About Holly Johnson

We are retired. Bob, a former dentist from Somerville MA, Jane, a former social worker/educator. We love living on the property Bob's great grandfather acquired over 100 years ago. Our kids and seven grandchildren love to visit us and enjoy the beach, boating, fishing, skiing, clamming and jogging. Walks to the working pier with a view of Goat Island for lunch on the deck or to Bradbury's Market are favorite things to do with Grandpa. Also, going for ice cream with Nana and Grandpa in their 1956 (antique?) convertible.

Bob is active in our local Rotary, church choir and both of us enjoy the many terrific community events this area offers. Jane is busy exploring family history and uncovering some interesting tales for the archives.

My husband and I just returned from staying a week at "The Upper Deck" To say this cottage is a hidden gem is an understatement. Bob and Jane Card are the perfect hosts.... they are a wealth of knowledge regarding Cape Porpoise and the surrounding areas. When asked they recommended places to go, things to see and places to eat. The cottage was immaculate, the rockers perfect for enjoying the spectacular view from the window , the kitchen fully furnished . The grounds are immaculately landscaped and the views from the dock are ever changing. We hope to return for another relaxing week in this quaint New England town. Thank you, Bob and Jane, for sharing your cottage with us...this vacation exceed all of our expectations!!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We had the most delightful and restful stay in this most comfortable apartment. It was so much fun to come "home" each night to a very comfortable bed and we so enjoyed watching all the goings-on out the window. We also enjoyed meeting the owners, which was a plus for us. The place was immaculate and provided everything we needed and then some. If we are ever in the area again, we shall try to stay in this beautiful apartment.

One of Our Best Vacations Ever!

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed many vacations in Maine over the years but this stay in Cape Porpoise has been one of the best. We feel so fortunate to have had such unlimited access to kayaking every day and such a cozy place to come home to every evening. Our views from our windows were always spectacular and it was so nice to be able to have the ability to eat in and enjoy your property. We appreciated how much care you took to make sure the cottage is very comfortable and well kept. And we enjoyed meeting some of your family members as well. We love Cape Porpoise and would very much love to make your cottage our home base. - Don and Joan Olson, Ontario

A most amazing find!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in this delightful apartment and couldn't have been more impressed. Not only was the decor a delightful seaside theme, the place spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable, but the rocking chairs by the window provided us endless hours of entertainment watching the tides, the birds and the working boats. We found the location perfect for exploring both near and far; lots to do within a walking distance but also easy access to the rest of coastal Maine by car. Cape Porpoise has a wonderful, welcoming, small town vibe with all conveniences close at hand.

We absolutely recommend this vrbo!!!!

Favorite stay on our 9 day trip up the coast!

  • 5 of 5

I almost feel the pictures don't do this property justice for how quaint and cozy it was. The studio was so clean and fun we ended up spending most of our time in it. The owners/hosts were so friendly, willing to give suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We are already planning a summer trip back!

Adorable room and positively the most wonderful owners/neighbors. Everything was spotless and we couldn't have felt any more at home. We will definitely be back! It will forever be a special place for my husband and I. The neighborhood is quiet, convenient and the entire region puts Southern Hospitality to shame. We loved everything about the trip and accomodations. The view from the room is ever changing and looks like a New England post card. The owners put a lot of special personal touches to the apartment like nothing you would ever experience in a 5-star hotel. We just cant say enough good about the accommodations and the wonderful people that we met!
