truly a beach house
Keywords: Beach House, two bedoom, two bath house on the beach
My husband and I loved the quiet beauty of Lower Bay. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and the location on the end of Lower Bay was perfect. It was very laid back and our favorite location was the outdoor patio deck watching the boats on the water. There were no surprises as the house looks exactly like the photos on the website. We would recommend Keegan's for lunch or dinner (an easy walk) and Da Reef for lunch. From my first email to Edith (the owner) to being picked up by Taxi driver Jeffrey everything was perfect. Also the Upper Crust bakery is an online only for ordering and they deliver to the house, everything was so good!
We, 3 European girls, had a holiday of a lifetime during our stay in Casa Rosaline Beach House in Bequia over NewYear’s.
The house is fully equipped for a comfortable stay with 3-4 adults. The 2 bedrooms have AC; there are 2 bathrooms (1 with hot water); and the kitchen has all expected equipment and a big fridge. Our favorite spot of the house was without a doubt the fully furnished outside deck area, looking out over the bay.
As for the area, situated towards the end of Lower Bay, that part of the beach is quiet and hardly disturbed. The local kids are often out and about playing around in the sand and water; and there are some beach bars around for an easygoing breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks. A trip into town is a short pick up taxi ride away (or a 30 min walk) for groceries or going out in the evening.
Starting from our enquiries, Edith (the owner) was very helpful and responsive to all our requests; even ensuring a smooth arrival from St Vincent all the way to the house.
A cleaning lady came by twice during our stay, every time leaving us with a nice and tidied house and a fresh supply of towels.
Casa Rosaline Beach House is the perfect place for an uncomplicated holiday getaway with family or friends. Expect to relax to the fullest and enjoy life in island-style.
We spent a week at this cottage and loved it. It's right on the beach, steps from the water in a residential area- I felt like a local! We had a rental car and did some exploring down by the airport, turtle sanctuary, & Port Elizabeth. There are a few resturants within walking distance (Fernando's is the best!) but I'm glad we had the car for shopping and most nights out for dinner and fun. We used the AC in the bedrooms at night and since my husband and I were traveling with a friend we were glad for the second bathroom (down a few steps and not as nice as the bathroon upstairs). The deck was the best, we sat out there anytime we were at the cottage. Our second favorite place to eat was Cocoa's, the Devil's table was fun for dinner, drinks and dancing. Fish fry at Frangipanis was expensive and not very good. We loved the market by the dock, both the craft and farmer's mkts. Captain Michael was super friendly and I would call him to go sightseeing but I would not hire him to go fishing again- not really equipted for fishing trips. We had a lovely trip and would certainly stay at Casa Rosaline if make the "not easy" trip down to Bequia again. If it were easy it would be over- run with tourist and lose it's charm.
Myself and my partner stayed at Casa Rosaline for Christmas, a last minute getaway from our home in Barbados , what a lovely spot .it was perfect for us after a stressful time nursing a sick, close friend and needing some peace and quiet time. The cottage is well furnished . clean and well equipped with local friendly neighbours. Sitting on the patio looking out at the beautiful sea view of Lower Bay takes some beating. We would certainly not hesitate to stay again at Casa Rosaline
