About Jackie Halls, Property Manager

About the owner: After living near the ocean in the Myrtle Beach area, it is wonderful to swim in a freshwater lake. No sand, no hurricanes, no traffic, the life is easy and the climate mild. Plus, there aren't any alligators in the water!

Jackie Halls, Property Manager purchased this house in 2006

Why Jackie Halls, Property Manager chose North Carolina

Lake Gaston is a well kept secret. When traveling on I-85, one crosses the lake at an unscenic location. When one is traveling on I-95, there is no hint that a gorgeous lake is just to the west. Even within North Carolina, people do not know about Lake Gaston. It is a pleasure living here and enjoying the perfect climate.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our second year here at Lakeside Leisure and we had a wonderful time! We shared the week with family & friends enjoying the water for tubing, knee boarding, wake boarding, swimming and fishing. We have been coming to Lake Gaston for 7 or 8 years to now & this seems to be the most accommodating one so far. You've thought of just about everything that a family needs to have a pleasant stay. We especially enjoyed the time we turned off the TV and played family games "Catch Phrase," a game my brother-in-law's family always brings, kept us in stitches. My daughter's boyfriend caught a 5 lb. bass & was excited! (He later left to go to a fishing tournament & he felt the fish brought him good luck.) As usual, we took the last night to eat at Watersview & watch the sun go down. Thank you so much for the use of your lovely home. We hope to continue coming to the lake & making more family memories with future "children," in-laws & hopefully grandchildren. May god Bless You all.

Great House on Lake Gaston

  • 5 of 5

Great location on Lake Gaston. Home is wonderful, clean and comfortable. The boat house is excellent, protects our bass boat and has outlet for charging batteries. TVs are large and HD. Enjoyed the Keurig! Jackie is very responsive and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend this house.

Fisherman & Wife Love It

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed here before and loved it. As a community boat ramp is 100 yards away, this is a great house for the fisherman. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of "things" to keep you and the kids busy and comfortable. Mom & Dad and the kids...can't go wrong. My permanent house of choice at Gaston.

Absolutely Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time staying at Lakeside Leisure and it was described by all as our best vacation ever. The house has everything you could possibly need. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked. One of the best things is the view. The boathouse was a plus! Can't wait to visit again!!!

Relaxing time at the lake

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a relaxing time at the lake. Since we brought the boat, it was convenient to have the ramp so close and also to have a covered boat slip. We thought we would have great fall foliage but the leaves were just starting to change. The weather was great and unusually warm which made it great for boat rides. The house is very comfortable and has lots of amenities. There was a problem with the internet and both the property manager, Jackie, and owner, Carol were very prompt to correct the problem. It's great knowing that if there is a problem, someone is willing to take care of it quickly. We enjoyed ping pong and air hockey. My son's family came for the day on Sunday and my granddaughters enjoyed the paddle boat. We liked that we were in a cove so we didn't have to worry about other boats or jet skis. Looking forward to coming back next year.

WONDERFUL!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful time we had at your house! It was a beautifully appointed house. We had so much to do there, like ping pong, swimming, boating, air hockey, pool, and Foosball, not mention the workout equipment too. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors that we did see were very friendly. We were able to have peaceful walks through the neighborhood during the morning and after dark too. Jackie was so nice and pleasant to work with. Thanks for sharing your house with us! The weather, by the way, was in the 80s for most of the week so we were able to swim almost every day. Thanks again and we hope to be back again next fall.

Loving the lake

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a relaxing week at the lake house. We had five twenty-somethings with us and they made daily use of the pool table, not to mention that we were all in the water, all day, every day. Boat rental was convenient and the kids loved tubing. We fished from the dock and caught several varieties of fish. If you look past the lack of curb appeal, Casa Mia is a great place for pizza. The rest of the dining options included decent food and beautiful views. The local Food Lion was clean and well-stocked.. The owners of this rental are very user friendly and supplied many little extras which made us comfortable here. My only constructive comments would include having a newer mattress in the master bedroom and less worn couches in the living room. These minor things would not prevent me from returning for another visit.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciated all the little "extras". We know how important your vacation is! Lakeside Leisure strives to always exceed expectations. We also hear your 2 suggestions and have placed them both on our short list. Update 7-16-2016: a new "Original Mattress Factory" mattress has now been placed into service. Still looking around for living room couches. Update 7-23-2016 New couches are now in place! Thanks again for your comments
