omena and Traverse City.
We are keeping this listing for the future as we would not hesitate to stay again.
My husband and I just returned home from our vacation today, and we very much enjoyed this house. I am very fussy when it comes to walking into a clean house and this house was just that. You could smell the cleanliness. They even added a vase of freshly picked flowers to welcome us. The natural light from all the windows was fabulous, and we even watched a raccoon enjoying the sweet cherries on several different occasions from the living room. The living room also had very comfortable furniture, which was a big bonus. We were sad to leave the area, where this house was in a nice location to travel to Sutton's Bay to enjoy the small shops, Traverse City to shop and enjoy Tandem Ciders, and Cedar to eat at the Sol Taco Stand. The owners were readily available when we noticed that cable cords were missing from the DVD player and brought us a set almost immediately. They were VERY easy to work with and that is also a great bonus.
The only reason we didn't give this an excellent review, wished there was a VERY GOOD button, was because the house was on the corner of M22 and another pretty well traveled road. The traffic was almost a constant. When the traffic wasn't there, the birds were chirping and it was a total relaxation moment.
We would not hesitate to come back, even knowing the noise of the cars. The house had lots of character and it was neat to hear that the owner grew up in the house.
We had a nice experience at this home. We had great communication with the owner and it is in the perfect location to enjoy all that Leelanau Peninsula has to offer. This home would be great for a large group as well as for 1 or 2 people. The home is also very clean! We would love to enjoy this home and property again someday.
What a great week our group of ten spent at this clean and spacious home! We used it as our home base while exploring the area. The kitchen was large and well equipped. The separate dining area with a large table and six chairs was great for games as well as meals. Having only one shower was not an issue as we simply staggered showers and laundered towels in the extra large size washer/dryer. Our favorite room in the house was the 'sun porch'. Our teenage girls (4 of them) took over this room and added an air bed. They could stay up listening to music and talking late while the parents could sleep peacefully upstairs. The room could get chilly at night but a heater was provided if it got too cold. The location just a short drive to Northport was great. We loved Barbs bakery and music in the park on Friday evening. The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again next year!
The other reviewers have written about how this place worked out great for large groups but I just spent four days there, just myself, and it is also nice for one or two. I have rented many places in the suttons bay area and this place was BY FAR the cleanest (and I am really fussy about that). Even the kitchen drawers were clean, not a crumb to be found. It was nice that the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom weren't crammed full with the owner's stuff so you can settle in with your own things. The location if great to get to Northport, Leland, Omena or Suttons Bay. Bed was comfortable. Lots of big windows to enjoy the views. I saw a doe and little fawn in the back. The front porch is everything that the others have talked about, even covered so you can sit there in the rain if you want. I did not meet the owner but he left his contact info. I will be returning this summer!
